Oh the joys of a newly acquired box grater, after trying to use a newfangled grater on top of a plastic box. Seemed like a good idea, but now with all those low fat cakes and grated courgettes and butternut squash and beetroot, the joys of a box grater indeed!

Holy goodness, why did I not think to grate the frozen butter?! That would have saved me hours with my dough cutter and my wrist some unnecessary pain. You, my friend, are a thinker.

the other day I couldn't FIND my box grater. Trying to shred par-cooked potatoes for homemade hash browns on a mandolin ='s supreme frustration. Thankfully I crawled my 8mo pregnant self up onto a chair and discovered taller than me-Hubby had put it on a shelf far out of my reach...dinner was then saved...by the box grater. :)

I have been attacked by many a box grater...sure one could argue that I asked for it, with my negligence; but I maintain that box graters have it out for me.

I have been married now for count them.... 34 years!!! And I have gone thru 2 box graters! Although, I must admit, I'm a bit stubborn about really giving up the 2nd one... The handle broke off and so I'm contenplating putting a wooden one onto it! Just hate to waste the actual grater... which still works! I must tell you... I made the oatmeal raspberry scones a while back for DH and he loved them! So much so, I made a huge batch and he took them to share with his crew at work! And I got lots of complements on them.... Although, I must say... I made them into triangels... same taste different look... guess I will try them your way next time!
Good luck on the move! Hang in there.... your young! Heck once your new neighbors find out that you bake all this wonderful stuff! Your loft will be the "place to be"!
Enjoy!
