Buh-nana Bread(s)

bananas

Bananas should always be bread.  It’s just what’s right.  Like how grapes should always be wine… or jelly.  I can’t handle eating a plain banana.  I have to drown… completely drown it in peanut butter, or wrap it in white bread and drench it in honey.  I just can’t handle it.

I’ll tell you what I can handle.  Sweet, warm banana bread.  With strawberries.  With peanut butter.  With oatmeal.  With mango.  Whatever you do, don’t stop.

Low-Fat Oatmeal Banana Bread I made this and ate a major amount… and I didn’t even feel bad.

Peanut Butter Banana Bread As good as you think it sounds.

Strawberry Banana Bread And there’s browned butter.  I know.  I just won’t quit.

Vegan Mango Banana Bread Double fruit!

Vegan Pineapple Coconut Banana Bread A lot of words.  A lot of awesome.

Rot some bananas and get your body bakin’!

Ps.  I’m making kale chips today.

  1. I’m with you on bananas. They should never be eaten on their own. They belong in cake, bread, muffins, smoothies, or sliced up between pancakes served up with maple syrup :)

  2. Joy, I love you, but I am kind of positive that your banana bread is not as good as my mom’s banana bread. Hers is off the chizain.
But your podcast kicks hers into next week! (just joshing, she doesn’t have a podcast. But not joking about yours being great. It makes my day.)

  3. Oh I love bananas! And they are the only fruit my partner will actually eat (Apparently fruit “tastes mushy” *eyeroll*). I’m always on the look out for new banana bread recipes! Cheers for this one!

  4. I know! I like bananas in bread too.. I have no problem having them alone but there’s something with the baking and caramelizing that makes it so incredibly yummy. Nanas in my tum-tum!

  5. I’m not really that keen on bananas and so have never made banana bread but I think I’m going to have to try that strawberry and banana bread. Looks amazing!

  6. I freakin love banana bread! Have been making it a lot lately, with boozy sultanas, walnuts and a smattering of dark choc chunks. There’s a shop near my work which gives away it’s bananas that are too ripe to eat – perfect for bread – where I agree, they belong!

  7. Argh. Jealous much. Bananas are still over $10 a kg here in Oz so I don’t buy them often and I certainly don’t buy enough to go brown. I so ? banana bread. One day…one day…

  8. I am so with you on bananas. I actually don’t like them on their own all that much. But they are a staple IN things.

I came up with a vegan + GF peanut butter banana bread that is every bit as sinful as it’s nonvegan and glutenney cousin so your recipe really makes me excited. Anything PB + bread + bananas = success.

Actually ALL those banana bread recipes make me excited!

  9. Those banana breads are awesome! Let us know how the kale chips turned out. I’ve tried it twice without any success. I don’t know if I did something wrong or simply I don’t like them.

  10. Mmm banana bread is the best! I am going to google kale chips right now, I’ve heard of them but can’t picture how it works… Kale isn’t so common here!

P.s. Pretty much every time I read your blog I drool. Just thought you should know haha
