Joy the Baker Picnic: Rooftop and Cupcakes

July 24, 2009

Rooftop Picnic

A few weeks ago I threw a little idea out into the world:  a Joy the Baker picnic.

Well… holy heck!  We’re doing it!

Joy the Baker is throwing a rooftop cupcake party smack dab in the middle of gorgeous downtown Los Angeles.  Consider it a room with a view (the view pictured above silly!)… and no roof and tons of cupcakes and sweet tea.

Sunday August 23rd from 2pm until 7pm.  Downtown Los Angeles.

This event is not a pot luck situation.  It’s more of a eat-all-the-Joy-the-Baker-cupcakes-you-can situation.

If you’d like to attend, send an email to joythebakerpicnic (at) gmail (dot) com

I’ll email you the fancypants invitation late next week.

Now… a girl can only make so may cupcakes.  In the event that I have to limit the guest list, invitations will go out on a first come, first serve basis.  Get your emails in!

Not in Los Angeles?  Don’t fret!  I have plans for you to play along wherever you live.  You might call it a virtual picnic!  Stay tuned for that!

I want to see your shining faces!

I would love to participate in the virtual picnic… since I’ll be in Ottawa, Canada and far far away from LA…

I’m in LA and this sounds like it would be a lot of fun!

But crossing over from the internet to real life? That always freaks me out a little bit. :-\

I have enjoyed looking at your blog. You have an interesting writing style.

I am reaching out to chefs and cooks to gather recipes that can be used on eKwipper’s website, mobile web application and any iPhone and iPad apps we develop. We are building a community of cooks and chefs who will share their recipes with an even larger community of grocery shoppers.

eKwipper is a platform for mobile coupons but we also offer the grocery shopper using eKwipper the ability to not only gather coupons but also to create a shopping list and look up recipes on the B2C or from their smartphone.

eKwipper will be showing up in grocery stores across the country in the coming year.

Here is a link to A Call for Chefs which shows an example of how the recipe section of the B2C in eKwipper will look. http://ekwipper.biz/recipes/index.html
From that link you can get an idea of how we can feature chefs, cooks, blogs, recipes, …

I noticed many of the recipes you have posted are your own. I would like to know if you would be willing to share them with us and if so which ones would you suggest. We would of course credit you and your blog. Being selected and featured would increase traffic to your blog.

Please let me know if you would like to know more and if you are interested.

Thank you,
Larry
