Peach and Cardamom Lemonade

Peach and Cardamom Lemonade

It would seem as though I’m trying to drink my way through the rainbow, lemonade style.  First there was bright red with Beet Lemonade.  Here we have a  pretty peachy-orange color with Peach Cardamom Lemonade.  We also worked in the deep purple with Fresh Blueberry Mint Lemonade.

I’ve missed green lemonade but I figure we can work some sort of cucumber jalapeño situation into our future.

I’ll tell you now, I’m showing no signs of stopping this drinkable rainbow.  Hop on the lemonade train now!  I know you’re thirsty.

Peach and Cardamom Lemonade

This Summer is brought to you by lemons, over-ripe fruit, and a dose of sugar.  Cheers to us!

Peach and Cardamom Lemonade

Coarsely chopped peaches (super ripe, skin and all), brown sugar, ground cardamom, and fresh lemon juice.

Blend!

Peach and Cardamom Lemonade

It’s like a super lemon and peach smoothie.

Strainer to separate the skin and pulp from the juice.

Peach and Cardamom Lemonade

This lemonade is pretty even in its mess.

peach and cardamom lemonade

This concoction is a mixture of lemon tart and sweet peach.  The brown sugar adds a happy depth of sweetness and the cardamom lends that spicy finish that feels ohh so slightly like peach pie.

I went easy on the sugar in this recipe, creating a pretty pucker-y lemonade.  Add a bit more brown sugar for less pucker.

Happy August to us!

  • crushed ice for serving

Instructions

  1. In a blender combine chopped peaches (skin and all), brown sugar, cardamom, and lemon juice. Blend to a smoothie-like consistency.
  2. Pour into a fine mesh strainer placed over a medium bowl and press the mixture through the fine mesh strainer leaving some of the peach skin and pulp behind. Discard what is left in the strainer.

I made this today, and it was the perfect drink to sip on while grilling dinner. Definitely more tart than sweet. It’s summer in a glass. Thank you!

Finally a way to use the (way too many) peaches we picked that isn’t dessert or jam. Thanks for another amazing recipe!

Thanks much for this recipe. I just tried it and it’s fantastic. I would love to make a big batch for a cookout. If I placed the peaches and the lemons in the juicer then added water do you think it would be the same as the original???

This is a summer staple – perfect for when you are having children over, or people who are not drinking. I am breastfeeding, so we made this as non-boozy alternative for a party, but it was gone much more quickly than the cocktails! xx

This recipe is absolutely lovely by itself, but I would probably add a shot of bourbon ;)

You’ll need:⁣
- A thawed sheet of puff pastry, fridge cold⁣

Lightly roll a sheet of puff pastry and slice into six rectangles. ⁣
Brush each rectangle with egg wash. Arrange each with two slices almond paste. Pull two corners of the puff pastry up and over the paste, pressing lightly to seal. Brush lightly with egg wash. ⁣

Transfer to a small, parchment lined baking pan and allow to rest in the freezer while the oven preheats to 425 degrees f. ⁣
⁣
Bake from chilled for 12 minutes. Remove from the oven and again lightly brush with egg wash. Top with almond slices and bake for 6-8 minutes more. Keep an eye as to not burn the almonds. ⁣

Just tryna get the most cheese on my most simple s Just tryna get the most cheese on my most simple small-batch bagel recipe. Get in on this with me: ⁣
⁣
2 Easy No Yeast Bagels⁣
1/2 cup self-rising flour⁣
4 tablespoons greek yogurt (plus a teaspoon or two more if needed)
1 large egg, beaten for egg wash⁣
1/3 - 1/2 cup grated gouda or gruyere⁣
Everything bagel seasoning⁣
3 tablespoons baking soda with 2 cups of boiling water. ⁣
⁣
Place a rack in the upper third of the oven and preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray the paper lightly with nonstick spray. ⁣
⁣
In a small bowl, use a firm spatula to work together the flour and yogurt. Add a few teaspoons of yogurt if it feels dry and knead into a cohesive ball for 5 minutes or so. Sprinkle with a bit more flour if it gets overly sticky. Cover with a damp paper towel and gather your toppings. ⁣
⁣
Divide dough in two and roll each piece into a roughly 8-inch rope. Bring the ends around and pinch into a circle. ⁣
⁣
Sprinkle the bottom of the prepared pan with grated cheese in two spots. Pour boiling water over the baking soda and float each bagel in the water for 20 or so seconds. Use a slotted spot or spatula to transfer the bagels on top of the cheese. Brush lightly with egg. Sprinkle with more cheese and everything bagel seasoning. ⁣
⁣
Bake for 20 - 22 minutes until deeply golden and bubbling. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and smearing with cream cheese.
