Wedding Cake: almost the end

Wedding Cake: almost the end

mmm. mmm. mmmmmm.

There were a lot… and I mean aaaaaa loooooot of steps between this bowl of batter and decorating this wedding cake onsite, ten minutes before the ceremony.

I want to tell you about all those steps.  The dowels, the driving, how I tried to turn the inside of my car into a refrigerator, the stacking, the piping… all of it.

First though… I have to go buy my Dad lunch for Father’s Day.  Then… I think there’s an episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey that I have to um… not go watch.  I’m sure you understand.

Aw, the cake is so cute. It looks like you used buttercream? Super pretty! I really hate fondant on wedding cakes, especially how you can peel it off. Gross city.

The cake perfectly matches their invites and theme–good job! I can’t wait to see the completely finished product and see everything you did. Wedding cakes stress me out too–I’m doing one for July 3 and I’m going out of town today for the week so I’m a little time-deficient. I have to tell you, I haven’t been to your blog in quite a while b/c I mainly check those that I subscribe to by email. You can imagine how excited I was to see you now have an email subscribe service! Baking is my passion and I’ve always loved your blog…the few times I’ve remembered to check it. :)

So, did you like the most recent Housewives? I’m addicted. Such crazy behavior – it’s hard to pull my eyes away from it. Like a moth to light.

All the work worth it. I love it!!! So fresh and cute.. CONGRATS. I’ve never made a wedding cake and I’m afraid the day someone ask me my first one. I’ll start to shiver and I don’t know when I’ll stop.

    Best regards.

Such a lovely cake indeed, can’t wait to read the final wedding post.
Really, do lots of people bake their own wedding cake? This came to me as a huge surprise, nobody would ever do it here in Italy, this shows we are too lazy I think.
