Number Five: Peanut Butter Fudge Treats
For those moments when you decide to kill your noisy neighbors by gifting them an epic sugar rush in the form of these super charged bars. Not a crime, right?
Number Four: Red Velvet Black and White Cookies
Because red dye makes everything… red velvety!
Number Three: Pumpkin Pie Bars
Why add rolling out pie crust to the monstrous holiday to-do list? Plus, butterscotch chips!? Success!
Number Two: Lemon Whoopie Pies
Two cookies brought together with cream cheese frosting!? Every meal, everyday? Ok!
Number One: Easy Cinnamon Roll Muffins
Like a cinnamon roll loophole. Also, is it weird that I always type cinnamon rolls as sinnamon rolls before correcting myself. Yea… that happens.

Yes! Finally, a blog that matches my personality for baking. I just printed out a few of your recipes I have to try immediately! I love your baking humor while reading your blog……I still am smiling. My husband just picked an armful of mango’s from my “death tree” ( told everyone that I want to be buried under my beloved mango tree…..seriously!) and tonight we dine on Fresh Mango Bread (your recipe).Whoooohooo! Aloha from Kona!
Joy
I’m here via ‘My Messy Thrilling Life’… but I had to stop by just cause we have the same name, and I’ve fantasied about being a baker. Not a cook…as I don’t like to cook. I like to bake. I like butter and real ingredients. So, I’m Joy the Baker also. Nice to meet ya. You’ve got some yummy stuff here. I thought the chocolate iced cookies were going to be those Italian ‘Chocolate Drops’… I love those. This is the place to stop by for my sugar fix. See ya in the morning with my cup of coffee.
Renee
OMG!!! Joy the Baker. I made the cookies…the B&W Cookies. Pure Heaven in my mouth. I used mascarpone cheese to make the icing. I have a thing for Mascarpone cheese lately. This recipe made me so happy. Thanks! :)
Lea McIntosh
I just smacked my lips when I say the peanut butter fudge bars. Gotta make!
Diane
Cinnamon roll muffins here I come!
jolynn@thedish
Wow, the peanut butter fudge treats remind so much of my childhood. My mother and I made rice crispy treats all the time, and I used to be obsessed with fudge. I must call my old friend from high school right now to relive all those memories of making fudge in her kitchen.

I have to tell you that you now write my favorite food website. I went though last weekend and printed about half of the recipes that you’ve posted and I am dutifully working my way though them (much to my families delight). Thanks so much for taking the time to share!
Sandra

Just five of the…oh, zillion reasons why I adore you, Joy the Baker.
Meg
They all look absolutely fabulous!
megan
I really want to make those cinnamon roll muffins! Right now I’m debating between making them this saturday, or just going ahead and attempting to make the real thing. yum! :)
Tina
Lol! Helen, I’ve been trying to think of the actress or character that reminds me of Joy and you soo nailed it!
Anna Pascale is soo you, Joy! So, sweet and fun and wonderful :)
Sarah
This post was just plain mean!! These all look so good and there’s no way I’m going to be able to stay away from them!

I can’t wait to make the rice crispy thingies – YOWZA! Do you think you’ll be making a recipe index? I feel like I missing out on some really fab recipes!
Btw – I’ve got my husband reading your site. He loves the way you write, totally entertaining.
That Girl
The PB Fudge treats were a HUGE hit at Christmas. Along with the Red Velvet B&W cookies. And then my best friend made the Pumpkin bars. One of the tastiest holidays in a long time. :)
Sharon
Those fudge treats are tempting to fix something similar up :}
Cameron
Pumpkin Pie Bars, I’ve never heard of such a thing! And, I’m disappointed to have been missing out for so long, but its nice to know there is something so wonderful and pumpkin-y in the world. You definitely just made my rainy day here in the mountains a little bit brighter.
When Pigs Fly
Love your blog! Found it on the Times Online. Beautiful photos. You are inspiring me to start baking again. Will be back to visit and drool.
Jennifer
I have to say I would NEVER be able to pick your top 5, let alone your top 10!!!!
annie
Ha! Thanks Dawn, didn’t realize my mistake (thought Helen was thinking of Anna Paquin, another wonderful actress). My blood sugar must have been low… I’ll just stick to baking. ;)
joythebaker
You guys are so funny! I get the Stranger Than Fiction comment a lot… especially since I have tattoos. Shhhh. You guys haven’t seen those yet!
Natty
Torture, torture, torture! It hurts so good.
Colleen
My favorites? Peanut butter chocolate ice cream and fruit & jam muffins. Anytime I make anything from your site my husband falls a little more in love with me. Thanks for that amazing gift!
Hannah
I think I’ll be trying some of these soon!
Dana McCauley
That’s a good selection! I think I like the red velvet cakes best.
Lauren
Joy you’re just plain evil – this whole assortment of treats looks completely amazing….I’m drooling and can’t even fathom anything past the PB bars!
Briana
I can totally vouch for those Pumpkin Pie Bars, I used your recipe when you first published it and it brings pumpkin filling to a whole new level. It was so dang good.
Laura
Followed your blog for a while, but this is my first comment… Just had to tell you that I tried the easy cinnamon rolls (scrumptious!), put my own spin on your pumpkin pie bars (a fan favorite), and have dreams of making strawberry and/or lemon whoopie pies this weekend! :)
Jane
I was just looking at that cinnamon roll recipe yesterday. This is a sign!
Nicole
Thanks for bringing these 5 recipes out to look at again. Would it be strange to make those pumpkin bars in June? Possibly bring them to a 4th of July picnic and get a couple head turns? They sounds so good, I do not want to wait for its appropriate season :)
unconfidentialcook
You had me at number 5!
Dawn
Joy, you are the only blog that I think is worth reading- and I have one of my own so…
Annie- Apologize to Helen, Maggie Gyllenhaal was the actress- Helen was referring to the character she played: whose name in Stranger than Fiction was Ana Pascal. I’m sure you realize the difference.
la vie est belle
How did the brownie cookies not make the top 5??? We’ve made them at least 10 times. But I see now there are others to try. I’m in for Joy the Stranger than Fiction girl. Do you sing too?
annie
You always make me want to bake! Yes, the lemon whoopie pies are heaven, going to make them again RIGHT NOW. :)
p.s. Helen: it was Maggie Gyllenhall, not Anna Pascale!
Kristin @ Iowa Girl Eats
FABULOUS! Thanks so much for sharing! I’m drooling all over my keyboard… :)
Megan
Those all look amazing! I want to make those whoopie pies for real. But mini!
Michelle
Oooh I love the Top 5! I think I’ll start with #1 – they look scrumptious!
Elsa
Yum! I want to share my cinnamon roll recipe that uses biscuit dough to cut down the wait time. I highly recommend using plain non-fat yogurt as the liquid. It gives the dough a nice tang to compliment the sweetness – also adding a little orange zest to the dough!
Scroll down to see the cinnamon-sugar variation:

I think your filling with this dough will be killer. I love cardamom.
The Duo Dishes
PB fudge treats for sure!
Sagan
I’m swooning over here. You sure know how to bake!
Carsen
Those lemon whoopies are my favorite thing ever. I put them in the freezer to hide them from my family, but they taste SO good all cold and pillowy.
Jen G
I love your red velvet cookies! I made them for friends and family – they were a huge hit!!
Deanna
Those pumpkin bars are to die for! I love them. Have to make them again sometime soon. The cinnamon muffins look great too. Will have to try those.
Yolanda
I am proud to say I have made four of Top Five. Looks like I need to get on those pumpkin bars and complete the job.
Nik
Hi Joy! Quick question about the pumpkin bars. I would LOVE to make these but my poor hubby is allergic to tree nuts. :( Should I sub something else in for those or will it be ok without them? Thanks so much. Love your blog!
brandi
oh yeah, I tried the bacon waffles on Saturday this past weekend – amazing. Bacon should always be baked with brown sugar :)
brandi
ooh, those red velvet cookies look amazing!
Melissa
mmm…, how did you ever pick 5 favs? I think I must try them all with my kids, they love to bake/cook. By the way the brown sugar bacon waffles are divine!
Instead of signing my kids up for expensive cooking class this summer, we are going to do our own at home. Do you have any suggestions for what to choose? The kids are 13, 11 & 9. I will search your site, you may have already covered this topic.
Melissa
GS
Joy, you’re the reason I’ve added more time to my treadmill workout!!
Ramona
Every body has at least one noisy neighbor, don’t they? The only thing that’s going to kill mine is beer. I’ve never seen him without one in his hand. I don’t think he eats – only drinks.
But for those treats above, you can go ahead and kill me. I’ll die happy.
Ramona
Tina
Oh my the pumpkin pie bars sound delish right now. I know it is not fall, but I really want to make these. I also love the idea of the cinnamon roll muffins my son would flip over these.
Shushmi
OMG peanut butter fudge treats look incredible…gooey and creamy and crumbly all in one *swoon*
Elizabeth
These recipes look mouthwatering! I cannot wait to make the Pumpkin Pie Bars! These recipes will get me through the day today… dreaming all day long at my desk! Thanks Joy!! :-)

Kati
Okay these all look amazing–which to try first??? Now more things to put on my to-do list–however, these might be bumped to the top above laundry and bills–they look so delish that they get priority! Thanks
Helen
Sure this has been said of you before… but you remind me of Anna Pascale off Stranger Than Fiction. love love love. just wants to change the world with her sweet creations. thanks for brightening my world!
maria
Those lemon cookies look amazing. And as far as typos? I always type my friend’s name as Christ, and then I have to delete the ‘t’ at the end. I don’t tell him that, though, because I don’t want to give him a God complex. Haha!
Mags
Your red velvet black and white cookies totally bring yin and yang to mind. All is well with the world ( and I don’t even believe in that stuff!)
