Book Tour

Screen shot 2012-01-26 at 10.03.13 PM

It is with great (bonkers, crazy, awesome!!!!) excitement that I announce my first book tour!  I’m tempted to type this in all caps… because I am, in fact, yelling!

I’ll be traveling to seven cities around the country, to meet YOU, sign your book, and hug it out.  I can’t wait to meet you!

I’ve been writing this little blog for four years now.  Whether you’ve been here for a week, or for the full four years… you’ve always been there, and I’ve always been here.  This March we have the opportunity the be in the same space.  Together!

I’m bound to do something awkward.  I hope to sport sweet nail polish… and if I can keep lipstick on my lips , I’ll do it.

It’s so important to me that I meet you, chat, and high-five.  I’ll be signing books, and even doing cooking demonstrations in some cities.  Please come out and say hello… otherwise it might just be me and my Sharpie… talk about awkward!

book cover

The Joy the Baker Cookbook is currently available for pre-order on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.  Thank you (from deep inside my heart) to all of you who have already pre-ordered the book.  I can’t wait for you to have it!

An Important Note:

I feel so blessed to be able to visit these seven cities.  The cookbook and this book tour really are a dream come true.  It’s also my dream to be whisked around the country on book tour, but that’s just not my reality.

It’s super important for me to come meet you, so I’m taking care of the travel myself.    I want to meet as many of you as I can.  If I can make my way to your city, please trust that I will try my hardest to do so.

Please check back here as I will add more cities as I am able.

I’m so excited!  Let’s cookbook!

You should have more NY locations! Everyone always takes a tour to NYC…How about Upstate?

Giada came to Upstate once, to a book signing in Williams Sonoma, but I rarely hear about other chefs coming anywhere close to my location. I’d love to meet you, I have so many questions! I love your blog and think I could learn a lot from your advice, especially since my skills aren’t anywhere near yours.

I’m going to try to get to Chicago, but it would be a whole heck of a lot nicer if you could come to Indianapolis. I’m so excited for this and am very happy for you. Congratulations!!

Minneapolis-St. Paul would love to see you! We’re warm-hearted folk (it’s not as cold as you think) and great hosts! If not this tour, then definitely add MSP to your “to see” list. And it’s true, from April-October, it’s heavenly here. Congratulations on your book – what a fantastic accomplishment!

You have got to be kidding me. You will be in my neck of the woods at Left Bank Books in St. Louis while I’m in CA.
I’m at Left Bank all the time. I’m NEVER in CA.
Boo.

Joy, I live in London, England, and assuming you don’t change your mind and decide to come here (I have a little dog you can play with!) my sister will be coming to see you in San Francisco on my behalf. She and I look a lot alike,so it will kind of be the same.

So, what WILL it take for you to come to Texas? Pecan pie? BBQ? Rodeo? Name a hurricane after you (Hurricane Joythebaker)?

Seriously, all the best on your book tour – you will be amazing!

P.s. why don’t they use a tall table & bar stool at book signings, so you can sit but still be eye to eye with folks?

Come to Phoenix! Maybe not in the summer…it feels like an oven! But maybe that’s ok, seeming that we are bakers and spend lots of time around ovens. We should be used to it by now.

Super excited for you to have your first tour!! You definitely deserve it, every entry leaves me either drooling or laughing out loud…usually both. It’s actually kind of disgusting, but my boyfriend gets to try every recipe I glean from you so he loves me anyway. On another note – PLEASE come to Baltimore soon! Or DC, or Philly, or hell, I’d even travel up to New York for ya. The east coast is dying for a visit!

Kerry February 20, 2012 at 4:47 pm

Oh wait, you are coming to New York – I’m the jerk that’s busy that day. Ah well, here’s lookin’ at many more tours to come.

Joy!!! Hello! I have recently discovered you and your incredible blog just this past year and I must tell you I am head over heels in LOVE with all your delicious recipes, many of which I have tried and shared with my friends, my always willing taste testers. THANK YOU thank you thank you for your constant positive attitude, wit, and sheer love for life. Its refreshing and very much appreciated to read your story and how you have taken your passion for food and are able to share it with others in such a beautiful way. I am about to graduate this May from Louisiana State University with nothing definite on the horizon besides moving to New Orleans and knowing that whatever I do with my life must involve food. Sorry this is a bit on the novel worthy, lengthy side but here I arrive to my main point- BOOK TOUR. So you know what is a beautiful part of this country. The southeast. You know where there are tons of incredible restaurants to try while one might be traveling around on, oh I don’t know…say a book tour. The southeast. Especiaaaaally the great, the “cannot be compared to any other place because it’s just that amazing and unique” city of New Orleans. I beg you to consider coming a little closer to me, I know this is a lot to request but a little trip to Nola will sure make it worth your while!!! And the food…haha oooooh the food. I say this with full confidence- we know what we’re doin in the food department. So many restaurants, sooo much love for food down here…there’s an energy and culture to this city like no other. Ya gotta come, ya just gotta! Or at least closer than St. Louis!! :)

from your friend, fan, and fellow bourbon lover down here in da big easy, Happy Mardi Gras Joy!
Callie

You’re coming so close, make a stop in Minneapolis/St.Paul!!! We are major bakers here, being a city that got it’s start in part with flour! It’s so lovely here in the summer and have you heard of the Minnesota State Fair? It’s the biggest 2 week fair in the country and Lots of bakers show up! We would love to meet you Joy!

Toronto (Canada) is where it’s at! Just saying… ;)
You can visit the CN Tower, eat street meat, meet a Canadian boy, hang out at The Cookbook Store and… it will be maple syrup season!

Hi Joy!

I can’t wait for your book to be released and for the Enjoy gift to arrive! I’m dying over here and am considering camping out by my mailbox until the mailman comes with goodies from you. I know you’re funding this tour on your own and your dates are probably all set…but can I suggest you consider making a trip out to Las Vegas, NV?!? It’s pretty awesome out here…just so ya’know! ;) I would offer up our spare room, except it’s covered in random things that need to be donated and we have a giant half Dane/half-horse puppy that might scare your cat loving heart. :)

Happy Mardi Gras!
Vanessa

Joy. I can’t wait to come to your book signing. I am a new groupie. Made your salted carmel cheesecake pie for a contest, and your coconut roasted kale, both were crazy good. Love the podcast too. Hope that you’re having fun with the book tour….see you in a few days.
