I just made this and my house smells AMAZING!!! I wish I could bottle it up! Can't wait to eat it. I tasted some of the batter and it was DEE-Lish! The bourbon even made my lips tingle a little! ;)

I am not a banana person, but my family is! I will definitely have to try this recipe next time!!

Also, the foodproof website is not available... I know this recipe is from a while ago. Is this website still up and running?

Just made this recipe yesterday. Thank you for sharing. I too replaced the almonds with ground almond and it worked great. I used no sugar but added a handful of golden raisins. My kitchen smelled fab! To top it off, what an easy recipe with max results.

This is my new fave banana bread recipe! I've tweaked it slightly by using ground almonds so that my toddler won't risk choking on the nuts and use half white flour/ half spelt flour. It's part of our new Saturday morning to have fresh baked banana bread - and it makes the whole house smell amazing! Thanks so much Joy for yet another awesome recipe! Zx

Just popped a loaf into the oven... already I'm drooling! I used rum as I don't keep bourbon on hand. I might have possibly (and entirely accidentally) tasted the dough. It might have been so delicious that I tasted it twice.

Thanks!
