Friends. Hi.
You might know that I just finished working on my first cookbook. It’s a baking book…. duh. I spent months knee deep in butter and sugar and flour and cream. It was delicious. It was overwhelming. It made my waist bigger. It made my pants tighter. How could it not!? I think I was absorbing butter and sugar through my pores. Wait. Can you gain weight through your pores? Call a scientist.
After I turned in my manuscript, I decided to clear out my system with a cleanse. Before you tune out… listen. I’m not a cleanse girl. I’m not particularly fancy. I really really really like to eat food. I just thought this might be a good thing to do for my body to regulate my sugar cravings and try to get myself back in control. I don’t own a scale. I wasn’t trying to lose weight. I just thought a few days of wholesome juices might be a good way to counteract the constant stream of butter I had allowed into my system.
I embarked on a three day juice cleanse with Blue Print Cleanse. The word ’embark’ makes this process sound far more daunting that it actually was. This post is more words that I ever write on my blog. I just wanted to tell you what happens when a girl that is totally into food only drinks juice for three days.
In the days before my juice cleanse I tried to revamp my diet. I stayed away from meat. I ate salads. I drank tea. And I don’t want to talk about how many french fries I ate…. the number is more than 10. Whatever.
Day One: Alright belly. Food is so… yesterday. I start off strong with the juices. Juice. Water. Tea. Water. Juice. Everything is going along just swimmingly. And (miracle of all miracles) I’m totally not hungry. Well well well. Imagine that! I have a pep in my step, I go for a long bike ride, and I’m stoked on the day. Unfortunately, it all came to a screeching halt when I went for my first colonic. See… the BPC website highly suggests you go for a colonic during your cleanse. I wanted to get the full cleanse experience. Um… I’m sure this procedure works for some people. It’s just not for me. (If you’re feeling faint at the mere mention of a colonic, feel free to skip the next paragraph.)
…If you don’t know what a colonic is… google it. It’s a hot mess. I hated every single second of it. Sweet Lord. Not ok. The lady tried to convince me that I had major problems going on inside my body. Um… guess what super ancient colonic lady? I totally don’t believe you. I’m pretty sure I’m young and healthy, and I take care of my body, and the major problem with my body right now is the hose you have shoved where the sun don’t shine. Kindly remove that hose, your hands, the giant massager you insist I put on my belly. Get everything off me exactly right now so I can run screaming from this place. The classical music isn’t helping. What are you doing on your iPad, colonic lady!? You’re like… 80. Are you playing solitaire? Cause that’s annoying. Oh Lord. Help. Stop saying I have high cholesterol. Did you know there’s a legit test for that? Yea. Check your iPad. There’s nothing wrong with me…. except for the fact that all I want to do now is sit in the fetal position and eat cheeseburgers. See what you’ve done? Thanks for that.
Day One (the saga continues)… I don’t eat cheeseburgers. Ooooh heavens. I really want to. It’s not that I’m hungry, it’s just that I want fat in my face after such a traumatic experience. I push through, drink more juice and handle my business. The first day was much easier that I thought it would be. I thought I’d suffer without cookies and kale and rice and bacon…. the things I normally eat. There’s was no suffering! I even struggled to finish all of my juices because I felt so full.
Day Two: Whoa! I woke up from the craziest dreams. Not scary-clown crazy… but vivid and topical and totally appropriate for where my brain is. I was dreaming about issues that I’ve shoved to the back of my brain in an effort to avoid. … But after one day of no food, they all can rushing forward. It felt good. I felt like I could settle some things and get some clarity. Now… I know this sounds totally hippy-dippy… and this is totally not my style. But!! I felt like I had some amazing mental clarity. My brain felt unclogged and I didn’t even know it was stopped up. I took some time to sit and be quiet in prayer. Supreme.
What’s up lunchtime? It’s not that I’m hungry… It’s just that I want a giant sandwich for my face. I had meetings on my second day of the cleanse. That means that I had to be out in the world, interacting with people… normal people who eat delicious food for lunch. I had juice. I didn’t make a bit deal out of it. I didn’t feel superior. I didn’t feel fancy. I just drank my pineapple juice thingy and enjoyed it.
I went to a spin class on Day Two of the cleanse. I was feeling particularly badass. I had enough energy to sweat buckets for 45 minutes. Um… where did all this energy come from? Amazing. The only slight downside was that after the mega work out, all I could think about was dinner… and beet juice didn’t really fill the dinner void. To fill the void, I heated up a mug of low sodium vegetable broth cut with hot water. I know. This sounds totally crazy. I just wanted something savory and warm and dinnery feeling and the vegetable broth solved the dinner problem.
Day Three: Alright. Another day, another six juices. By now I feel like I’m an old pro at this. I even get in the kitchen and start making this soup. It’s totally weird cooking food that you can’t really eat. It smelled really good. That’s a problem. I took pictures of the soup. I took five small tastes of the soup. I put the soup in a container in the fridge and forgot about it… until dinner time.
Dinnertime: when I naturally want to shovel food into my mouth. In a moment of weakness, I texted my friend for a dinner date. Dinner date! Since this friend had ribbed me through my whole cleanse… I thought he’d surely be happy to help me break my fast and cheat a bit. His response “I secretly hoped you wouldn’t break your cleanse”. And with that, my confidence was restored and I stuck to the juices.
After the Cleanse: Food. Food. Food. Food! It’s a day for foooooood! The one ironic bit about the first day back at food; I’m not really hungry. Like… at all. This is practically unheard of in my life. I started slow with a banana, warmed up to a small salad and had lots of tea. Amazing, my craving for sugar did not rule my life. I know in my brain that that bag of Cheetos is delicious, but for some reason I don’t need to pour it into my face.
Overall, I feel great! My wine consumption is in check, my sugar cravings have toned waaaaay down, and the jeans that were once a little tight at the waist, now fit like a dream. I can’t tell you whether or not I lost weight, since I don’t have a scale, but I can tell you that I feel great from the inside out, my skin is bright and happy and my clothes fit better… and!!! I crave whole, healthy foods now more than junk. I’m stoked.
I wouldn’t suggest this cleanse as a weight loss, ‘I need to go on a crash diet’ tool. I don’t think you should ever go on a crash diet… so there. While it seems that I did lose a few pounds on this system, I fully expect to gain some weight back… you know… since I’m eating real food again. This juice cleanse was very effective in helping me reset my food choices and I think that will benefit my waistline in the long run. Also… the juice is delicious. Deeeeelicious!
Please also note: I’ll happily chow down on some fries next week and I won’t even feel a little bit guilty.

Apparently “colonics” aren’t particularly healthy for you. It might be worth researching this before doing it again, or recommending it to others: https://thechart.blogs.cnn.com/2011/08/01/colon-cleansing-not-so-healthy-analysis-says/

This sounds very interesting. I do the Master Cleanse (Lemons, Grade B Maple Syrup, Water and Cayenne Pepper) periodically. The last time was 21 days and I didn’t feel hungry at all. The desire for food was there, just the thought of crunching something was overwhelming at times, but I was not hungry. I don’t own a scale either and don’t know what I lost but I know that most of my clothes either didn’t fit at all (too loose to wear) or those I hadn’t been able to fasten before had to be belted! The mental clarity was the most amazing thing. I am nearly 70 so struggle with the energy/mental clarity thing all the time. During the cleanse I suffered from neither.
Michelle
How funny…I am just finishing my second day of the Blueprint cleanse and I woke up this morning after the most vivid dreams too!! Things that I should be dealing with or things I had put on the back burner ….
I was also surprised about how full I would feel as I also struggled with drinking all 6 drinks on my first day. Today was easy and tomorrow is my last day. So far I have more energy, less anixety and generally feel happier and more content.
To anyone considering cleansing, go for it!! I’m hooked!
Jacqueline
I would love to try a juice cleanse… after I’m done breastfeeding. In the mean time, my hubby sure can use one!
Flo
I can’t believe you were able to do this!
I’ve always wanted to try
Patti M.
I’d try this. Maybe. It sounds like something I should do.
Caitlin
I have always wanted to try this, sounds interesting!
Jennifer Helton
Maybe I’ll use this to cure the fact that I still eat like I’m pregnant even tho my baby is 7 months old.
Jenn
I have been trying to reset my food choices for a while now, and nothing has worked thus far. I’d love to try this cleanse to finally achieve that goal. I’m tired of people thinking that I’m pregnant when I’m not:-(.
Jordan
That sounds excellent! I’ve been making a lot of healthier choices lately, and this sounds like something I’m going to try no matter what. ^_^
Jennybakesabit
Ooohhh, this is so Gwenyth Paltrow! Sign me up!
Karen
I would love to win this. I’ve been feeling for a long time that I need to push the reset button on my eating habits. If a 3-day cleanse (minus the colonic – sorry – I’m just not there) could do that I’m there!
Sam
Ah I’ve been reading so much about this lately and plan on doing a three day cleanse of my own! This is exactly what I need right now!
Samantha
I love this post! I’ve been so curious about trying a cleanse, and a short 1-3 day one to start would probably be all I can handle. Thank you for sharing!
sonya
I’ve never cleansed before, but coming from a fellow baker, your words are inspiring!
achristinaw
oooo, i’ve been eyeing this blue print cleanse for a while now! i’m getting married and this would be great before the wedding. :)
Megan
That actually sounds really good, aside from the colonic of course.
Well done for sticking with it :)
Caitlin
I’ve tried “clean” from Dr. Junger a few years ago and I liked it, but it is a 3 week cleanse. I don’t want to lose 10 lbs again, I just need to stop my cravings! The more carbs I eat, the more I want! The more sugar I inhale, the more I need it!
Thanks for the give-a-way. I love this AND all of your cookies and sweets too!
Becca
I’m totally intrigued. I might actually feel compelled to try a cleanse. *gasp!*
Nadine
Congrats on making it through!
mary
No, please tell me I’m not toolate!
kati
eh, I’d give it a try. Not the colonic part, though. ew.
Jen
Thanks for the description — definitely sounds like it’s worth a try!
Franci
I’ve been curious about this…this may be a good way to try it out!
Katie
I have mixed feelings about cleanses but would love to try out the BPC!
jcro
Damn, I think I missed the cut off time to enter this give away b/c I didn’t check my email all week. Oh well. I just bought a book called “Clean” by Dr. Junger that I read about through another blog I subscribe to. I’ve been meaning to do a cleanse for some time I just need the weather to get a little bit warmer. I can’t give up eating warm, comforting food when it’s 20 degrees outside. That and, to finish off the cookies I baked last week – I can’t let those go to waste now can I?
Congrats on feeling better and mastering some of your food cravings. I can’t wait to have control of those again and to feel lighter and clearer, etc.
PS – Are you going to give us the recipe for that delicious looking soup you photographed up there?
Thanks!!
nathalie
This is a great post! Thanks for your honest review of the cleanse. I would love to try it!
joythebaker
comments closed. thanks everyone!

So this promises to cure my sugar addiction? Then, I surely need.
Sarah
This is actually pretty awesome. Cleanses are usually conversation topics brought up by the kind of people who won’t eat sandwiches, it seems. This is refreshing, as I find them fascinating. And also financially unreasonable. But fascinating.
Shannon
i’ve heard of this cleanse and wanted to try!! what a great opportunity :)
Mollie
I would love to win this!
kacey
I’d love to try a cleanse and heard this one is great. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Lena
Ohhh I want to try this cleanse. I’ve recently become a vegan and it seems like it would cleanse away my heed for delicious dairy! Not o mention my biggest problem, sugar!
Jessica
Cleanse! Sounds awesome. I love juice :)
Monica Selby
I’ve always been intrigued with cleanse and i think i should try it out!
Jenn
My allergist (who I don’t actually get to see until May) thinks sugar is the root of a lot of the problems I’ve been having. This might be a good way to help get my cravings, etc. under control and see what happens. Eating is always easier in the spring too, but I have doubts it will ever actually show up. Thanks for the cleanse info!
allisonemme
i’ve been wanting to try a juice cleanse for sooooo long! way to go and be all inspiring :)
Carrie
Can’t wait to try this!
Sara
Great post and it’s great to get down to earth perspective on cleanses (and colonics)!
heather
It is rainy and sleety and snowy out.
I need something to help me feel sunny on the inside!
sarah
I’ve always wanted to try this, but been a little weary! After reading your experience, I think I could do it. Thanks for sharing this!
Carrie
I’ve heard so so much about the Blue Print Cleanse! This sounds like the perfect chance to try it! Thanks, Joy :)
Jordan
I would love to try this! I crave sugar constantly and am also trying to lose weight. I think this might be a good way to jumpstart healthy eating!
Lalena
I am pretty sure that nothing on earth could make me go for a colonic. Nope. The feeling great and energized and not craving sugar all the time part, though, just might convince me. Maybe.
Nicki
I have always wanted to do one of these, but the thought of not eating always put me off (I would eat all day, everyday, if my body wouldn’t revolt against me). After reading your post, and seeing that someone with a love of baked goods comparable to my own was able to do it, I’m seriously considering making the attempt. Thanks so much for sharing!
Rachel
no one is sticking anything up my butt, but I’d LOVE to do a juice cleanse!
xo

Kate
Dude – you are one brave lady! I’d love to try that, you’ve inspired me!
Martha
I read this just after I finished off half a bag of chocolate covered pretzels, preceded by two mini-Heath bar crunches and a couple of mini-Butterfingers. So….the idea of a food/body reset sounds pretty great right now. I’d love to try that cleanse.
jaxanahalf
I love delicious juices and mental clarity! I will take both gladly :)
Marisa Leigh
I have been reading ‘Clean’ by Alejandro Junger and contemplating doing his cleanse. However his is 21 days!!! Yikes – maybe starting with a 3 day cleanse might be more manageable. Great post – I loved reading about your experience.
nycsintern
not going to lie… have heard awesome things about BPC and reading your blog just made me want to do it more.. solidified by the possible chance i could win the cleanse. (atleat 8 people in my office have done it so far) so please pick me, id love to blue print cleanse :)
terri
Love Love Love the BPC!!! I’ve done all levels! I can’t wait to do it again!!! :)
Lindsay
My mom has done the Blue Print Cleanse and I’ve always wanted to (I’m such a sugar-aholic!) but it’s expensive. So this would be great. So pick me!!!
Linsey
I NEED this. Just moved and I am feeling downright sluggish from all the good food i’ve been trying in my new neighborhood!
cho
Hmm… would love to try this out.
Rachel
YAY! You have inspired me to try it even if I don’t win. What you described is exactly what I need!!!
Tara
Sounds like a great experience. I need something like this to get my sugar addiction in check pronto.
Liz Chism
Oh, I love doing cleanses too! I feel so great afterward! Now I know I have a friend who won’t think I’m too crazy when I go on a cleanse :)
Catherine
I have been so curious about what a cleanse would be like, thanks so much for documenting it and in such a raw and entertaining manner! Some will power and energy you have! Cycling on Day Two, seriously intense, love it!
Sign me up to be in the running for the BPC!!! :)
Kerry
Many coworkers have done this and enjoy it!
Kimberly M.
Oh pick me…I need a cleanse!
Emily
Hmmmm, I don’t know if I’d be able to go for that long without food. How filling can juice be? I always get so sleepy when I don’t eat enough, haha. This would be interesting to try out, though. :)
Neha
I’ve heard sooo often that cleanses work miracles, and would love to try one!!
Erica
I’ve wanted to try a cleanse for ages, but don’t own a juicer and couldn’t get over the sticker shock of the pre-juiced plans. This looks rad!
(Also – the bee story cracked me up. I would have done the same thing if a bee invaded my shirt…)
Karin
I have read about this cleanse but the price point does not allow me to just “try it”… so this would be a great chance to!
BTW thanks for always the great reads on your blog.
Corey
All the white carbs I’ve been eating lately have made me feel gross! This would be a great way to revamp my diet!
Natalie S.
The cleanse looks interesting! I’ve always heard juice cleanses give you more energy. I’d love to try it out.
Natalie
I want the cashew milk!
Melissa Rich
Heaven knows I’ve got some cravings to cleanse!
Kari
I would love to try this out!
Francesca
Recently found your blog and have supremely enJOYed it! Love the way you write. And a cleans would be really cool, too :)
Kristen
My body needs this!
Jen
I’ve always been mildly skeptical about cleanses, but lately, I feel so gross every time I eat, no matter what it is, that a cleanse– especially a short one– is beginning to sound very appealing.
Kelly
The closest I’ve come to doing a cleanse is picking up a couple brochures. I totally would like to do one, but financially, it’s hard!
Zoe
I’ve been meaning to get a colonic for quite some time now. Hmnnn. More power to ya. I would like to try out a cleanse though.
hailey
I never knew that a cleanse could help regulate your body so well! thanks for the info :)
Rosaria
I would love to try the cleanse.
Emily
hmmm… i’ve always been completely against the whole cleanse thing because it seems like such a fad, but lately i’ve actually felt like it might be the only help for my weirdo body feelings and after reading your twitter post when you started this… i considered it, for real. then i saw the prices and thought maybe i could just do it on my own… maybe. i really want to win, but will most likely do it eventually anyway because you convinced me it’s not just a fad. it actually helps. oh and thanks for the heads up on the colon invasion. i almost bought a groupon and now i’m glad i didn’t.
Naomi
I never thought of doing a cleanse but this looks pretty good.
stacy
I would love to try the Blue Print cleanse!
Joy Groupie
Love the blog and since I make far too many of the things I find on it, I suppose I could stand to cleanse the system a little. Not doing the colonic though, there’s just no way.
lovely coconuts
I would love to win this cleanse!! Love your recipes too :)
Ari
I would love to try this!
Becki D.
I can’t believe you went for the colonic. You are much, much braver woman than I.
Though I would love to try the juice cleanse without the hoses. I am a sugar fiend – I could totally use a reset. And if it’s a deeeelicious reset – SCORE!
Marissa
So my New Year’s Resolution is to eat healthier. Thus far, I’m failing. I think it’s the rebel in me. See, I’m doing a yoga teacher training program and my instructor is always encouraging us to eat healthy. No sugars, no fat, no caffeine. As soon class is done, I’m out of there to go stuff my face with all that and then some. I need a cleanse to reset. Perhaps then I conquer my sugar cravings. Fingers crossed that I’ll win!
Heather
I’ve tried the “GOOP” detox (found on Gwyneth Paltrow’s blog) and found similar results (reduces sugar cravings, etc). It’s a little less intense, and gives you ideas of healthy foods to add to your regular diet.
nycgal
I’ve been wanting to try this cleanse for a while now, because I get smoothies at a juice bar that carries it! I would love to try it for free for a day before putting all that money towards it.
Lucy
I honestly never thought about doing a cleanse, but now that I read your experience I am definitely interested!
Fit Chick in the City
I loved reading your experience on BPcleanse! I’m starting mine tomorrow and am quite nervous to be honest. That being said, since it’s so expensive I’d love to win a free one day cleanse. Thanks for offering an awesome giveaway!
molly
I would love to try BPC! i see their trucks everywhere and i’ve been trying to convince friends to do it with me for moral support. so far, no takers.
Annie
I have seen other cleanses before and never really felt like they were anything but a weight-loss gimmick–this sounds like it’s more my speed. I’d love to try it! Thanks!
Megan P.
Joy, I am so proud of you for your sugar control- it’s my greatest love and biggest downfall as well! :)
rebecca
love to try….been dying to do it!!
JennMM
Very intriguing, interested due to your personal story
Jacquelyn
Oh gosh a colononic sounds horrendous! But the overal positive outcome of the cleanse seems worth, I’d love to try and do one. Also do the juices taste good? Because I would hate to have to drink yucky juice for three days straight.
Lisa
I love how it feels after you’ve completed a cleanse! Like you can start over!!
Claire
New fan of your blog.
Had a similar bee experience – only mine involved my skirt! Still hoping I never see anyone who witnessed that event EVER again.
The cleanse sounds like it did a lot of good. Very interesting.
Love your blog!
Gita
I would love to try this cleanse. Not sure about the colonic – but I believe a juice cleanse will get my sugar cravings under control. Love your blog and the writing style…
Jessica
This sounds so cool! I’m really hoping to win but if not, I may see if I can rustle up the money to try it myself. In the past few months I’ve been diagnosed with a rare form of arthritis (I’m only 37) and they can’t figure out why and what’s causing it etc. etc. So I’ve been trying to find some natural remedies and this sounds like just the thing to kick that off. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed. And I’m really glad it made you feel so great too! Thanks!
Maz
Excellent post, and hilarious story about the colonic lady! Hopeful for the juice…
Vicki
Love this concept and could totally use a cleanse! So much butter lately that I have purchased it in bulk at Sam’s club!
nasim
i desperately need this
nasim
i’m in desperate need of this cleanse!!!
Gina
woahhh i was JUST trying to persuade my roommate to do a cleanse with me.
this is just what my body needs (: so ready to go all out hahah
jennibean
School, junk food, school, junk food, school, and some more junk food on top of that.
A cleanse would make for a pretty sweet spring break, only to be proceeded by some delicious food whipped up from this blog.
Jennifer Erskine
I did a 7 day detox once but this sounds much more easy to handle…I would try it…but the colonic….well that is another story
aimee c.
this sounds interesting, however, i would opt out of the colonic. =/
PKR
Hey! I’d like some of that juice, please please please. :)
Chelsea Glancy
Ooo la la, I’m liking the looks of this! I’d love to try it out :)
Amelia
Ok, at first I thought it sounded crazy, but by the end of your post, I’m totally fascinated!
Erin
I would love to try it! Love your blog by the way!
Abby
Ah you make me giggle Joy. And I would love to try a cleanse!

Grace Park
i need a cleanse! thanks for the giveaway!
tara
Yes, I need something to excite my insides and feel super healthy!
Libby
ohh, I’m kinda intrigued?!?
Jenn Post
ok, I could TOTALLY use something like this right about now! I am trying to wean myself of sugar, at least in the crazy quantities I currently consume. also fats, carbs… I just eat really unhealthy, basically anything I want to when ever I want. I need some discipline!!!
thanks for the chance to win, what a great opportunity to try this!
Jenn Post
nblekatt(at) hotmail.com
Hayley
I’m intrigued – except for colonic lady I want nothing to do with her.
jen
looks very very interesting. i am intrigued and would love a chance to try the cleanse.
rebecca.k
Congrats on your cleanse! I did a 21-day cleanse last summer, and it was great…well after the first week anyway. No wheat, no caffeine, no dairy, no nuts. Wow, that was hard! Like you, I had the vivid dreams and increased energy. I also lost 11 pounds (which I have kept off) and diminished circles under my eyes. I would love to try another one, and a three-day cleanse sounds perfect!
Sara
I could definitely use a brain (and body) cleanse right about meooowwwwww.
Alina
interesting!
Aleathia
I would be interested in that.
Katie
I’ve been wanting to do a cleanse I just don’t know where to start! (And as a college student I’m too poor). I would love to try this out!
Sheila
sure I would try this!
Mimi
I would love to try this cleanse! Thank you.
claudia
I adore your blog. And I would say that i want to be you when I grow up but we might be the same age, so what do you say in that occasion?
anyway, I love your blog.
Wendy
Ditto!!!
Michelle Stewart
Sounds like something I would like to try.
Natanya @ Fete & Feast
I saw on twitter that you were doing the BP Cleanse and so then I went to read about it. And then I wondered what it would really be like. And then I read you post – so now I know. And I’m doubly-sure I don’t want to do the colonic. I mean really, the name itself is just gross. But, I’m a little more convinced the cleanse might be worth it, particularly for a foodie. Thanks for being wiling to share your cleansing fun.
Minnesotamom
I’d be willing to give it a shot! Thanks for introducing me to BPC.
Summer
First time to your blog and I was in tears with laughter with your colonic story, even read it to hubby. You have me thinking about the cleanse though as you sound like a down to earth person with a great out look. Thanks !
Rachel
Woah, that sounds like a great idea.
I’d love to do a bodybrain cleanse. This Ohio weather is clogging up my mind. :)
liz f.
it would be great to do a cleanse heding into spring… thanks for the chance to win!
Kelly L.
I want to try this! I think I need it right now, I’ve been up to my eyeballs in pizza and mountain dew lately.
melanie
1 day? surely i could do that. right???
Ashley .
I have never done a cleanse, and I think my husband and kids probably thank me for it! I am not a happy person when I am hungry. However, you have inspired me to consider one…I think I am a sugar addict (secretly!). Maybe I will win and get to try it out…:0)
jodi
i bet you are so proud of yourself for making it through the 3 days!
Laura
Totally need this. I think I have become a sugar junkie!
Genevieve
Your story sounds like exactly what I imagine would be going on in my own head during such a cleanse. Sounds like a challenging, and enlightening experience!
Rachel Payne
Thank you for sharing your experience, I love how you made it fun to read! I am a little scared of trying something like this but i know I need to do it. I am excited to try out the cleanse and how good it will be for me.
Lene S.
Super, the exercise and sunshine had a lot to do with it I am sure. Thanks JOY
Alison
I’m really interested to try this, but the science behind it is… strange. Plus, it is hard to justify the cost unless you really feel better and eat healthier for a long while afterwards.
I’d love to win the book or the one day trial to see for myself, but the other thing that seems weird about this is that it is sort of a hidden advertising that sneaks up on you. I’m not sure if it is evil or genius.
Kat
Doing a cleanse is on my life list! How cool would it be if I won?
Tammy Fox
Hoping to cleanse! Thanks for taking us along on your journey!
Zemma
I would love a cleanse right now. I am working towards getting rid of the baby weight.
Marie M
Cleansing sounds nice.
Sandy
Hmmm – sounds kind of a like a zen thing – this could be a very good thing for me right now –
Amy K
I’ve heard about this! Sounds so rad! Totally want to get in on it.
Elizabeth
This sounds amazing. I’m really impressed that as a foodie you were able to stick with it and found it had great results. I’ve been on a 3 month course of iv antibiotics for a nasty pneumonia that I had and I’ve been thinking about doing a cleanse after it’s all over to purify my system. A day of juice from these folks seems like a great way to start.
Really, good work on the cleanse. Readjusting priorities, especially with food, is crazy hard and I’m so glad to hear that you feel you were successful.
Jill Lu
I’ve wanted to try a cleanse for awhile. Mostly because I have serious stomach issues, and I when I give my body a chance to not have to digest it always loves me back.
Christa
Juice….only juice for 3 days? Not to sure about that. I am on day 2 of no sugar and alcohol. But nothing for 3 days? Sounds a little crazy.
Sharon
Yes, please!
Macy
I’m about 5 weeks into culinary school and this cleanse sounds like EXACTLY what I need right now. I’ve gone from eating barely no meat and lots of veggies to eating about half a barnyard every day. Tummy soothing tea is my new bff and I feel like ass most of the time. I want my energy back! Please choose me!
kristen
WOOHOO!! That sounds so healthy and encouraging and normal even though its something that I secretly want to do but dont know how to start. thanks for this post. and, psh, the whole blog really.
Misti
Do you think it’s a coincidence that I happened across your blog after eating 3 cookies and basicaly crap all day today? I think not. Listening to how good you feel makes me want this, about as badly as I want another cookie right now.
Lord help me!
Rachel
I’ve always been curious about cleanses…
Deirdre S.
This would be great for me to do! Too much vacation, pants a bit tight, need to get back on track!
Aimee S
So weird, today I was just talking to a friend who did this cleanse last year. After eating a massive amount of fried food tonight I know I have to do this!
Marie
you’ve tweaked my interest!
Jacqueline
Heard about Blue Print on GOOP and was intrigued, now that my favorite food blogger (That’s you Joy)
is recommending it – I want it!
heather
Yes, please. My body would thank you kindly.
Mel
I would love to try this!
Liza
Wow; I’ve never ever read about a cleanse that doesn’t make me really uneasy. This looks amazing! I would love to try it.
Ps. Every time I visit your blog I find something new to add to my “Recipes” bookmarks…. you rock!
rands
I’ve been secretly wanted to splurge on the bpcleanse since I read about it last year. The juices sound tasty and I am in need of some sugar craving control myself.
Elly from NC
I’d love to be entered to win the cleanse.
Also, I’ve just recently started reading your blog, and I love it Joy!
alexis
so, my baby bro is visiting pdx for the first time and naturally all we have done is EAT. seriously. i’m pretty sure today involved voodoo donut AND ice-cream. whatever. we so did yoga too. anyway, it’s just about spring and i’m ready for cleanse. so yes please.
also, thank you for confirming all my colonic related fears. i will never do that.
Stephanie K
Sounds interesting!
katie martino
yes, please, i wanna feel like that!!!
Anna Banana
Would LOVE to do this cleanse!! Training for my first 10K and could definitly use a burst of energy! Mentally clarity is definilty needed with 5 boys in my house!! Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
Suzanne
crazy that you just did this, I’ve been looking into/wanting to try one for the last few weeks (I blame my yoga instructor for putting the idea in my head) of course its a bit out of my price range for juices at the moment, but I’m so glad to hear that it made you all peppy/glowy/healthy :)
Becky
Sounds interesting!
Kara
I enjoyed reading about your experience! This would be very interesting to try out.
Toyia
I love how you describe using the cleanse to reset your food cravings! I meet so many people who are cleansing because of some idea that they are ‘impure’… Good job!
Eileen
You’ve made me curious, and I also have a sugar craving that needs to be curbed.
tasha w
would love to try it!
nuttmegs17
Why yes please :)

Comment :)
Michelle
Hi Joy! I’d love to try this cleanse. I’ve had my fair share of trying cleanses… the cabbage soup diet unfortunately being one (lowest of lows), but this one seems awesome and reasonable! Also, you are my inspiration – I’m obsessed with this blog and you seem awesome! :)
Careen
I always wanted to try one of these juice cleanse thingys, but never knew which way to go. The colonic scares me too, so i’ll stick with juice if I can.
Lola
juice me babay!
jennifer
sounds intense and exactly what i need :) thanks for a chance to win joy!
j.
Rachel
This sounds very interesting and I think something like this would be great for me to do! I struggle with constantly craving sugar as well and its hard to fight.
Nicole
Not sure I could do 3 whole days no food but one day I could handle.
Rhea
This sounds like something I NEED to do!
Bree Hinkley
Felicidades on successfully finishing your cleanse! I’m an elementary teacher who CRAVES chocolate and wine by the end of the day… a cleanse would do me some major good. And that energy boost?? That’d be WON-DER-FUL. :)
Nancy L
I could use a little jump start to eating healthy foods…this sounds awesome!
Brenna
Never done a cleanse before. Interested and terrified. Help!
Rhonda
1630, now make that 1631 comments … do you realize the following you have? Put me in for the giveaway, would love to try it.
payal
i like juice.
Carol
I’ve lately been struggling with my diet. I’d like to decrease my fat intake. I think this cleanse would give me a running start. Please consider me.
Kira
This sounds marvelous!
Emily p
I would like to try the cleanse
cleartrampoline
I have been wanting to do a cleanse for a while, this one sounds totally interesting!
Kathy
I’ve never done this but it sounds really interesting. Ever since having my daughter I’ve craved sweets. It’s annoying. I never craved this stuff before. It’s because I’m telling myself I can’t have it. This sounds like it might help! Love to try it!
Lydia
Sounds like a good jump-start for spring!
Bess
Wow sounds so interesting! I would certainly give it a try.
Sharilyn
I had always wanted to try a juice cleanse!
Christina
Sounds like a good way to jumpstart into spring after all the heavier winter foods we’ve been eating at our house.
KatieW
I’ve been very tempted to try a cleanse lately and this post is not helping!
cadybug
Oooooo I would love to try this!
Colleen
No shame in “amazing mental clarity.” If more people had it, the world would be a much better place. I’ll help with that. Bring on the juice!
Leslie
I could always use a cleanse! It seems like in the winter my body just stores EVERYTHING I eat!
Christina
I’ve never tried a cleanse but sounds like a good thing to try…minus the colonic!
Joanna
Wow! I definitely need to get my food cravings in check. I think I’ll skip the colonic, though. ;-)
Jenny
I just got back from Vegas. My body could use a cleanse!!
Stephanie
I have been looking into the BPC for a while, but just couldn’t rationalize the price! Thanks for such an awesome giveaway opportunity!
Wen
Joy, you just crack me up! Thanks for making me laugh today. Sounds like something interesting to try… :o)
Carissa
I’ve looked into this cleanse system before I just can’t afford it! It sounds really interesting and I would love to cleanse my body with something that is good for it, other cleansers scare me!
Love your blog, I wish i could eat everything you make!!
Sarah
After all the mexican food I just gorged myself on my body is craving a cleanse!
lisa p
I’ve been wanting to do a cleanse. Hope I win!
Candi
I’ve lost 7lbs…would love to try for a few more!!
Sarah
I’ve been interested in this cleanse for awhile. Read about it on a wedding blog (when I wasn’t even engaged –sheepish grin) and would love to give it a try for free :).
Ali
Thanks for the post! Your blog is amazing and whenever there’s something uber healthy on here I know it tastes good too (aka – vegan chocolate avocado cake). I’ve been juicing every day for a month or so instead of eating lunch but haven’t brought myself to try juicing for an entire day let alone three days. The effects of juicing are amazing and I’ve experienced everything you wrote about, probably to a smaller degree though. Thank you for your honest and hilarious posts =)
Leah
Sounds like an adventure.
I’m in
Nancy M.
I’d love to try this cleanse. I haven’t done one before because I thought I’d be exhausted and HANGRY, but you give me hope!
Giovanna
I’m not that kind of girl… :)
I commend your courage
Kelly Mac
I’m a juice lover…my body could use a cleanse after all the cheesecake it has been consuming lately.
Justeen @ Blissful Baking
This post had me laughing out loud! I most definitely will NEVER go for a colonic now :)
Ellen
I’m game! Let’s do it!
Shanda
Would love to win the BPC book. I’ve heard so many good thing about the cleanse.
I know I’m long overdue for one.
Thank you for the opportunity to win! :)
S. Lynn
This would be difficult for me as I have a fetish for chewing. If I could just have a tube with open/shut valve coming out of my neck into a disposer then I could eat all I want and chew chew chew without gaining an ounce. Now that I go back and read this, it sounds sort of sick.
Cassie
I love your blog. As a college student, I dream of one day being able to make all of the delicious food on your blog. You are one amazing person, and I can’t wait to see what’s next in store.
joyjoy
I’ve heard of Blue Print and have wanted to try out their cleanses for a while, so I’d be super excited to win this!
Bri
I would love this! I too have been trying to get my act together and I just began my 1st marathon training week yippie! This would be a great start to a healthy new beginning… with the occassional pastry of course :)
Michelle
I have never done a cleanse before but I’ve always wanted to try! I’ve been massively gorging on all types of “bad” foods lately. I feel like I need a fresh start!
Julia @ 1001tealcranes
I like juice. I’m not sure about only drinking juice but I figure one day couldn’t be too hard. Note: I also said that about Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers and any other “life style” food/eatery change I’ve ever done in the past. But I like juice.
Tia
Your the second person i heard doing this cleanse after the first person i really wanted to consider it and now i do again!
Amanda Andriese
Sometimes its nice to give your body parts a break so they can rejuvinate…but then you have to pee all the stinkin time cause you drink so much juice and water!
Katie M.
I admire you for doing the cleanse! My husband has done them in the past but I’ve never thought I could. You’ve struck my curiosity though and I’d love to try the one day!
Catherine
Wow, Joy, this sounds totally radical! I was just accepted into graduate school (hooray!) and my body has been going nuts from stress. The stress isn’t over because I now have to choose which school (a good stress, but stress nonetheless). This cleanse sounds like the perfect way to clear out my mind and find inner zen! I’m totally convinced and want to try the 3-day. Also I have awesome willpower so this will be fun!
Thank you! Fingers crossed the randomizer chooses me!
Hannah G.
Awesome! What a great adventure.
Laura
I have been wanting to try a juice cleanse but haven’t been able to afford it! And I haven’t heard of the blue print cleanse but it looks great :]
Gina
As long as no colonic is required…
Christopher
I did a 14-day cleanse a couple years back and thought I’d keep up with a short one every 6 months, then didn’t because it was so daunting. Maybe this would be a good plan to get me back on track! Pick Me! Pick Me!
Joy
I have always thought about doing one of these but wasn’t sure which to do… Would love to try this one! Thanks Joy!
Stacy
I would LOVE to try this juice fast! I couldn’t really afford it, though, being a poor college student and all, but it would be great to try it for free! :)
Mimi
Joy! You’re one of my favorite cravings. Love the colonic bit. They’re sooo nobueno. I would also love to know what salad is pictured there. Looks yummy.
Stacey
This sounds very doable and for anyone a healthy cleanse is so needed. Our bodies take on so much physically and mentally. It all affects us.
Way to go Joy!
samantha
The colonic sounds terrible, I would probably just stick with the juice. I am a sugar junkie so maybe something like this would help.
Dominique
i’m in! oh by the way, what kind of salad is that? looks delish
Jill
Wow–you’ve convinced me! Never thought I’d say that:).
anna
oh my! Colonic = uber gross! Sorry you had to go through that!
AustinL
Hi Joy,
I would caution you and your readers from “embarking” on any kind of “detox” or “cleanse” without first consulting your physician. There’s no scientific basis to the claims of this or any other manufacturer of a “cleanse diet”, for the most part, and it’s possible your embarkation could result in harm to your health. At the very least have a chat with your doctor about it and provide the with the details of your diet plan.

PULEASE!

Great giveaway!
gentle reader
Oooh, I so need a cleanse. I would love to try one that is essentially done for me. Consider me entered :)
HollyJo
would love to try!
Cindy L.
Thanks for sharing your cleansing adventure with us! And I’m happy to hear you’ve finished your cookbook! So after looking at the BPC website and proceeding to checkout with a 3-day juice cleanse, I realized that they only ship within the US (I’m in Canada). It would be totally awesome if I won this giveaway since I have no other way of getting the juice…unless I make a short trip out there ;) Thanks!
Claire @ Un Bello Aperitivo
Congratulations on the book! And I’d love to try the juice.
Pastrychef23
Wow, this is an expensive program… I’m just seconds away from hitting the Purchase button on their website. But cleanses have never worked for me, especially since more than my sugar and salt cravings, I suffer from the NEED to have variety! But, I guess with a few different flavors a day, this might do the trick. :) A complimentary day’s helping might help me take the plunge!
laura
i’m so glad you wrote about your experience. i’m interested to try it!
Evelyn
I read an article about this a while back where they were just as excited as you were. I always wanted to try it, but its just so expensive!
JAime
Oh, I would love to try this juice!!
Melissa
I’m interested in trying the cleanse. I’ve also let sugar overtake my life recently…
Stephanie Liu
I have never tried any sort of cleanse or diet, but this sounds interesting!
Maggi
This sounds so interesting. I have always wanted to try a cleanse!
George Z.
mmm juice.
Diane
You are very brave. Thanks for being our guinea pig!
Evelyn
Sounds like an adventure!
BEth
I have recently changed my diet to plant-based and would be very interested in seeing the results of a cleanse. Thanks!
Delishhh
That was just an awesome story, i have never done a cleanser but sounds very invigorating!
Avi
Brava on finishing your book and for your discipline during the cleanse, Joy!
carly
great post – sounds do-able!
Kelli
Yum! Yes, please!
Shauna
I’d love to give it a whirl! Congrats on “embarking”–even if it wasn’t so awful. :)
Love the blog. No joke, when I found it, I spent 3 days reading all the posts.
Diane
I need a kick start. Pick me!
Raquel
Three days huh . . . I think I could manage for three days. I’d like to give it a try and then maybe my pants would fit better too! Love your blog, love your food — yum!
Kelly
I’m curious to see if the BPC cleanse would help with my chronic migraine
hatethekate
mmmmmm juice
charlotte s
congrats on handing in your manuscript! i’m so excited for your cookbook!
i’ve actually done the lemonade “master cleanse” for 2 weeks a few times. You slowly wean yourself off foods, and then drink just lemonade for as long as you hold out (lemon juice with maple syrup and cayenne pepper). My body always feels so healthy when I do it! I actually should go on it again, as I’ve been eating way too much sugary-food lately. I find that going on a cleanse really helps me re-prioritize my food preferences…
Astrid
Wow, this is a popular giveaway! I’d love to try the juice!
jackie
It’s nice to hear about a positive cleanse experience from someone who’s an “eater”!
Alison
Sounds interesting!!!
kate
for me, winter in the pacific nw = this:
living in darkness (depressing)
rain (i actually don’t mind this so much but it does contribute to me riding my bike, oh, never)
beer (amazing kinds everywhere i turn, all at least 9000 calories)
my winter sounds like your cookbook, except way less productive. i’ve been slowing restarting my engine and but could totally use a cleanse in the worst way. anyway… thanks for letting me get all verbose. awesome / inspiring site, btw!
Jess
This sounds great! Although a bit daunting when i read the title, you’ve convinced me that it’s a good idea
katy
That is amazing! way to stick through! I would love to try this! My husband and I went on a fast from sweets for 3 weeks and I feels so good to be cleansed from all the crap we put in our bodies!
Camille
Please enter me in the contest, I wanna try it so badly!
xoxo!
Ashley
Ive tried a cleanse before and gave up after the first day – not because I didnt want to do it – I couldnt stomach the taste of the cleanse I was doing. It litteraly made me gag (i know to much info). Id love to try this product since it seemed to work for you so well.
liz
i’ve always wanted to try bpc!!!
Raena
Sounds like a great adventure! My sugar cravings control my life!!!! HA!
Jessica
i would love to give this a try! I seriously need a re start to all my horrible cravings!!
Kaitlin
I would try the cleanse :)
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Elizabeth Eggen
You kinda made the cleanse seem easy. I wanna give it a try too. I can’t waitto look in the mirror and say my skin is clear and glowing.
Ellie Delancey
Hmmm….this sounds interesting. I’ve never tried it before so I’d give it a whirl!
Sarah
I’m impressed with your dedication! Only juice would be so hard for three whole days!
Rachel @ Grateful Girl Goes Gluten Free
AHHH if I won I would be the happiest person in the world! I am going to start the candida diet and I need to do some sort of detox before and this sounds perfect!
Stephanie
I tried a 3 day cleanse about a month ago and I loved it. I felt so clean from the inside out and my body was craving more of it. I’m going to be in a wedding in June, so this would be a perfect way to feel good in my dress. I’m ready for a 6 day cleanse!
Laura
I really appreciate your focus on trying to be healthy rather than how you look. It is a mindset I strive for, and sometimes fall short of. Too often my moods are affected by how I perceive myself. I am willing to give this blueprint cleanse a go. I certainly could use a “reset”.
Emily
Way to power through!
Melinda
I’m so impressed with your results! I’d love to try a cleanse!!
Jordan
I’ve always wanted to go on a cleanse. I hope I win! Thanks Joy.
katie
if this cleanse could help reduce your sugar cravings, i’d love to see if they could help reduce mine :) been wanting to try it for awhile, but the cost always prohibited it.
Stephanie
I am all for this juice cleanse! Just no colonic for me. NO WAY.
caitlin
I’ve been interested in this cleanse for a while. I’m glad to hear about your experience!
JMP
I have been considering a cleanse because my diet hasn’t been stellar lately & need to re-new. Would love to try this one.
Kristi
I had a baby 6 months ago and have been wanting to do a cleanse for awhile now. I’ve had my eye on the Blueprint Cleanse but have hesitated due to the cost. I’d definitely use the credit toward the 3 day cleanse!
Jenni
Three days without chewing sounds like torture to me, but I think I could handle one! :)
julia
i so need BPC in my life..!
Emily
Did you say beet juice? Be still my heart.
Diana
Sounds like a good way to reset……interesting-not sure I could get by without solids for even one day if I’m not sick, but I could give it a try.
Marlena
Thanks for sharing your experiences. LOL
Katie S
I’m definitely interested! Would love to try the cleanse.
Caroline
I think my friends and family would be much happier with me doing a 3-day cleanse instead of teh 2 week one I usually do after Christmas! noooooobody like THAT grumpy pants! :)
Laura Shapiro
I think I could do this…
Leslie
I have been thinking about doing this for a while. Thanks for the inspiration!
Sarah
That sounds great! I work at a cupcake shop and would love to get my sugar cravings under control.
Amber Hancock
Way to go girl!
Lesley ~
Luv your testimony. Sounds like the boost I need to get healthier and more food conscience. I’m so interested….xoxoL
Katie

amy
I wanna try this!
anna
This is just what i need! i just got back from vacation and im full of motivation to get my life and eating habits back in order.
Jen
I have never done a fast, cleanse or juicy diet. For the record, I am addicted to bacon cheeseburgers and fries. Please help!
Rachael
I would love to give it a try…I think. :)
Mary
This post is inspiring! I’ve been on quite a sugar kick lately and would like to get back to a more balanced diet. This post has served as a source of motivation…Thanks!
Allison
Sounds great!
lauren
so cool! you sound so rejuvenated-i want that, pick me!
Kristin
HELP! I need to cleanse all of these cupcakes out of me! ;)
Would love to try this. :)
Teressa H
The cleanse part sounds great, but the colonic… no thanks!!!
Crystl
Wow! I’ve always thought about trying a juice cleanse, but haven’t done so yet
Liisa
I’m interested in this cleanse – even though my main experience with cleanses was a scary doctor’s office visit where, amongst a cleanse suggestion, this doctor asked if I thought I had Vulcan blood, and told me my body was crying with brain attacks and fat.
meredith
eeek, I could really use a juice cleanse…I had chocolate milk last night–with a healthy splash of Wild Turkey. Not good! haha
viv
i need a cleanse!
Megan
You’re awesome. It’s not the number on the scale that matters, it’s the way you feel in your own skin. Way to be! I love your blog, btw. I recently made those browned butter pancakes with citrus… delightful!! Thanks and keep up the great work. :o)
Linda E
Would love to give it a try!!!
Natalia - a side of simple
I’ve never had a “juice” before or gone on a cleanse, so I commend you on your admirable endeavor :)
Charlene
I would love to experience this cleanse method. The thought of renewing my energy levels is ever so enticing.
CJ
Lauren
I am always intrigued to hear what people think of various cleanses – and this didn’t disappoint. not sure about the whole calonic thing, though! I’ve always wanted to try a cleanse, and i always thought it’d be hard to fit into an active lifestyle, but you proved wrong. =)
Cat
That post was pure inspiration for a cleanse! Thank you.
Mary
Joy, I totally share your food philosophy, and I wish more people did as well! I don’t own a scale. I feel like I’m healthy…I don’t really get sick. I just eat what I love in moderation (and sometimes not :)).
Thanks for reminding me!
Amanda R.
I think that this sounds pretty awesome aside from the colonic. The way you described it scared me a little to be honest. :) I do love that it was a great way to get you’re body better on track with craving and wanting the correct kinds of food. Ever since having my son in 2007 I’ve had a hard time limiting myself on the things that I allowed myself to indulge on during my pregnancy. I would love to learn more about this or be able to try it to see if it would help reset my system and maybe my metabolism. Thanks Joy for all the great posts! By the way – I made your vegan cream of mushroom on Monday because my bf left mushrooms over at my place and I hated to see them go to waste. I really don’t care for mushrooms but I ate a big huge bowl! So yummy!
karissa
I would love to try this cleanse!
racergirl1313
Very interesting read. I’d love to try the cleanse, but not the colonic, that’s for sure!
V. Juarez
My crazy husband has been talking about doing this for sooooo long.
april
Hi Joy, Love your site! I actually make a lot of your recipes for my family. The chocolate bundt, the tres leches cake, and others, and the oatmeal cookie pancakes too many times to count! I hope to win the cleanse, but if not, I’ll still probably buy it. I’d do anything to feel clearer these days!
Faith
I just finished “The Clean Diet” and did a lot of the extra cleansing things (like taking a sauna and getting a massage and doing yoga) but did not muster up the courage for the colonic. Good for you. If I win this, I’ll do the colonic this time.
Kendra
I am actually on day 3 of a smoothie cleanse, so I was super excited reading your post; it gave me just the boost I needed to finish up my own cleanse. I chose to do a smoothie cleanse as I don’t own a juicer, but would love to win the one day juice cleanse from Blue Print Cleanse! Thanks so much for the inspiration Joy!
Noelle
I have been wanting to try a cleanse-just the thing I need right before my wedding to make me feel my best!
susanna
love your recipes! going to try mushroom soup next. when you come to new york city let me know :)
Lynda
I have been wanting to try a cleanse, but never knew enough about it to choose one to try.
Pick me, pick me :)
BeccaLeah
Okay, you got me curious, I gotta try this thing! So “comment”! :-)
Jane
Oh wow, you turned something that sounded scary to me at first into something that sounds cool and interesting to try.
Allison
Sounds really interesting! Glad it ended up working out for you, minus the traumatic colonics lol!
Emily the Horrible
I was just reading about Blue Print cleanses – I have been feeling the need to recalibrate my system and listen to my body more. Then I got to the price section…no chance. I would love to have the opportunity to try it! Thanks!
Bethany
I’d love to try it!
donna
sounds like something totally interesting that i would love to try out!
Morgan
oooh I’d love to win this!
Kiki
Love love love your blog and would love to try this cleanse!
dizzy
Would love to try this…
Jenna
Cool! i’ve wanted to try this for a while.
Stephanie
Blueprint cleanse is AWESOME. I would love to do another 3-day cleanse. thinking about taking on a 5-day cleanse too.
Lee Ellis
Count me in!
Meli (Blush + Jelly)
So I googled what a colonic is – all I can say is that you are very brave to do this. I wouldn’t even consider it. Now the juice part actually sounds yummy, might try that.
Linda
I’m game!
ct
I’d love to try this!
Anne
Thank you so much for this review – it helps to hear how you overcame your struggles and the positive results from the cleanse. I am one step closer to trying one – if only I didn’t have student loans :(
Carolyn M
Amazing! My NYC friend just did the cleanse and loved it. Would love to try it.
Jamaya
Ive been stalking BPC’s website for weeks trying to decide if it was right for me but your story really inspired me. Esp the colonic segment, LOL
Jess
Awesome! I just heard of BPC recently, I think in Women’s Health magazine, and have really wanted to try it, but it’s just so not in my budget right now. I’d love to be able to give it a try for a day!
Liz
BPC is my favorite cleanse – I’ve also tried a cleanse local to Chicago, where I live. I think the hardest part of the 3 days while cleansing was not chewing. I have to say by day 3 my jaw was legitimately sore and in need of a workout! I’d love to do another BPC though, probably closer to spring. And I would love, love the BPC book!
jessica mell
I’d definitely be up for it. Thanks for letting the idea of a cleanse float around in my head…!
Bethany B
I’m really interested in the mental clarity, that bit sounded fascinating. I’ll have to try it.
rae
OMG you blessed brave soul!!! You are definately a bad ass for attempting such a daring procedure. I’ve always been curious about it but I am too much of a weinie to attempt it. On the other hand a cleanse would be a friendlier approach to getting rid of those bad things going on inside. :)
Kathleen
Hi! Great post on this cleanse!
I have wanted to try but was saving some money. I really want to give it a try now.. Thank you!
nicoleB
would love to try..!
Tami
It’s something I’ve been wanting to try.
jillian
I would love to try it- but I am not sure I could even may it one day!
Holly Thomas
I’m totally excited about this! I did it once with cranberry juice for like a week….it went well but I was totally exercising the different “Cran” options. haha.
Sonshine
GOOD FOR YOU! I hope that helped kick the butt of your sugar addiction. I use agave nectar to make drinks sweet so that I don’t do too much sugar. PLUS, it mixes easily in cold beverages, doesn’t require as much by volume, and has some extra health benefits!
I tried a weird little cleanse at the beginning of the year, and it didn’t work so well. I just felt sick the entire week. I would love to kick the butt of my sugar and fast food addiction… The juice cleanse looks amazing. I wish I could afford it… I might just Naked Juice it and see if I can make my own cleanse with Green Monster and some other of their 100% juice drinks… I need to get back on track with this weight loss. I’ve been stuck at 190 for the past 3 months (I lost 70 lbs last year from March to November and only need to loose 40 more to get back to a good healthy weight).
Anne-Marie
Ancient Colonic Lady made me spit juice on my computer! Glad you’re reset and back on solids.
Angela
obsessed with BPC… cleansing is such a test of willpower but the benefits are so worth the torture!
Joanna Swan
dear Joy,
This is so serendipitous. I have been gearing up for a cleanse of my own and seeing your post gave me just the kick in my toxin-ridden butt to get down to business.
No colonics here, just plenty of soups and juice.
What do you think about keeping fiber/pulp in your liquids? I have heard it’s better to do away with fibes of all kinds but am very reluctant to do so!
Thanks for the sweet (but not too sweet) post!
xo
Joanna Swan
Robyn
So glad that you warned me about the colonic. I am crazy but not that crazy. *shudder*
I would love to try the cleanse though!
Brooke
hollaa
Liz
This is so interesting- I would love to try the juices for myself. Thanks for being honest about your colonic experience- I have a strong feeling I would do the exact same thing.
Maria
You are brave, and you make it seem to easy! Something I would definitely consider trying.
Cori
I would love to try that cleanse!
Jessie
I’ve read about this cleanse and always wanted to do it but I was too scared! Your post gave me the confidence that I might just be able to do it. If I get a free day, I’ll give it a try!
JennR
Weird, but maybe worth a try! :)
steffy
I’ve always wanted to do a cleanse, but I’ve been a little afraid of them. Reading your account makes me even more interested! If I win, it was meant to be.
kate
Joy! You’re such an inspiration.
Katie
Way to go on your cleanse!! Super impressed, if only I could get rid of my sugar addiction. I cannot get through a meal without some sort of sweet to wrap it up.
Lara
I’ve always wanted to try a cleanse. I think I could manage 3 days. Anything more and I’d go nuts.
Rena
Ewwww…your colonic experience sounds like a giant nightmare! I don’t know if my butt cheeks will ever be unclenched.
Danielle
Hmm, I usually turn my nose up to cleanses, but this one has me curious :)
Simone
As a fellow food lover and anti-crash-dieter, I envy you for making it through the entire three days. I’m curious to try!
Katie
I’ve read about this cleanse before and I really want to try it!
Julie Rogers
wow, I had never heard of a colonic before… it sounds somewhat terrifying and intersting at the same time. a little bit “why would you do that to yourself voluntarily” and at the same time “sounds like it gets the crappy part out of you” :)
the juices sound so interesting too, i have been living in Peru and seeing the green monsters and different juices surfacing on the internet. i’ve tried to make a few.. i would love to try~
Contessa
I remember the first time I had colonics. I did it because I was having IBS and thought that by doing it will regulate my movement. I don’t think I can do it again. It was the most uncomfortable thing and I can totally relate with your experience. However, I heard that coconut oil is also a good thing to take for detox/cleanse.
Tameka
This sounds very interesting. I’ve heard people rave about cleansings before and have always wanted to try one.
Lane
Cool Joy! Sounds like a good idea to me especially since I’ll be first in line for your cookbook!
Kate
This was a great story… I’ve been considering doing one of these cleanses to get my own sugar cravings in check and I think you have me convinced!! Will most likely skip the colonic though hehe!
Alan
Wow, if you can do it…perhaps I can too!
katie o
I’m skeptical but curious, but I’d give it a shot.
D
Joy, I normally love your blog. But this is ridiculous. Cleanses are NOT good for your body, no matter what you read on the internet. These are very dangerous for a number of people, and I’m sad to see you recommending them so freely on your blog.
Sarah L.
I’m very intrigued…I’d love to give this a try!
jyoti
I tried the organic avenue LOVE cleanse when I came back from Brasil/Argentina, because I knew I would be eating lots of meat. I felt SO good – and if I were so lucky to have a personal chef, I would eat like that every day of the year (except Birthdays and Thanksgiving). But – I did miss my coffee :)
Charlotte
I have been reading a lot about this cleanse lately and I have to say that my interest is piqued!
Kristen
I would love to give the cleanse a try.
Caitlin
I definitely need to reset my sugar cravings!! This sounds great…minus the colonic
Doris
I am game
Doni
I would love to try it, I’ve always wondered about cleanses!
Kathryn
Wow this sounds cool! I live in Australia so I can’t enter the giveaway but well done for sticking with it!
JAS
This is so ironic! With Spring Break on the horizon I was feeling like a nice juice cleanse might be in order…. not a colonic though. With all my research about the different cleanses available I JUST decided that I think Blue Print is right for me. And there, here I am with my coffee, checking up on my favorite blogs and HERE IT IS! Is it a sign? Maybe….
Melissa
Would love to try this cleanse! I love reading your blog.
kristen ewer
i tried one of those crazy 72 hour cayene pepper drink cleanses once…. didnt get past 24 hours, the drink was horrible! hopefully this is better…
Sarah M
Looks less punishing that I thought it would – glad that it helped clean things out both for your body and soul.
Betsy
I need a good cleanse and this would be perfect! Best of luck with the new book!!
beth
Congrats on your cleanse and your book, too! Love your blog!!
Joanie Crear
I have never been able to make it through a juice fast because I gave in because of hunger. I’d LOVE to try this Hunger-Free one!!!
Margret
Frankly, I’d skip the colonic-part. I’m not as badass, I guess.
Jennie
I would love to try the Blueprint Cleanse! Thanks for hosting such a great giveaway, Joy!
Cassandra
Oops – overuse of the word awesome! Sorry!!
Cassandra
This sounds awesome! Ive wanted to do a proper cleanse for ages and now that my other half is stuck overseas for business it seems like the perfect time! The program you did sounds awesome, I’d love to have a chance to do it ;)
Katrine
This i too cool!
hannah
i’m sorry that i only comment when you are giving spendy stuff away. but i do read your blog regularly…and love it.
lori
oh, i’d love to try the juice cleanse! I juice on my own every morning, but mostly fruits with a little bit of green. My friend does a green juice cleanse and she swears it gives her a physical AND mental energy boost. Been meaning to try it. I’d much rather try the BPC cleanse, though…i crave that “badass” feeling!
Diane
You ARE badass! Work it, girl! :-)
KacieLyn
Joy, I live in Istanbul and have been using your blog religiously to make the foods I miss (and improve those foods with your additions of course). Because I can’t find the ingredients often or have learned to also cook cuisine from the countries I’ve lived in, I have made my own cooking blog for expats. Thanks for the inspiration!
And yes, that cleanser could really help me clean out my stomach–food poison from travels has been quite a problem for a while, my poor stomach!
Melanie R
I would LOVE to do this!!!! I’m trying to be super healthy here… it’s hard when all I can afford is junky food… Why is healthy food so expensive? Why?? Augh…
Mariana (Mary-Ellen)
Lauren and I have frequent gmail video chats about your blog. It’s happening right now. You are hilarious. The only reason I would get a colonic is to see if there are worms living inside my butt. Can’t wait for your cookbook!
ashley k
congrats for finishing the cleanse! i would really love to try this out….my sugar tooth is absolutely insatiable at times. i would love to be able to re-train my brain a little (i have a wedding dress to fit into, after all.)
Lily
This sounds cool, I’d love to try it out!
Jacqueline
Hi Joy!
You know what? I’m GLAD you tried a cleanse. Good for you! Cleanses are definitely not for the faint of heart! But they are actually really good for your body every once in a while! I do a cleanse about twice a year, but I have never tried a juice cleanse! Holy shoot, a colonic? Um, yeah I’ll probably skip that part! But the rest sounds great! I love the sounds of having MORE energy!! Woooo!
Laura
YUM! I know that’s a totally weird comment, but I loooove juicing.
Ashlae
Colonics – ugh. I once fell for the whole, “your insides are filled with gunk” and got 3 in 10 days. But damn, did I feel euphoric afterward. I’ve done a similar cleanse with a green juice and spicy lemonade – worked wonders. I did it for 5 days – let’s just say chugging gallons of water was the only thing that got me through the end..
I would LOOOOVE to try the BPC, though.
Mel
This sounds like EXACTLY what I need to be doing! My sugar cravings are ridiculous. They make me cry just a little bit on the inside. I feel like hitting the ‘reset’ button is a good idea for my pants at this point.
Libby
So. Epic. Ps yuuuuuum salad!!!!
Elyse
Cleansing is no fun – but the results are worth it. I’d love to do the BPC!
Katie
I’m “detoxing” from sugar/yeast right now and this would be super helpful.
Kara
I would LOVE to try this cleanse!! I’ve been trying to reset my eating habits.
Aubrey
This would be pretty cool to try, I’ve always wanted to do a cleanse. It’s exciting that it worked so well for you!
Leslie
Can’t wait to BPC!!!
Andrea
Wow! Sounds really interesting! I would love to try a cleanse. And would love to tone down my sugar cravings.
Sandy
Your story about the colonic… hilarious! You are a brave lady! Thanks for sharing!
jeanne
ah — your cleanse sounds amazing — i once did a 5 day tea fast – and enjoyed it very much. Juice sounds easier though – and perhaps more sustainable.
Kristen
I’d like to give this a try if it will help with the sugar cravings!
Bizzle
Cleanse me!
Sheila M.
I’ve been eating junk for the past couple of months! I would love to slap myself back into shape with some juice.
Tracy
I haven’t done a cleanse in years. Back when I worked insane hours and didn’t always eat (or eat right) and didn’t get as much sleep as I needed I would occasionally do a cleanse weekend with lots of long slow walks and naps whenever I felt like it. I haven’t done a cleanse since I had children (my oldest just turned 17) and am thinking, now that I’m older, it might not be such a bad idea to start maybe semi-annual weekend cleanses again.
Christina S.
Sounds awesome!!! I would love to try this!
Ngoc
It’s been such a busy beginning of the year, that I’ve only managed to go to the gym 3 times. I went this morning, and felt it was a pretty good reset button, but I think a little cleanse is just what I need to really get going.
Amber Hinckley
I loved the part where you talked about how clear your brain felt after your first day of the cleanse; it’s amazing how much our diet can affect things like that! This post definitely motivated me to do a cleanse, and this giveaway would be a great way to start :)
Haley
You make a cleanse sound so lovely! Except for the colonic part of course.
Erin
I am going to check out the website…after I make a batch of your chocolate chocolate banana bread….I need to get my sugar and wine consumption into check!!!
Emi Sorensen
I LOVE juice and I have wanted to try a cleanse. I went on a cruise mid-January and have felt weighed down by sugar ever since. Need to regulate!!
Dena
That is great you should also try http://www.redcarpetcleanses.com that is who Jennifer Anniston cleanses with
in Los Angeles and they taste AMAZING!!! They are featured in gilt.com los angeles right now at a discount…grab one!!
You won’t regret it!
Alicia
Nice giveaway! I would love to try this. heck even if I don’t get picked I may try anyway. I need a kickstart for Spring.
lucy
oh boy do i ever need to tone down my sugar cravings!!!
Kelli
Hmmmm…this sounds like something that I would like to give a whirl. I need a little clarity!
lordie plaisival
Would love to try this. I’ve been looking for a good cleanse. I have a cruise in April and want to start off on the right foot. Want to get in that bathing suit.
Emily
I think I could go on a cleanse. I love, love drinking juice.
Channing Jones
Would love to try this cleanse! And then maybe enjoy a bowl of your Broccoli Arugula soup :)
Rett M.
So, I have recently made a decision to start eating/living healthier and this seems like it would be a great way to start.
Mila
Hey Joy,
I would soo love to try this cleanse. Not much for cleanses usually, but I can sympathize with the weirdo colonic lady experience: Run. Far and fast. Thanks for keeping a rad blog!
Jess
Sounds like something interesting to try!
Melissa
I would love to try this cleanse!!!! I have heard of it before and sounds amazing =)
Alexandra
Interesting…I would never do that on my own, but if I actually got sent some juices, Id give it a try!
Linda C.
i’d like to tone down my sugar cravings too!
Megan B
The absolute best part of this post is when you mentioned that there is a legit test for high cholesterol. Teeheehee…
claire
Sounds like a wonderful experience…for the most part…and I definitely have wanted to try it for years! I am so happy it is now on the west coast since I moved here!
Allie Ferrari
I would really really pretty please like to win this cleanse! Thanks for doing cool stuff like this! You’re kinda who I want to be when I choose to grow up.
Karen
I hope to win this. I’ve always wanted to do this cleanse but it is pretty pricey! Here’s crossing my fingers.
Mel
I tried the maple syrup, cayenne pepper and sea salt cleanse. I must say that I was craving cheeseburgers 10 minutes into it rather than a day or two :)
Jessica Richards
I’ve been wanting to do a cleanse, this sounds marvelous!
Elise
I would love to try this! Despite my avid dedication to eating healthy in college- well, it’s college. Everything is deep fried or covered in cheese. Cleanse me!
Kelsey
Ooh, thanks for the fabulous retelling of your experience!
jen m.
I cleanse once or twice a year- closer to a juice fast, but am just an amature. and I stay away from the colonics…
Stephanie
my friend just did a cleanse and it’s got me aching to do one and get back on track! would love the opportunity to try it out!!
eko
I’ll bite…I mean drink to cleanse. I don’t want a colonic but would love to try the juice cleanse!
Thanks for the chance to win.
You are just wonderful to read!!!!!
Adi
I’m impressed with your willpower! The fact that someone who loves food as much as I do actually enjoyed a cleanse makes me consider it!
Emily
I’d love to try this cleanse! I’m glad it worked so well for you.
Cyndi
If I win, I’ll do it! Neato!
TeresaM
Pretty pricey, but I’ve heard such good things about cleansing in general that I think it’s time to try it…
Traci
Consider my interest piqued…I would love to give it a shot
Mira C
I have been meaning to do a cleanse since the New Year. At first I planned on the second week of January, then beginning of February, then last week, and well, here I am, still seriously needing a cleanse. You’re so inspiring, Joy!
Kim d.
One day seems totally manageable!
Alanna
Sounds amazing!!!
courtneylaurel
What a positive cleansing experience! I would love to try this.
Erin B.
I’ve been wanting to try the Blueprint Cleanse for the longest time! I’d love to win :)
Ingrid
Would love to win this!
Stacey
Sounds like fun. I think I could definitely handle a one-day cleanse.
sarah k
ohhh i have wanted to try this juice cleanse, but it was a bit too costly for me. would love to win this!! xo
ashley j
i’ve looked at doing these cleanses before. i’d be great to win!
Elizabeth
I was just thinking earlier today how I would like to try a cleanse — this one sounds interesting!
Audrey
Sounds great! I’ve been in college for the past 5 years, and I haven’t cooked a real meal (the closest thing I’ve done to “cooking” is baking a few of the yummies from your recipe index)/been eating junk for so long. I actually feel like my brain has degenerated more from eating junky foods than it has improved from education!
Anna
I need a good cleansing! I think I got some moths or squirrels up in my brain.
Stephanie
This is so inspiring – I want the mental clarity you mentioned! I feel so frazzled and am constantly craving sugar, I feel like this would be perfect for me.
Brynn
This sounds awesome.. I need something like this.
Assya
Sounds like an experience definitely worth trying! Thanks for your lovely blog, Joy, I read it almost everyday!!
Heather G.
This sounds interesting. I have a couple of friends doing a couple different types of cleanses lately and my interest is piqued. (that’s how you spell that, right?) And juice is yummy…
abigail
let me first say, i love this blog. i check it every day. secondly; i’m training for a half marathon, and really into “eating healthy”, ok, trying to be, and i feel like this would help inspire me!
Roxy
I’m going to be honest…this kind of stuff makes me nervous but after reading about your experience I’m sort of excited about trying it.
Thanks!
sharon
i really wish i had skipped the paragraph about the colonic…..
Devon
I’d definitely be interested to see how this works! Sounds like it would be hard…
Tammi
Would love to try this! And I need it after junky food on vacation!
Megan
I think. my mind would welcome a deterent to the sweets my body craves!
Kirren
Love this post! I would definitely try a cleanse like this. Seems much more sane than others I’ve heard about! :)
Misty
I would definitely pass on the colonic, but am interested in the will power aspect of doing a cleanse. I imagine there’s some reasoning behind the juice blends they give you?
Jen O
My sister says that she feels better after she has done a cleanse. I haven’t attempted one yet.
Courtney
Ummm just what the doc ordered….I would love love love it.
Leah
I have all kinds of opinions about juice cleanses (I’m a toxicologist) but I’m glad you had a good experience with it.
Marzipan
Hmmm, I am curious….and I have an insane sugar craving problem….hhhmmmm
jenny
Oh wow…interesting! I was thinking of doing a cleanse this spring mentioned in the book “CLEAN” Ms Paltrow recommends it………but this sounds much easier……hmmm…………..I would be oh so interested! I feel like crap. Literally.
Esther
Oooo, I’ve always wanted to try a juice cleanse! I tried the 10-day master cleanse thing and that was hell. I would definitely skip the colonic though, that sounds traumatising! It would be awesome to try this out for a day–I definitely cannot afford this on my own!
Jessica
Sounds awesome! Would love to try it :)
Caitlin
It goes like this, J the B. I’m an actress in an Oscar Wilde play aka Corset-wearing time. I keep baking for the cast though, which is delightful but not helpful with aforementioned corset wearing. Cheers for the BPC! My rehearsal skirt and I thank you.
Arien
I have to say, I love how reasonable you sound about the whole experience. Cleansing for super weight loss? Sounds kind of extreme! Cleansing to re-set your cravings? Totally cool. I would try it out.
Nicole
I’ve been wanting to di this forvere! Glad to hear that it worked for you- and I hope I’m the lucky winner :)
Maddie
I am always so scared to do a detox because I hate being hungry but this one didnt sound so bad. I might consider doing it. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
Carol
I’ve always been against cleanses, but this one seems good, and I’m interested to try!
danielle
have always wanted to do a cleanse, but have never had the courage to try it out.
Deanna
Help! I can’t stop eating junk! I could use a cleanse…
Jenny
I like food, but I’m down for a cleasne. Thank ya thank ya!
Seren
after baking up most of the recipes you post, i could really use a cleanse! this could really do some wonders :)
Rebecca Lucas
This sounds amazing! I would really love to try that!
JVDingleton
Never done a cleanse, always wanted to. Thank you for the colonic description–I think I’ll stick with eating greens and drinking fiber. It sounds quite horrific. Love your blog :-)
Vive
I haven’t cleansed in years and would love to. You’ve inspired me.
Melissa Vest
Woo hoo!!! How cool of you to try a cleanse…I’m impressed! I’ve never done one myself but would live to try! Sounds hard but I love what a boost it was for you! Sounds cool…
Katherine
I would do it!
Allison
Hi Joy! I would be SO grateful for the opportunity to try this out. Thanks!! :)
Anna
i unfortunately understand your desire to run away from colonics and anything related to the topic. it just ain’t pretty and it definitely doesn’t feel fine or normal or even remotely good! i’m sorry that happened to you! hopefully you’ll never have to do it again??
Gwen
I have never done a cleanse, but am interested in the idea.
Stephanie
I would love to try this. Way to go Joy!
Maxine
Hmmm. This might be enough to sway me from the Sourpatch Kids and bacon cleanse I’m currently dedicated to.
Christina Boucher
I would love to try!
Nicole
This is something I need to try–my sugar cravings are out of control! I feel like a meal isn’t complete unless I have something sweet afterwards.
Laura
You and I are kindred spirits – love to bake and love to eat what I bake. I’d love to try this juice cleanse as I head into spring and out of huge, down coats :) Thanks for your great blog!
Natanya
I’ve been looking for a cleanse :)
Andrea Welch
Crazy that you just posted about this! I’ve been looking to do a cleanse for a while now. This would be a great starting point :-)
Des
This sounds wonderful. I would love to try it out (minus the colonic)…
jeddie
great job with the cleanse!!! I’ve tried once or twice, but its hard when the juices aren’t premade. I’d love to win the contest! =D
Debbie
I have read about this cleanse and totally want to try it now after your experience was so great.
Cait
I need a cleanse…too much candy as of late for me.
Natalie
i’d love to try the blueprint cleanse!
Tara
PLEASE, please pick me!! :)
Elizabeth P.
Glad to hear you had such great results! I am trying to make healthier choices and I’ve contemplated doing a cleanse.
Roxy
I have always wanted to try a juice cleanse but have been kinda scared… you make it sounds so lovely and simple! (minus the colonic, of course)
Amy
I’ve been really curious about cleanses lately but there seem to be so many options out there. Thanks for the helpful info on Blue Print…I look forward to investigating further.
Anneke
Yes, please!
(I honestly slightly gasped looking at the price for a 3-day package…not exactly in a student’s budget… ;-))
Jen @ BeantownBaker.com
I would like to try the 3-day cleanse for the same reasons you listed. Well I didn’t write a cookbook, but my body definitely craves sugar and I need to kick that habit…
Jen Huntington
I’ve never done a cleanse, but I’m very intrigued. I too have a bit of a sweet tooth and would love to kick those cravings in the bottom! Glad you feel refreshed!
Stiffler
i could go for a one day cleanse
Randi Lynne
Would totally be up for this!
Alison
I’ve often wondered if a short-term cleanse / juice fast would help with my sugar cravings which seem to get the better of me more and more often. Thanks for sharing your experience – I may need to follow your example (without the colonic, that is!).
rose
hi. i really want this, thanks. :)
Ashley
Wow…this would be incredible! As a college student living off of dorm cafeteria food, my body could definitely use some cleansing!
zoe
I’d love to make my sweet tooth settle down a bit… Maybe this would be the nudge. Juice, please!
oldefashionedgirl
Reminds me of the Thirty Hour Famine (fast for thirty hours and collect money for hunger-related charitable organizations) we do at my church. I’d love to have this for Thirty Hour Famine. I very much enjoy food :)
cait
thanks for sharing your cleanse experience! i’ve been wondering and thinking about trying it out :)
Somerset
A few pol at work are into cleanses, but seeing a fellow “real” person who loves basking can handle and benefit from one, I think I’m ready to give it a try too!
SarahJ
Yes, please! Thanks so much!
Luna
Colonics are scary :[
I understand the too-much-butter scenario though. I’ve been super stressed (moving states, marriage, etc) and so I’ve been eating very badly lately and I must say, without someone there believing in you it’s hard to make it on your own!
Scissors
I love me some juice cleansing!
Ashley
Its funny that you tried this since I actually just saw this exact cleanse on tv just a few weeks ago. I thought it seemed interesting and thought it would be cool to try but it was just out of my budget so if I won then WOOHOO I would get to try it, even if only for a day :)
meagan columbia
I would love to try it!
Renee
I’m super interested in trying this – thanks for the honest post!
Eliz
I’ve always wanted to try a cleanse, this sounds like the perfect opportunity…
Amy
I’ve never tried a juice cleanse before!
Danielle
This sounds pretty awesome! I’ve actually just started my own detox this week…no sugars, dairy, gluten, or high-fat foods. I just wanted to prove to myself that I didn’t need to eat something sweet every day! Very similar to your motives. I would love to try this cleanse though!
Ayla
You made it through! Awesome! I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this cleanse and your journey proves that its really worth it. It’s a luxury I have to save up for, but I’m ready and willing!
Cooke
I am up for the challenge!
Rani May
What an AWESOME post! I seriously just finished researching this cleanse option and I have their cleanse book on my to-buy list! I am thrilled at the chance to enter into your giveaway as this really is something I would love to try, but the cost does inhibit me at this time…pick me, pick me! ;)
I just recently was introduced to your blog by another blogger friend and have since been reading regularly. Just found you on twitter as well (I’m @RaniJoy) and look forward to your updates! I feel very similar to you in the sense that I love, LOVE to bake, but I do limit what I do in order to stay healthy. I totally would eat an ENTIRE batch of cookies. By myself. I love baking so much. SO truly love your blog and will continue to bookmark the many recipes I plan to try!! First on my list is your apple pie. Oh my goodness, I get so excited just thinking about it!
So thank you for the giveaway and thank you for your awesome blog! I don’t comment much, but I do definitely share your recipes and promote you on my blog…I am excited for your book! Such a cool thing you have in all this – I wish all the best!
(pick me, pick me :) this cleanse is so what I need and I would so appreciate it, blog about it, and share the experience!) take care!
Amanda L.
I have been wanting to try this for a while. I was just a little skeptical because I’ve never tried it before. It’s definitely good to hear about it from someone who has actually done it! I would love to try it!
karen
SO brave! good for you Joy, I’m sure I would have caved. You have given me confidence…
alyson
Go Joy! Sounds cool.
Lexi
This is very cool, I myself don’t need a cleanse at the moment but my friend is looking for something. I’ll have to point her your way!
Keri
This sounds right up my alley…..
Kasia
I’d love to try! :)
Skylar
You ARE a total badass! I’ve been studying BPC for a couple weeks now – looks awesome! But if I gave colonics for a living, I’d be all up in Mine-field instead. “Mines ho!”
Ashley
I bought 4 large bags of M&Ms the day after Valentine’s day because they were 50% off. I think this is exactly what I need, Joy.
laura
i’ve always wanted to try a cleanse!
Carrie
This sounds like just the kind of challenge I would love to try.
chelsy e.
One word: DETOX!
Leigh Anne
so very many things wrong with any cleanse or diet that requires you to severely limit caloric intake or cut out entire food groups. the colonic sounded awful! and your body – which you said yourself is being taken care of pretty well – is made to rid itself of toxins (barring kidney/liver disease/failure). please seek the guidance of only a Registered Dietitian for any and all dietary advice.
*jumps off soapbox*
looking forward to more delicious recipes and less of this nonsense post-haste :)
Kathy
Glad you stuck it out. I know it makes you feel better and that’s what I would like to do. Especially as the weather turns warmer and so much to do outside. I need that energized fresher feeling for body and soul.
Grace
The cleanse sounds great! (Except for the colonics part…)
Gretch
I’ve been wanting to try a cleanse for the longest time…I need to get rid of my bloat!
katie
HELP ME CONTROL MY SWEET TOOTH- Bring on the juice!
Hannah L. (Hannah LIves)
I mean, a 3-day juice cleanse? Why not?! I’ll try anything once… as long as it doesn’t involve shoving anything up where the sun don’t shine. ;-)
Lili
I have never tried 3 days on a cleanse…that would be hard, and cool!
Emilie
Would love to try Blue Print Cleanse.
Lani
Thanks for sharing.
Cyndi
Wow! I am feeling inspired to give it a go!!
Amy
I would skip the cleanse for sure, but the idea of mental clarity sounds lovely.
Amy
regan
I honestly don’t want to win since I’m not sure a juice cleanse and pregnancy go hand in hand, but I did want to tell you that you’re pretty bad ass for getting a colonic. That’s something I don’t think I could ever do, even if Usher swears by them.
penny stanley
Just found you and perhaps the fountain of youth with the juice cleanse!
Kayla
I feel like this is a doable, healthy cleanse. So often I hear of people doing cleanses for long periods of time, or that have them drinking funky, unhealthy things.
Heather Simons
I like juice!
Lauren
Wow, this could not have come at a more perfect time. 1. I’ve been toying with the idea of a cleanse of sorts. Just this week actually, I am trying to eat raw. Let me tell you a little something about myself; I am a glutton for punishment, soooo anytime I set out of any mission such as this, I read your blog and I read your recipes and my mouth waters and I don’t know why I do it, so this week I told myself I was going to do it differently. I was going to ban myself from your blog until I was ready to incorporate real food back into my life, but I caved (and I’m not talking about the cheeseburger and frozen custard I devoured last night either!)! I visited your blog and to my lovely surprise this is what I found. You are such an inspiration to me, Joy… Oh and that name suits you, you should know…
Trish
Thanks for the great insight into what it is like ! I’m doing my first cleanse next week!
Jess
this sounds incredible!
trang
my body needs this
Melissa
I would like to give this a try, not the colonic though! You are hella braver than I on that front Joy!
Hannah
I’ve been looking into doing this for so long but I’m on such a tight college budget I can’t afford to do it!
Cal
I might be a skeptic, but it would be interesting to give it a try. Just for a day…
dancing kitchen
I’m in…pick me.
Mary
Sounds fun :)
Sarah D
I would like to feel healthy on the inside and out.
jomamma
I’m thinking of doing a cleanse while I’m off work during spring break… maybe not. The thought of margaritas and the smell of my son’s chili cooking right now just totally changed my mind.
Katie
Count me in–sounds fab!
Angela
This sounds like something I could use, especially after hearing about your positive experience. Sooo…*fingers crossed*
Jessica
I would be really curious to give this a try and could use the dietary reboot after a winter of eating lots of junk and not nearly enough veggies or fruits.
Lisa in NY
I ave always been inerested in trying a cleanse but not to the pint that I have actually done it. As for the high colonic, thanks but NO thanks!!
Taylor Parker
Your “last meal” looks pretty healthy. Good for you!
My “last meal” before I start a cleanse usually involves something fried and something ice cream.
Emily B.
I live in “The Cookie House” at my college and it is my JOB to keep the house stocked with delicious treats…needless to say I am probably in dire need of a cleanse right about now. They’ve always freaked me out but I’m so there. So. There.
Terri Golden
Cleanse..schmeenze..I adore your blog and your witty writing. I have been reading your blog for months and highly recommend you to everybody that doesn’t think of food -prep as something you do in the drive through. Congrats on your cleanse. I agree that colonics is an absolute hot mess and are open to trying a cleanse someday….Keep up your fabulous blog and your wonderful self. You are terrific. A fellow blogger and total fan of Joy the baker.
Vera
Juice it!
Cate
Joy, I’m in the middle of my senior year of college- a juice cleanse sounds like exactly what I need to reset my brain. Pick me!
Diane
WOW!!! Very scared..confused…intrigued….though maybe my body might be screaming for one!!! hahaha!!
Chris
I’m not sure if it’s possible to let go of my chocolate cravings, but I’d sure like to give it a try.
Tamara
I have been curious about doing a cleanse. I would love to rid myself of the desire for sugar throughout the day.
AimeeP
Wow! I would be all about this to break my sugar habit, or at least get it in check:)
Lisa
I actually saw the same cleanse after the holidays and thought about it. I’d like to do a cleanse to revitalize my body. Kudos to you for sticking to it! I have 3 young boys, and I’m not sure I’d be able to cook and not taste! That said, I look forward to more delicious baking recipes from you soon! :)
sarah
Oh Joy you are an inspiration to us all. You really don’t get hungry?? Reallllly?? Member that lemon/syrup/paprika shizz Beyonce was drinking, sounds like that. I’m tryna feel fantastic
Krystie
Totally interested.
Catherine
Nice! Great job Joy! And congratulations on wrapping up your cookbook!! Seriously this sounds pretty awesome. One question for you, would you ever consider becoming a vegetarian?
Stephanie
OMG – pick me, pick me! I totally need this in my life right now. Wine consumption and sugar cravings in check, yes please!
Grace
i would love a chance to re-boot, after a few days (weeks? months??) of too many treats. and maybe it would help calm my raging sugar addiction!
Amy R.
I would love to try this!
Diana
I was actually just talking about doing a cleanse with some of my friends. My time in crazy-ridiculous-accelerated nursing school is coming to a close, and I think it’s time to refresh and start anew. Cut down on my butter/sugar addiction. Get my electrolytes in balance. Make it easier to button my jeans. I would definitely love to try this!!
Amy @ amyBITES
I’d be really interested in trying this…it would probably only reinforce how much I love food, but it can’t hurt!
Christina haigh
Great job! Day three is the hardest…..
Irene
Ooh, I’d be nervous to do a cleanse, but I’m willing to try!
Megan
I have some bad sugar cravings and would love to try this!
Elizabeth J.
I’ve managed over the last little while to develop a major sugar craving at night. I blame Trader Joe’s chocolate covered pretzels…and also their peanut butter filled chocolate covered pretzels. I think I’d really like a one day cleanse.
Shannon
This looks reasonable, I’d give it a go.
Ashley Manil
Hey Joy! Bring the cleanse on, I have been meaning to try one of those.
Latika
I don’t qualify for this competition but I just wanted to say I loved reading this post – YAY to more words. It was very entertaining. Good on you for doing the cleanse. And YAY to good health!
Jane
I find this very intesting.
Karine DG
Keeping my sugar craving at bay, sound like a dream ^ – ^
Christine
Ooh, pick me! I have done a cleanse every year for the past 4 or 5 years and I’m a total believer. The one I do you can eat as much food as you want, but there are serious limitations on what you can eat—no flour, no dairy, no fermented anything, NO SUGAR! And this is for 12 days, so it’s seriously hard for me, but I’ve always felt so good after and it has helped me out with some chronic issues I used to have. I would love to try a new type of cleanse!
Caitlin Foster
This may save my jeans! As a teacher, wine and chocolate have become my best friend. I could REALLY use a break!
Shalyn
I have been feeling the need to go on a cleanse since Christmas. I really want to do it, but oh how hard that first step of taking initiative can be. This could be my that step for me…?
LindsayLB
I’ve been wanting to try the BPC.
Sarah
very interesting…i think this could be a good thing in my life!
Bessa McG
I’d be curious to see how this goes!
Michelle
This post was hilarious and you made me want to try it too! Normally I wouldn’t read such a long one but I came on hear to get the recipe for the cashew mushroom soup. Now I just chowed down on raw cashews.
Octavia
I’m interested! I definitely NEED this in my life. It would serve as my motivation to get in shape!
Kenna
That clense sounds intense! While I’m not sure if I could make it all te way through, I’m sure doing some if it for free would help!
Kalmia
Yes, PLEASE.
A reset in my wine/sugar/french fry diet would be swell.
also, delicious juices? yep. I’m down.
alice
this sounds amazing! i want in :)
Betsy
sign me up! i have been wanting to do one of these for a long time, but didn’t know where to start. this sounds perfect!!
Katie Glover
This sounds interesting. I’ve never done a cleanse before and I think I might be scared that I wouldn’t stick to it and give in to food. However I would like to curb my sweet tooth that rules my life and to be completely honest i’m not sure I would like to live in that world but a little less sugar is definitely something I’m looking for.
Kristin
As long as I don’t have to do the colonic. Noooo thank you.
Sam
hmm. I can’t say that I’ve ever done anything like it before. It sounds great though.
Cassie Jebber
My husband does a 7 day cleanse once a year. I would love to try this!!!
Deann
I will gladly give this a go – as long as I just get to drink the stuff and no garden hose comes near me….
Christina
I have always wanted to try a cleanse!
Kathleen
Always wanted to try BPC!
Julie
I need balace back….
Allison
Yes, please.
Ann
Hilarious! Good for you for sticking with it!
Mars
Cleanse me!!! I enjoyed your post and candor immensely (as always)
tara
Your blog posts are my absolute fave–no lie! I really want the books, but I swear I’m not sucking up just to win!! :)
ashley
I totally need this!!! My pants are way too tight, and only 1 in five dresses fits!
esther
Was looking into this before I saw your blog post!!
Sarah
The Blueprint cleanse looks so awesome, but I’m very intimidated by the price. I looked for some recipes online but couldn’t find anything I really liked, so a blueprint book would be really useful!
Morgan
I need to wash the sin away.
Sarah Hdz
My mom just found out that she has a problem with her thyroid. If I won, I’d give this to her. Moms are great…
Juli C.
So…being a food lover I was skeptical, but I would like to feel better. (I say this as I put another dark chocolate cherry in my mouth and I am not even hungry.) Thanks for telling us about it and especially your experience with it.
Julia HL
Love. Please :)
Erin
I have been wanting to try this . . . too cool!
Jenn
I have been a skeptic of cleanses but it really doesn’t sound that bad!
Rachel
Great job sticking with it!
Erin Higg
Yay for juice!
jordan
i’ve wanted to try a cleanse for a while just to clean out the system. yay! brava, you.
Katie
Awesome job! My best lady just did a cleanse and I’ve been curious about trying one myself! Sign me up, please.
emma
Sounds like a really interesting experience… thanks for sharing! I have always been kind of scared to mess with colons…
Tyler Rogero
Sounds fantastic!
Jess Czarniak
wow good for you for trying this! what will power :)
Beth
Hot diggity! Sounds like an overall beneficial experience… sans colonic of course. You’re an inspiration to us all, joylabaker. Sign me up!
James
Oh, cleanses! How we love/loathe thee!
Marinda S
Count me in on the one day cleanse and thanks for all the information. Really, thanks, yeh, like I needed all that information about fetal positions and things where they shouldn’t be. thanks again.
Laura
This sounds incredible! I would love to try. Sugar has an incredible grip on my life, and now that cross country’s over, I’m looking for ways to decrease my appetite back down to size. I also cannot wait for your book to come out!!!!
Meg
I NEED this.
Allie
I’m very curious…
Clare
sounds way better than the master cleasnse!
abigail
I’ve never done a cleanse before, but this sounds totally doable!
Kate
Sounds great and healthy and delicious!
Christina
I’m trying to diet for my upcoming wedding, but I am such a food junkie. This would be so helpful! I’d love to give it a shot.
Yumiko
Reading your amazing blog got me to start baking again (hello, lemon whoopie pies, chocolate orange scones, chocolate birthday bunt cake and chocolate mint cookies) – maybe I can start a move towards lighter, clearer cleansing!
Victoria Lane
I tried that colonic thing once and am in total sympathy!
Theadora
As a derby girl in mid-season this kinda freaks me out but at the same time I’m having difficulty getting out of bed and eating waaaay too many sweets lately! It’s time for a change!
Diane
What fun!
bella
happy to read about your cleanse results…sounds awesome!
cathy
Cool, always wanted to try this! Thanks!
Jan
I’m too stuck right now on anything sweet and filled with carbs – HELP! I need a juice cleanse!
Jenn
Ooh good idea. I totally feel like I need a cleanse.
Kat
It’s nice to see such a refreshingly healthy take on something like a juice cleanse–makes me want to do it, although I’m also not that kind of girl!
When I found myself in my kitchen at midnight last night pawing through the cabinets looking for chocolate, I thought, “Maybe this isn’t ideal.” So… juice?
Stephanie
Ooooooh… Juice. And mental clarity. I am SO down!
Dagmarette @ The Finishing School
If only I can have the sense of humor as you did when on a diet!
Kristan
I’ve been thinking about a juice cleanse in preparation for a health screening I have coming up. This would be fantastic.
Becs
Sounds wonderful. I have serious sugar issues.
Encornet
Ooh, this sounds like just what I need to get off my current sugar-consuming diet. Awesome.
Cait
I’ve wanted to try BPC!
liz
always been curious….
and it is that post-winter, blubbery time of year
Jessica
I am pregnant and have been eating whatever I crave, which ends up being basically dairy and sugar. I’ve been wanting to do a cleanse because it’s made me feel cra-ppy. I could definitely handle a juice cleanse and if it’s only 3 days, even better. Bonus points: juice doesn’t have to be cooked, and the smell of anything cooking is pretty much the worst.
Jennifer
Totally took me by surprise with this! I applaud you for being brave enough to post something like this that might make people roll their eyes. I think it sounds great!
Anna
This sounds awesome: easier and far less insane than most cleanses I’ve seen. Sounds like something I want to try– contacting a professional on this one.
Mariee
Count me in!
Joy
Thanks, Joy, for demystifying cleanses! Not so scary now! (Well, I will skip the colonic though…)
Cecilia
Let do this…
Lori
I love to cook healthy low fat meals for my family! My thyroid is all out of whack so losing weight is difficult. I Think a cleanse might be just what I need right now
Lucie
I’m totally in need of a body cleanser…
Courtney P
considering i’m still eating like it’s the holidays… might not be a bad idea :)
Crystal
I am in need of a serious sugar detox! Loved your review!
Nadeanne
I’ve been drinking too much wine and eating too much cake lately…i think a cleanse is what i need!
Natalie
Just finished a midterm and feel cleansed to have it behind me. The first thing I decided to do afterwards was visit your blog as a reward for my hard work. Thank you for your work. It’s a vitamin to the spirit to visit you here.
Halle
ooh, my mom would LOVE this. she just went gluten-free and has been wanting to try a “cleanse”. im glad it helped you out!
caity Engler
Cleanse! I bake waaaaay to often and eat waaaay too much of what I bake. My body needs a day off!
Ps joy my police officer boyfriend loved your donuts. Surprised him with a batch at his station. Big hit
HeatherS
I am almost done nursing my daughter, and I’ve been thinking about doing a cleanse when she’s done… Therefore, this would be perfect timing.
And FYI I make your peanutbutter blondies with milk chocolate frosting on a weekly basis and have passed the recipe on to many friends. Thanks for that, it’s a family favorite :)
charissa
i have the WORST sugar cravings. i never thought of a cleanse to reset! great idea!
Whitney Anne
I admire your will-power! And I’d love to try it! Thank you for offering the giveaway to us frugal foodies.
Kate
What a fabulous giveaway. Hope I can get the glow back with a little juicy-juice!
Brooke
You are awesome! Way to go! I love cleanses and I would love to try this one!
Imani

Me

anita

Johanna
I haev tried other cleanses and whould really love to try this one! Can’t wait!
Darcy
Ditto on the need for a cleanse. Count me in!
Daphne Jean
Oh yay! I’d love to try this…minus the colonic.
I’m a long-time lurker, first time commenter. Congrats on completing your manuscript!
Cheers!
Christine
Love the cleanse!! The colonic story killed me.
steph
I did a month-long cleanse with my sister in November.. but only got to 2 weeks! haha! It would be great to try one that was a bit shorter!!!
Teresa
I just tried a cleanse on my own a few weeks ago…I felt like I was going to pass out for the first two days! This version sounds much more pleasant! Living in Wisconsin makes it easy to pack on the winter poundage (essential layers for our negative degree weather hides all the pudge). My body is screaming for these juices!
rocio
woohooo! lets do this :)
Madison
always looking to try something new!! looks right up my alley… just like all your baked goods ;-)
angela
blizzard in mn after a week of 50 degree weather = comfort food binge like pork ragu and homemade pretzels = need for cleanse to make up for comfort food binge
Michelle
As much as I hate to admit it…this sounds like just what I need. Thanks for the giveaway!
Barathi
As a college student eating bad dorm food all the time, this cleanse sounds awesome. I could definitely use some extra energy.
Em
I think this would be a great way to kick off my Renaissance Year! Thanks for the low-down and the opportunity!
Tina
Something I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do…but too afraid to try…after reading your blog, I’m thinking…I need to do this!! Hope I’m the lucky one!!
Chelsea
After all the holiday food and sugar I’ve been shoving in my face this season, I could totally go for this…
Phoebe
It it too late to start acting on New Years resolutions…?
Shannon S
OMG your colonic story was too funny! Especially the part about the old lady on her Ipad…..hahaha! The juices look pretty good, glad your cleanse wasn’t too bad, I’ve heard horrible stories about the Master Cleanse and the like
Teresa
Oooo…. I never tried a cleanse before. Thanks for the chance!
jen campbell
I use to think that cleanses were a crock, but I’m tried a few at home and have been very surprised at the results. I’ve always wanted to try the Blueprint Cleanse.
--Deb
I’m intrigued! I’ve been thinking about doing a cleanse, but am never sure where to start, so–this sounds great!
Chelsea
I work at a bakery… so I’m in dire need of a cleanse!!
Would love to win this!! After hearing about your experience it makes me think that I could possibly do it too!
Shoshana
Since my sugar cravings have been out of control, this would be an awesome way to reset!
kelly
<3 This. Want this. Need this. Crossing my fingers and Toes!
Tiffany
Ugh, I can’t believe that old woman!
I could definitely stand to curb cravings… The other day, I declared to myself, “I shall eat healthfully, and nothing can stop me!” This went well until I ran out of healthy snacks at campus, and devoured a pizza slice, sugary yogurt, and three cookies -.-
Shawn
Oh Joy, your description of the colonic experience had me cracking up (which I muffled because I’m in class). Anyway, the fact that I read blogs while in class probably means I could use some mental clarity. Love your blog – and congrats on the book!
Elle
I love your will power! I’m currently in Italy stuffing my face with gelato, pizza, and pasta. It’s great.
But, I don’t think my waistline agrees… let’s hope I’ll have the same will power when I get back to the States! Wish me luck?
kristi
I have been wanting to do a cleanse for a while! I would absolutely LOVE to do this! Read the book “Clean” and loved it! Highly recommend! Def been on a health kick (drinking almond butter smoothies before my workouts) and this is exactly what I am looking for! Love your site! :)
alilamb
I’ve heard of this and am totally intrigued!
miss stacy
so JOY of you to reco a good clearing out from time to time. I loved reading your daily experience; you’re such a sister to be so candid with us! I’m inspired and going to try try try.
Courage !
Shanti
Such perfect timing! I’ve been feeling ruled by food for so long now, and I would love to be able to start March feeling fresh and rejuvinated, not craving and cranky!
Robin Whiting
I would be interested in trying the cleanse for a day, possibly even the three day cleanse!
loo
ive been breast feeding for almost a year and havent had time to go to the gym in like three years, maybe a cleanse would give me some energy, a source other then the massive amounts of sugar i eat from recipes i find on here. :)
Silly_one
You are a brave, brave woman. Now, can I have the cleanse?? I want mental clarity again…
Chelsea
this cleanse sounds amazing! just what i need to get back into eating a little bit healthier!
Diane K.
Wow! Didn’t know you were soooo big. I mean popular. I knew you were beautiful and nice and a great cook but wow I had no idea. Well I’m gluten free but far from sugar free and the juice cleanse just might help. You sure made it sound good and the energy well that goes without saying. Boy would I like some of that. Please consider me in your give away. Thanks.
allie
I started a new job at an Italian restaurant, so much butter, tiramisu and truffles! (hard life…) My face has been getting angry, maybe cleansing it out will help!
Beth
I’ve done Cooler Cleanse (had a discount code), but would love to try BluePrint to compare the two. They’re too expensive for me without a discount.
christina
this sounds perfect, since i love juice!
Jill
Me and my boyfriend both want to try this, but it’s sooo expensivee!!
I’m gonna buy some fruits and veggies tonight to start juicing on our own.
Amy
I need to bounce back from a bad break and need to control my sugar cravings!!
sarah
This means i would have to cut back on my bacon diet. This would be good (and really, really hard) for me. On another note, i’ve never posted before but I’m positive we’d be friends Joy. Been stalking your site for months now. My boyfriend is fatter for it. Neither one of us is complaining. p.s. you would love Florence + Machine if you haven’t already discovered them.
say hello to kitteh for me. what a cutie patootie!
Amy
I would love to win and try it out.
Hope
I could definitely use this. Trying to get healthier because it takes me a long time to get prego
Leah
I hear ya on those colonics! I used to get them when I was way younger. Never did like them. Would like to give the cleanse a go, though.
Mrs. Meg C
I’ve been rather healthy lately, but I’d love to try out these!
Lauren Godsey
Been considering trying a colonic. Might just start with a cleanse now! Thanks for sharing!!
DeeDee
Just what i need!
spring break is coming up and i need to fit into the teensy bikini my momma sent me for my birthday.
the girls in my floor have been receiving pounds and pounds of candy from rushing and they’ve been putting it all out in our commons area where i like to study. meaning i’ve been consuming their pounds upon pounds of reese’s and snickers lately.
Heather
This sounds right up my ally! Fasting does well, but I’ve never done a cleanse. With IBS, I bet it would help tremendously.
Alyssa
would love to give this a try!
Shannon T.
I love, love, love the idea of doing a good-for-you-in-moderation cleanse!
Molly
I am a baker as well! I spend all day covered in sugar, flour and butter…I understand the feeling of it “seeping into your pores”! I love to bake, but this cleanse seems perfect for someone stuck in a sugar predicament. I hope to try it! ps. Your blog is very entertaining :)
Elle
I’ve always been so curious (and a bit skeptical) about cleanses and reading this post made me jump on board! Can’t wait to try these!
Meredith
Lordy, lordy. Just finished working for a baking mix company creating and testing recipes. Homegirl here can use a BIG sugar cleanse. Send. Juice. Now.
Kate
Hi Joy! I’ve tried 1 cleanse before but I found it to be too long (1 month!) and I ended up cheating. I’d love to try one that is short and to the point… preferably without the anal probe. I eat well and am a marathon runner but LOVE to bake (for the soul and the tastebuds). However, I am totally with you on the ‘need to clean out the insides’ feeling. It’s like ketchup… you can bang on the bottom but you’re still having that thick ketchup all over the insides of that bottle. Gross. I know.
ps-I love your blog!
natalie (the sweets life)
the idea of a cleanse doesn’t really excite me..but i think it’d be good for me and my sugar cravings!!
ms.ricka
Awesome Joy!
Stephanie
Oooh, this sounds interesting! i’ve been trying to eat healthier lately, so hey, i could give this a whirl to jump start my healthy-food intake =)
Kim
Having just returned from my honeymoon…I could definitely use help in resetting my food cravings and eating habits. :)
Lindsay Széchenyi
I think I need this. Thanks for the colonic warning ;)
Caroline
I’ve always been curious about cleanses but always a little skeptical. I would love to moderate my sugar habit.
Laura
I would love to try that!
Carolyn
Ive been Considering doing this for a while. I might have to bite the bullet and try it out
Katie Burke
I want to try this!
britt
This cleanse looks like it’s right up my alley! I just celebrated my birthday last weekend… with a lot of cake & fries. While your delicious lentil soup has definitely put me back on the right track… I can’t help but feel like the 3am onion rings are still sitting in my belly ):
Love your blog! xo
Ellen Kim
Ohhh, this cleanse sounds so interesting!
mitzi
looks interesting…id give it a try!
Kaitlyn B
Checked out their website and the flavors sound pretty good. Good enough to replace food…I don’t know.
Sonia Duenas
awesome possum. sounds like a good idea. :)
The Nerd
Why the hell not.
Brenda Elizabeth
I would love to try this!
Mandy
I’ve been wanting to do a juice cleanse for a while now. This would be a great start!
Jackie
*smiles*
I just got a new job, so a spring reset might be cool!
Wes
Dear Joy,
My co-worker showed me your blog and since then my life at work no longer sucks. I can spend my days blissfully dreaming about food and trying not to burst into snorting fits of laughter as my boss walks by. While I am currently a culinary novice…and by that I mean I can make 3 whole things…all of your beautiful recipes make me want to try to be a master cheffy like you. Basically I want to be you. And because the 3 things that I can make are in no way, shape, or form considered healthy, I should probably get on this cleanse. It sounds delightful…or at least tasty.
Thanks for being the best thing since brown sugar bacon waffles.
Cheers!
Janine
I’ve done cleanses before, but they made my tummy hurt. :(
Heebie Jeebie Jaya
Would most definitely like to try this! Especially when all I want is See’s Candy and Cheetos.
CarrieLovesKeith
I never, ever, ever thought I would do a cleanse, but you’ve totally convinced me!
Vicki
I’m scared, but I’d totally love to try this and see if I could do it. Thanks for the honest post.
Heidi
I’ve never tried anything like this, but it would be awesome! Thanks for the chance :)
Erin O.
I think it’s so cool that you blogged about this! I’m glad you had such a great experience with it.
Love your blog!
Hannah K.
i’m a month out since my wedding and i’m still convinced i can “eat whatever i want” because i’m a newlywed. i need a reality slap in the face. blue print cleanse me please!!
Jen
I am in the midst of Day 1 – love it so far! Ask me again tomorrow. Colonic scheduled for Saturday! EEk!
Mellybrown
Since I just plowed through a pan of Scotcheroos and can’t stop thinking about Blonde Rocky Road bars, I think a juice cleanse is very appropriate at this time….
Wendy
Joy, I’ve been reading your blog for a while now(love it!) and glad to hear that you pulled through and did the cleanse. I really feel I’m in the need of getting back on track with the food choices I make and this cleanse sounds super intriguing!
Ad
I’ve been wanting to try this for a while but have been weary of the hefty price tag..
Jessica Bates
I would love to try this, it’s just what I need. You’re such an inspiration.
Anne
I would love to try this cleanse!
Sara
Ooh – a juicy cleanse. I recently did a 10 day master cleanse. The one where you drink nothing but a concoction made of water, maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and lemon juice. There’s also a torturous salt water flush every morning. It was a beast but I finished it feeling pretty great and it totally put my eating and drinking habits back on track. But…now they’re slowly falling right back off track! This juice cleanse sounds lovely compared to that!
jean
loved your description of the experience. definitely makes me want to try it!
ButterscotchBB
I would LOVE to try the Blue Print Cleanse; especially since I have had weird digestive issues as of late.
Bonnie
I would LOVE this. I had a baby 8 weeks ago. I still need to loose the weight, and clear my head, oh and a bit of energy from sleepless nights would be outstanding! :)
J
So you almost have 1000 comments, but I figured I’d try because I’ve really been wanting to do a cleanse, but I’m totally afraid of that freaky, horrible sounding cayenne pepper and syrup cleanse. That cleanse sounds like hell. This one sounds sweet.
I’ll go with sweet.
Katie Greenlaw
I am so excited for you. I’ve always wanted to do a juice cleanse. Sounds great.
Monica
Oh, man, I was just telling someone yesterday that I’ve been eating waayyy too much junk food…more than I normally would. I would love to try this out!
ellie
oh-my- gosh! that sounds amazing and thank u for the giveaway!
and good luck on your cookbook! <3 :D
Kat @ Cupcake Kat
Good for you! Its great that the cleanse worked for you and that you followed through on it
It might be a good idea for me to go on a cleanse because I eat and crave sugar too often
carie
it is such a relief to hear it’s possible to survive a juice cleanse and actually feel better afterward, instead of insatiable. i did a cleanse once and really struggled to stay alert, let alone think about attending a spinning class. well done!
Theresa B.
I would love to try this cleanse!
Anne
i have to say, as someone who is extremely skeptical of cleanses and fasts and all that jazz, i love your attitude! rock on! you even make me want to try this shiz– i could use all the energy boosts life wants to throw at me (except colonics, bc EW).
Pattypro
I’ve thought about embarking on a juice cleanse/fast many times myself. Will have to look into BPC. Thanks, Joy.
Karen
Since I had my baby I have been totally addicted to sugar. I need something to give me a fresh start!
Mary
been thinking about trying it for a while now. haven’t taken the plunge yet but this has got me re-thinking…thanks for the recap, would love to try it!
Juliet
I read about BP cleanse when you tweeted about it last week! Definitely intrigued.
Nicole K
Cooooooooool! I have always wanted to try something like that!
keri
i came here looking for a good cookie recipe and now you’ve got me thinking about a good cleanse… well done. thanks for the chance to try out the blue print cleanse.
Hannah
This sounds fantastic after what I can only imagine enters my body in the form of college dining hall food…
barbara marques
Ohh it would be good to try it out!!! And btw I loved all the details on this post!
Britt
Have been wanting to try this one for awhile!
Libby
i’m totally motivated to do a cleanse now! And the vegan mushroom soup is screaming my name!
Stephanie
I love this post. I bake a few times a week and have never had one bite of my creations, so I hear you! That is why I love your blog…I can follow it precisely and know I handing out good stuff! :) And screw scales!!! hahaha
Sally
This sounds awful and totally awesome at the same time!
Jessica
I’m usually anti everything and anything cleanse, but seeing Joy embark upon one, I don’t feel like hitting Gwenyth Paltrow as much as usual :)
SJ
Sounds awesome!
Amanda
I have always wanted to try an actual system of cleansing juices, I usually will just stock up on 100% juices and psychologically convince myself “this is juicing”. <3
YarnBabe
Sounds interesting and I’m glad you had a good experience with it! I’m totally curious now >meow<
Laura K.
Ooo, I want to try it! I can’t get chocolate out of my dreams and I need some help!
Lisa
I desperately need a reset button. I’m a whore for sugar.
keri
man, this sounds so fascinating! i’d love to try it!
Bridgitte Maxwell
I have always wanted to do a cleanse, but it scared me! but this sounds totally doable!!
patricia
I have been eyeing the blue print cleanse forever! Unfortunately, it’s not in the budget right now but, much as was your experience, I have heard it is amazing at restoring your body! Although I’m not sure what could be better – the chance at the cleanse or your upcoming cook book!!
hannah kendall
I wanna tryyyy blue print cleanse!!
Ari
I’ve been waiting for an excuse to try this cleanse! Glad to hear you liked it
Erica
I would love to try this!
Megan
Pick me! I need some re-starting of my own- Blue Print Cleanse is the best!
Maria
Hmmm. Interesting!
Gabby
Mmmm, I love juice but I’m sure after the first day I’d be craving some serious carbs – bread, nice warm fresh bread or muffins or scones. Haha. Be fun to try though and test my willpower [or lack of].
Ryan @ Ryan's Baking Blog
congrats on getting your cookbook baking all done & good luck with the edits!
also congrats on the cleanse, I feel like I need to resets my diet too…having tons of sugar cravings lately.
Stephanie
I have heard about this and wanted to try it!
Natalie
Would def like to reset my craving clock!
Francesca
Sounds great! I love the recap! I actually started a new healthy eating “lifestyle” on Monday! So far so good. I’m off all sugar and unhealthy fats (unfortunately that means butter). I feel really good, am eating lots of fruits and vegetables and nuts. I’m doing it for health reasons so I have a totally different perspective than just “lose 5 pounds”. The thought of a juice cleanse sounds more appealing than I thought! :)
Jenn
Sounds great! Would love to try it.
Emily Cutsinger
Sounds perfect for my right now!
Julie J
I’ve read so much about eliminating sugar from your diet and the fabulous results (check out The Truth About Beauty by Kat James) but I can’t seem to do it for more than a couple of days. Perhaps a cleanse such as this would help. I’d love to give it a try.
carolyn milani
I NEED this badly please!!!! Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kayla (Little Miss Healthify)
Wow, that’s great! Sounds like your cleanse went very well. I kinda have been going mega overboard on the sweets department as of late, so I think a juice cleanse would be great!
Grace
I’m all for rejuvenation and mental clarity!
Michele Nguyen
I’ve been wanting to try this since I’ve been feeling a bit “slow” after the holidays. So glad to hear about your experience!
Autumn
I would love to try it! I’ve been wanting to try this for a while, but its a bit pricey for me at the moment.
Kara
Ooo this sounds great!
MJ
I’m jealous that the cleanse gave you so much energy. Other friends have said the same. I’d love to try it!
Ally
Wow! Very impressed
Sarah
Sounds great. I’m sold!
Sarah
Thanks for your honesty about the process – I’ve thought about doing this before and now feel like I could take the plunge (plunge is perhaps a bad choice of words given your description of the colonic).
ivonne
I liked the colonic, yes it’s awkward and uncomfortable and you feel like you’re gonna fart water after the fact but the feeling of the cleanse itself? I will deal with the uncomfortable factor for that feeling. But then again, I am pretty comfortable with my poop chute.
I want ins on the giveaway, yes?
Anna
Wow, that’s pricey…but i’m intrigued. I don’t know if I can afford to buy it, but I’d love to give it a try if I won. Thanks for the chance!
Rebecca
This whole concept fascinates me, and I totally trust you if you say the juices are yummy :-)
Qubrey
Thank you for the chance!
Stephanie
This sounds so interesting – I want to try!
sam
I did a five day cleanse and it was a nightmare. Three days might be a better option though. Thanks Joy!
Sarah
Hi Joy! I’ve been following your blog for a while and this is my first time commenting. I think you are hysterical and I want to squeeze your kitten (please don’t be weirded out, he’s just so freaking cute). I’ve thought about trying a cleanse for a while now but haven’t bc GOOP told me to. You, however, have made it seem much less pretentious…
Chelsea
I’ve been trying really hard to reset my eating habits because I’m getting married (eep!) in April. This could be the kick start that I need!
M-A
I never believed in cleansers just because the majority of ppl do it to lose weight but this sounds like a pretty cool idea. I don’t know about the colonic…. But the juice parts sounds delicious
Laura
I seriously need to get my chocolate cravings in check…thanks Joy, for taking on this challenge that I have always been someone dubious about….
lexie
i’ve been feeling particularly slave to take-out and particularly bloated and gassy. i want to try a juice cleanse!
Carol W.
This is the second time in two days someone has mentioned Blue Print Cleanse. Your experience may convince me to try it!
angelene fortunate
I would LOVE to try this :)
Carlen
Wow it’s like you read my mind! After a week in New Orleans, a weekend in Chico, and a weekend in Sacramento coming up, I feel like my body needs a detox from all the food and drinks I’ve been ingesting. PLUS, I’m a college student so I eat a lot of crappy food.
skeetiebug
Hi!! I LOVE your blog and try most of your recipes, haven’t been disappointed yet! The juice cleanse looks like something I need, would love to try, count me in!
(ps– the Peanut Butter Pecan Biscotti is out of this world!!! Thanks!)
Nicolette
I would love to try that!
K Stanley
I too just finished a 3 day cleanse and colonic and boy was my experience similar to yours. It felt great to read a review of the cleanse that was SO similar to my own experience. The cleanse is great, don’t miss food as much as chewing and the social part of eating – going out to dinner, making plans to go out to dinner, drinking wine, etc. By day 3 I thought I could easily have gone on 2 more days. We have now added in pressed juices into our daily lives since we enjoyed the benefits of them so much!
Lizz CC
I’m def scared of cleanses but I want to try – I think it’ll be empowering to know I can do it!
Tali
Sign this girl up!
Kim M
So when will the book be about/available?!?!?!? When it does I’m getting a copy for me and copies for all my friends! I swear, I talk about you and your recipes ALL the time!
laurie
Totally intrigued. Really. Which surprises even me. ;)
amanda @ fake ginger
I totally want to try this! :)
kristen D
WHOWEE….I need this! I have had three children (I had 3 within 20 months) and now my diet is pb&js, goldfish, and fruit snack gummies. I need this!
Help me!
Lisa
I have been thinking about trying a cleanse for a while now. This may be the sign I needed!
Jacqui
I so need a good juice cleanse! Thanks for the day by day break down, I’m glad you pulled through in the end!
Anna
Yes, please!
ih
It’s an interesting idea. I have a friend who did some sort of lemon-juice cleanse. I’m not sure I could give up food for three days. So.Much.Willpower. Congrats on completing it!
danielle
just the other day i was trying to remember if you were writing a cookbook or not, mostly because my luck of not ruining my laptop whilst using in the kitchen to make your recipes will probably run out eventually.
any word on when it will be out?
jill
i tried that master cleanse once and wheeeeeew, buddy. no. just no. this one seems doable, though!
Michelle
Hmm… a little skeptical, but it would be nice to get control of my sugar cravings…
Hetal
I have been reading your blog for more than a year now and I was so excited to see a post like this ! I have done raw diets sporadically. I love the part about mental clarity ! Would love to give Juice Cleanse a go…
Latondra S
I’d love to try this! As a Dessert caterer I feel like my cravings are totally out of control…somedays all I eat is buttercream :-(
Haley
Hey Joy, I just started following your blog and have added it to my favorites. Love the great and creative recipes. I’ve always been curious about doing a cleanse. Maybe this will be my chance!
Heather Marie
This sounds right up my alley. I normally eat pretty good but life has just got the best of me and sugar is taking over my life. I would like to get my eating back in check and this sounds like a perfect way to get started!
Britiney @ Consider the Lilies
What a great post! Thanks for the info from someone who said, “Cleanse? What’s that?” when I read the title. I’d love a one-day trial!
Angie
This is so interesting! I have always wanted to do a cleanse but haven’t been sure where to start.
What is life without junk cravings? Go Joy!
Ecochic
I’d be interested in giving a cleanse a shot. And a juice cleanse seems a lot better than a water and tea cleanse I hear about a lot.
Anne
fascinating. your description of a colonic sounds more accurate to me than what i’ve heard from friends who *like* them. ew.
Lora
I would love to try Blueprint Cleanse. Good for you, Joy for sticking with it. It works!
Rhyann
This sounds like such a good idea to get your cravings in check. I have a huge sweet tooth!
Reesa
I am so all over this!
Sarah
I too just finished a cleanse, but didn’t have as much energy as you during it. I do hope to try it again though (however, this time I want to do a homemade cleanse as the cost was a little steep). Hope I win the book! :o)
Holly
I hope I get this. I’m so unhealthy all. the. time.
Steph
I’d like to give it a try, as long as you’re sure that the colonic is not really necessary!
Summer Delilah
Juice cleanse!! That sounds delicious to me. I love juice. All juice. It makes me feel healthy (even when it’s really just a protein shake with strawberry juice for flavor..).
Melissa
I need a sugar reset, too!
I’m down for the credit toward a 3 day…
Colonic? Well, I’ll flip a coin on that one..
Tracy
Radical. Good for you, Joy!
Michelle
I loved reading this blog! I did a cleanse once, but mine was a week long and you had specific meals.
My Dad did it with me so I wasn’t alone but it was still wasn’t any easier. Once the cleanse was done though, I felt amazing! Between a good ol Cleanse and Bikram YogaI was unstoppable! Until I moved away and lost my good healthy habits :(
stephanie m
I love the Blueprint Cleanse. The spicy lemonade is my favorite!
Lora downie
I need a cleanse after all this Christmas, January and February cookies I ate…
brittney
Me! Gotta Wedding to get ready for, I won his heart with your Honey and Beer Spice Cake!
Nancy
I’m all about not cooking! Bring it on…
Tracy N.
This is definitely something to consider.
Nicole B
Congrats on finishing your book, Joy! I can’t wait to buy my copy!!! That’s so huge!
I totally need to do a cleanse. You see, two months ago I met a gorgeous blue-eyed boy and fell madly in love. Bless him, he’s a total foodie and sweet thing that he is, he always takes me to the loveliest restaurants. We eat french fries and other yummy things together and long story short, I’ve packed on 10 pounds since we met! Kisses from a blue-eyed boy are great but my chubby butt is not. My body needs to press the re-set button. Time for a cleanse! I’m with you though, no thanks on the colonics!
Kellie
cleanse me!
Elizabeth
Congrats on finishing your cookbook! Although cleanses kind of scare me, your post makes me think I could do it for at least a day.
Amanda Jacobs
Ahh! I cleanse. I’ve been curious, but afraid. I eat mostly sugar. However, three days doesn’t sound too bad…
Laura
I’ll comment to that!
Congrats on your cook(/bake) book!
Ginger
What better time to purge thyself of toxins than now? Starting March, I will be quitting my job of six years, switching from a car to a bike, starting a bootcamp workout regimen and receive my first installment of a month of community supported agriculture. Will be scouring your recipe files for recipes to make use of all the produce! Transformation is the word of 2011, let’s make it happen.
Angela
I just finished a seven day cleanse, ugh! It DID NOT include yummy juices and I was starving the full 168 hours of the process. Next time I will be contacting the Blue Print folks. Happy to hear it worked our for you, thanks for sharing.
emma
just what i need. NOW!
Sobeida Rodriguez
sounds like this is what I need to get my body back on track after the holidays we had.
jenjen
Last time I did a two day detox, I broke it on the same day, kinda disappointing. Maybe I’ll finally commit to it this time around, if i win :)
Annie
Wow, you have some amazing willpower! I think that’s my problem, I have little to none. I actually have been hearing a lot of about the Blueprint Cleanse and reading that a lot of celebrities do it. I looked into it awhile ago but as a grad student it doesn’t fit into my budget. This is just what I need!
BTW, I just found your blog and I LOVE it! I’m hoping to try out a bunch of your recipes once I get some down time.
Crystal
I’ve never tried a juice cleanse, but your description makes it intriguing. I could use it after stuffing myself for a week on vacation!
Dee
I’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO TRY A JUICE CLEANSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Virginie
I love that it was all bout how you felt and not about the weight! I would definitely give this a try :)
AngelHeadedHipster
This is so what I need right now! Glad you tried it first, though, haha.
Claire
I think I’m taking this sign as an intervention. The Butter and Sugar cravings have been a bit controlling and keeping them in check seems the right thing to do… no? I’ve never done a cleanse but always been secretly interested in doing one. The cleanses I’ve heard about seem so bland and boring but if you say the juices are “Deeeeelicious!” then I say “Bring it on!!”
Heatherly
Your colonic description? Hilariously awful! My closest experience was a colonoscopy but they gave me good drugs for that dealio! Love your blog!! Congrats on the cookbook!
Ashley
I’d love to try this out!
sarah b.
oh i’d love to try this – thanks for the great giveaway!
Callie H
I love juice! I’ve done a cleanse before that involved food (but very specific types of food), and it was 12 days long… too long. I think I would like a 3 day juice cleanse more!
Lulu
I am a stressed PhD student going through a breakup. I need this juice!!
Christine
I was totally craving the BPC cashew milk as I read your post! I wish I lived closer to the one store in Manhattan that sells the juices by single bottles.
Twinkle
Sounds kind of awesome!
allijean
I’ve been looking at the Blue Print Cleanse for a while, would LOVE to get it a try!
shiela
you are super hillarious! i enjoy reading your blog-cracks me up all the time. love your recipes.
Sarah W
I LOVE your recipes and pictures but I especially love sneaking a read of your blog at work and having to stifle my laughter:)
Claire
I’ve thought about trying this before. I admire your willpower; I don’t think I could make it for three days! But one day sounds definitely manageable.
Joy
BluePrint Cleanses are the best!! The juices taste yummy and always help me “reset” my system when I go off on an “unhealthy” eating spree (i.e. -vacation, weekend getaway or super bowl party!!!)
froggymom
sounds like just what I need!
Kate
I made the banana cream pie this past weekend…. and snow!!?? is coming to Portland tonight. I will obviously need to bake somethin warm and delicious… and hmmmm I need this cleanse juice big time!!!!
xox, MuffinTop
Jodi
Had an emergency colonic once. It was the most painful, humiliating experience of my entire life. The next day, I had more energy than I remember ever having. But I will NEVER-EVER-EVER do it again. Not even to feel that good the following day. The cleanse, however, is something I’ve always wanted to do!!!
Liz Chalk
Cleanses have always scared me! I just love food! Would be cool to try though.
Stephanie
Joy – congrats on finishing your cookbook! I have loved reading your blog over the years and OF COURSE sampling some of your delicious recipes. You should be proud of all your hard work!! — Stephanie
Danielle Beinke
I’ve never tried a cleanse, but would love to see how I would feel after!
Marivella
Colonic = NO THANK YOU.
Juice = Yes, please.
Sherri
This is inspiring! I think I want to try it. The mental clarity thing sounds like just what I need!
Sarah
Cleansing is always so rewarding.
Beth
I feel like I need this exercise in willpower – sounds so helpful and healthy!
Yuri
I did a modified raw food/juice cleanse a few years ago and yearn to do it again! My will power is weak! This has given me motivation.
Wilma
Yes please! I’ve been feeling the need for a cleanse, and this one actually sounds pleasant.
Mel
I’d definitely like to try the cleanse … sans colonic …
pamela
BPC is great!
DreaLA
Done MasterCleanse, but this sounds much better. Sign me up!
Sonja
Congrats on getting through the three days. So curious to try one on my own (minus the colonic)!
ApexAngie
This sounds totally interesting to me…and I’m sure I need it after all the comfort foods of winter :0)
fl gurl
Joy-
After I found you last year, I have made almost everything sweet that you have posted so yes, I could probably use a cleanes or two.
However I shall not feel bad for loving this site.
Or sugar. So there.
Andrea R.
I’ve had a bubble gum tree going inside me ever since I swallowed that first piece of Bazoooka when I was 5. Blue Print could be the answer to my prayers.
Maggie G
I’ve been wanting to try this! I hear ya on the sugar overload.
Sara Palacios
I would love to try this. I have read reviews and it sounds like it really cleans out your system!
Katie
I’d like to try that, I’ve always wanted to do a cleanse.
Cody Tapoler
I just started training for a half marathon, I’m into trying a cleanse to get my body feeling even betterrr
Ashley
So interesting to hear a real world experience, thank you for sharing! I definitely need to try.
Katherine @ Dexter & Dinah
I’m glad you liked the cleanse! I’ve never done one, but I’d be totally curious to try it, especially if it is only a day to start – thanks for the giveaway!
Christine
Juice you say? Sounds delish to me.
Becki Sue
I’ve had a lot of success with a red meat and raw green veggie 3-day cleanse a few times in my life. Has ripped me out of the sugar crazy obsession I had been stuck in. I’d be interested to try a juice cleanse the next time I’m out of control (which will be in a week or so, I think).
Heidi K.
how very interesting. I’m so intrigued and I was scared of the whole “cleanse” thing now I would give it a shot. Thanks Joy!
jen
thanks for sharing your experience. i’ve been wanting to try something like this since the new year, and this is totally an encouragement to get on track with the cleanse. please pick meeeeee!
sofia
your description of the 80 year old on the ipad giving you a colonic is HILARIOUS. thank you for that. and i’d try a cleanse… for a day. A. one. SINGULAR ;)
lesli
would love to win this:)!
tsmom
I could use a food reset! Go you for sticking with it!
Karen
would love to try – as long as the colonic is not part of it LOL
Michelle Rene
I would love to give this a whirl! and start the new year off right! =D
Bree
Good for you! I’ve always wanted to try a cleanse because I have a lot of stomach issues, but never know which ones are good or safe. This one sounds great (minus the colonic haha).
Eliza
Which juice was your favorite?
Jen
I would love to try it!
Jessica
definitely want to do this.
Sandra
I have had the Master Cleanse book sitting on my bookshelf and gathering dust for months now. I keep saying, “maybe tomorrow”, “maybe next week”….best intentions, right?
This juice cleanse sounds WAY more appealing. Please….pick me :o)
jenna
Oooohhhhh, I have always wanted to do a juice fast!!!
Genevieve
I tried the BPC juices at a Tribeca Whole Foods tasting and I agree they’re delicious…but I’m sure I would have such a chew impulse! I do want to try it out though. I love your account of your three-day endeavor, so funny and probably very similar to how I would react!
Collette
I’d read about these but didn’t know anyone who’d actually tried them. Your report is quite helpful!
Thanks!
Caroline
I would love to win this!
Whitney
I would love to try it!
Noelle Matthews
I am currently doing the Whole30 primal diet, which in a way is a cleanse, so this would be great to try after I finish my 30 days of this!
Jan
Loved your description of the colonic! You’re such a trouper!
Leslie
Sounds fantastic!!
tracy
i love that brush stroke in the M! of last Meal!
Sarah
Cleanse? Sounds cleansing…
Stephany
Congrats!
Sounds amazing.
I’d like to try it :)
Heidi
Sounds good! Count me in for the 3-day if I win!
Amanda
Hmmm…. I just read a whole post on Cleanses and Colonics…. I don’t know how to feel right now. I think I need to go eat a brownie.
Kendra Fletcher
I could SO use this!
Natalie
Oooooh sounds hard (and I’ll skip the colonic), but I’d love to win this! :) Thanks for the post!
jen
I’d love to try!
Elaine
I would love to try this…
Megan
Joy, you are probably one of my most favorite people I’ve never met… the cleanse sounds kind of scary, but could be great for my sugar cravings! It’s really hard to go a day without a cookie…. and anyway, why would anyone want to go a day without a cookie? I know I don’t.. but I know I shouldn’t HAVE to have a cookie everyday….. anyway. You rock pretty hard core. Thanks for making me not feel as bad about wanting that damn cookie.
marykate
I think that it takes around two weeks to actually rid your body of a sugar addiction. It also wouldn’t happen while you were consuming nothing but sugar-filled fruit juices. The feelings of energy you feel are in response to your body’s starvation processes kicking in. Cleanses are all mental, though, so hopefully it provides you with the willpower to avoid sugar! I wish you would have done some Googling or spoken to a doctor before putting yourself through a colonic. They are totally pointless. It bums me out to see misinformation spread by a harmless baking blog, misinformation that may lead some other poor souls to have colonics. :( Anyway, probably everyone in the world already told you this stuff. Sorry.
Kerri
Way to stick with it!! I would check into this.
Leah
I have always wanted to try a cleanse. Bring it on!
HL
Sounds great!
Jill
Holy cow! I don’t think I could do a 3-day, but I bet I could manage a 1-day. Or maybe I’ll just put all my food in a blender and pretend it’s juice.
illana
way to stick with it joy….been thinking about doing it for awhile but haven’t gotten around to it.
Besides feeling silly energetic and missing dinner, how was it for your waist line (ie: did you lose any weight? or just maintain)?
KEEP ON COOKIN!
Heather P
Good for you!
Elizabeth
This story is inspirational, Joy! I totally want to do it after reading your experience.
Bekah H.
Midterms have come and gone and left me with chocolate/butter/frenchfry cravings all. the. time. I’d love to give this a try!
Dawn P
sounds interesting, I’ve never tried a cleanse.
Claire
I’m impressed that you stuck with it! Now I’m curious to try it, too…
amanda
I am also not a “cleanse girl”- although I worked as a vitamin health consultant at a natural food store for two years…(“sure, that acai berry juice will TOTALLY cleanse your colon!…. I think… : / “) HOWEVER, after a long IL winter and much baking/ strong coffee and more than occasional stiff cocktail sipping, my body is very much in need of this magical juice. Count me in!
Lianna
So wonderful to actually WANT whole, healthy food, isn’t it! Enjoy the balance :)
yeni
Yikes, not sure about that colonic, but would love to try the cleanse. Congrats on sticking with it.
Jessica
Thanks for the previous vegan post and information on this interesting juice fast. The website wasn’t so informative so I found what you wrote to be very interesting and helpful!
Lisa
Thanks for your honest appraisal of what the cleanse was like. I am ready to give it a whirl…
Kori
I love bpc! It makes me feel light and cleat and “clean”. I’m doing one right now as i leave for the beach on Sunday.
Congrats to you!
Btw-I own a cookie company so I feel your pain.
Emily
March 4th, 5th and 6th are the chosen cleanse days!
Jennifer B
I’m totally intrigued! I’ve been discussing doing some sort of cleanse to help get off the sugar – I’m convinced I can do it now. Thanks!
Melanie C
I have been trying to lose weigh (3 weddings within 2 months of each other)… seems impossible with cravings of salty and sweet. I think this sounds like the perfect solution to get back on track. :) Thanks Joy!
Teagan
Fantastic!!!
I’ve tried a detox program before — it was filled with lots of pills and extracts.
But drinking wonderful juice!? Sounds like a fabulous way to cleanse the body ^_^
Congrats sticking with it to the end! *high fives*
thefuriousepicurious
I have been looking for a great cleanse… of course I’d read about it on a great blog! :)
alisha roper
Sounds kinda cool. Id try it.
Sonya
Thanks for the write-up! I’m pretty sure my dryer didn’t magically start shrinking my clothes. I’m in. :)
Wendi
I did a cleanse once (notice how I said once) with Sauerkraut juice & hot sauce…mmmm!
Lauren
Ah, would absolutely LOVE to try this. Need some physical and mental clarity. (in juice form or any other form).
Breck
I would love this!
Cara Rahm
Sounds so interesting, i am in.
Michelle
I’m doing the cleanse right now- day 1- and it was so great to read about your journey!
greenbean
love this. and i love you for sharing your experience. i’m not totally hippy dippy either, so i trust this is the truth. xo!
Sarah A
I want to cleanse, please. I’ll skip the colonic, thanks.
Mike N.
Thanks for sharing your experience with a colonic. Now I know what I never want to do with my life.
Becky Back
Doesn’t sound all that bad, I would give it a go…
amanda b
i lost a ton of weight about a year ago but am still figuring out how to properly care for my body. i’ve been wanting to try the bpc cleanse for a while now, but student loans have prevented me from splurging. i’d love to have the chance to have some crazy dreams & be one with myself!
Melissa
I could definitely use a reset button on my food choices lately… too much sugar! This cleanse looks great!
Jenine
could really use the cleanse :D I’m getting married in August and would not only like to make my dress a wee-bit tighter, but that natural glow you described doesn’t sound too bad either. and by the way, way to stick to it ;)
Audrey
Goodness I need this!!
Jenna
I’m not sure how you did it… I would be craving ice cream, cake, cereal, pancakes…..o the list goes on and on.
Kristen Lopez
I would love to try a juice cleanse!
Juli G
Sounds interesting! I’ve wanted to try a cleanse before, just never found one to try!
Jennifer
i’m up for it!
Schirin Tang
@BPCleanse says Win a 3-day cleanse! But I could use either. It’s so tough on a student budget but it does wonders for clarity of mind and body!
Kellee
For someone who has always appealed to the idea of a cleanse and has never been able to pick one, this sounds so perfect. Not only is it from a reliable source (you), the juices sound delish!!!
Laura D.
Isn’t the cashew milk to die for? its like a reward at the end of the day!
Alicia W.
I’m loving this idea!! I’ve always been interested in a juice cleanse, but haven’t had the motivation/support to really do it. Thanks Joy! :)
Maryam
This sounds like exactly what I have been looking for. Not weight loss, just giving my body a polar-bear-club style wake up call. Pick me! Pick me!
karen
Ha! I too tried a colonic once. ONCE! The whole thing is just wrong!! I was afraid to go out in public for the rest of that day. Terrible!
Amanda @ Plato's Plate
I have always wanted to do a juice cleanse…because of the types of results you had! Congrats!
Ivy
I feel for you! And I respect your determination. I have tried various fasts, lemon juice, maple syrup, cayenne pepper, was one of them. But, I usually give up at dinner time, I just need food, or I am a mega bitch. Three days is just the right amount of time, if you can stick to it. Congratulations. The juice sounds delicious though.
sandra
Healthfest! I want to try the 3-day BP Cleanse!
lisa r.
after my “no coffee” headache subsided, i think this would be groovy to try. sign me up.
Jordan
Perfect. Been considering the cleanse for a few days now!
jeannette
my sugar cravings are OUT OF CONTROL. and sometimes i crave healthy things, like i’ll want a sweet potato and an over-easy egg for dinner and nothing else. but then an hour later, i find myself wishing i had chocolate on my face. so this sounds… right up my alley. i’m curious.
Rachel
Sounds interesting! I’m always game to try something new, and I do LOVE pineapple juice!
Renee Rasmussen
This sounds interesting. My friend and I have been looking into cleanses all week.
Sarah
I’m all over this! Except for maybe the colonic. Ew.
Suzy
I’m so glad you did a post on your cleanse since I was curious about what you did. Kudos on the great post!
I’ve always wanted to do a cleanse, just to restart things. I like the idea of this one, the prepacked bottles and drinking juice. Unlike the master cleanse, which doesn’t really appeal to me.
Now I off to have the other half of my cupcake^_~
Amy T
Sounds interesting, it would be worth a try.
Elizabeth Paterson
This was a great/honest post. Like you I really love good food, baking and probably have a little bit of a sugar addiction. However, I am very active and consider myself a healthy person. I’ve heard about the BP cleanse and would be interested to try the 3-day to just get myself in check (minus the colonic)! I’ve never been a dieter and believe in “everything in moderation” and this seems reasonable enough and not some crazy diet you can’t stick to.
Amanda
Congrats on sticking with it! Breaking your daily habits is always hard at first. I’m down for a cleanse… without the colonic. Eugh.
Rachel R.
I…am intrigued.
Kristina
I love BPC!
Kara
this sounds like exactly what i need! my sugar cravings are through the rooofffff!
Breanne
The way you describe a colonic? That you would describe a colonic for us? Priceless. It’s why I come back to this site every day. :D
Karleen
This is SO interesting. Thanks for documenting your experience.
Can’t WAIT for that cookbook of yours!
Nikki
I’ve always been curious about the possibility of doing a juice cleanse! I give you sooooo much credit for getting through 3 days without real food!
Stephanie
ooh, i’m just looking into cleanses- this would be awesome to win!
Sarah
My family has just become “health consious” so we need to fix years of damage done to our bodies. I would love to be our guinnea pig for our first cleanse.
Anna
I have had nothing but pepsi max and super supreme pizza from pizza hut for the past 12 hours. Before that, I totally had BK for lunch. I never, NEVER eat this much junk in a typical month, much less a 24 hour period. I could use this, please and thanks.
Dani
Cleanse me!
Stacey
oooh I need a cleanse! especially since I’m thoroughly disturbed about colonic lady.
Mary Sullivan
I really, really, really, really would like to try this cleanse. I really would like to try 3 days but I’d settle for one! Thank-you!
cindy
you know i’d try it!
i’ve been consuming far too much chocolate syrup…i mean, milk. and cookies. and fries…..
Emily
Count me in! I could use a little cleansing action!
Beth
This could be an interesting experiment. I’m in!
Robyn
I would love to try it!
Tamara
Congrats on sticking with it!
Adrianna from A Cozy Kitchen
I actually did Dr Jung’s cleanse (that was published on GOOP) for 7 days and had the same results: clear skin, not craving junk foods, feeling better, etc. It’s a great alternative to buying the juices. The menus are already created, along with recipes–it was amazing. I’ve been wanting to do this for sometime now, but the price-tag! Holy moly, the price-tag. I’d LOVE to win this, even if it’s for a day.
And for the colonic? Just no. NO!
Stacia
I want one!!
Lisa
I would LOVE to try this cleanse. Sugar rules my life and I just can’t seem to ever give it up. This sounds like a perfect way to get my cravings back into check. I’m already a vegetarian and don’t eat fried foods b/c they don’t agree with my stomach… But sugar… oh how I love my sugar…
emily @ the happy home
i would love to try that cleanse! sounds so cool.
Amber
I’ve been super curious about this ever since I saw a celebrity tweet about it.
Jenny Wood
Sounds like a great way to cleanse from a big event (like Thanksgiving to New Years) to jump start a new year and get the sweet cravings under control. Most cleanses don’t seem to have positive reviews on taste, so I’m very intrigued that you said this one tastes good.
Brie
Whew – sounds crazy!
Christine
I really liked your thought process through the colonic. Hilarious. I’ll take the cleanse…without a side of colonic please
Jessica @ bake me away!
eeek! This sounds kind of awesome, minus the colonic part (next time: colon cleanser that you add to the juice?). I’ve never done a cleanse and feel like it would be such a battle of willpower. Go you for being strong!
Cindy B
Totally want to try the cleanse… thanks for the great giveaway.
Beth
This cleanse sounds like the perfect thing coming out of the winter blues of chocolate, butter, and fat!
Keep us updated on that cookbook!!
Kate R.
Sounds great! Please pick me! I have baby weight to lose! :)
Lauren
I absolutely LOVE bpc!! I don’t cleanse often because of the expense, but could really use a 1-day pick-me-up right about now!
Thanks for the post!
Lori
Good for you! My husband and I are currently researching which cleanse to try this spring. I have never heard of this one and would love to give it a try.
xo
emily
ooh, i want in! my friend did the BP 3 day cleanse and was a fan.
Jenna P
Oh this sounds great I will need something for all this baking I have been doing lately……..
Caitlin
I have heard of this before… sounds amazing!! tried a cleanse once but it was very harsh… you know the lemon juice cayenne pepper thing…. well that lasted two days!
Cassie
Who says you shouldn’t try something new?
Michelle
I guess I will give this a try…
Steph
I also need to get my sugar cravings under control! Usually your blog does not help with that. This time, it just might. I’ve never done a juice cleanse, but I’d love to give it a try.
Thanks Joy!
Trisha Clark
Colonics definitely do not sound like a cup of tea, but you can count me in for a little clarity and resetting!
Good job sticking with it for three days! I feel like the thing I would miss most would be chewing?
Laura
I’d love to win the one-day cleanse! I could definitely use the opportunity to reset my cravings.
Lisa
Oooh very interesting – I’m glad to read about your experience with a juice cleanse!
Rachel R.
I’ve been thinking about doing this for awhile. Maybe this will give me more motivation to actually do it!
Leah W.
Juice Party! That’s what I call a Juice Cleanse. I’ve done it before and by the third day I thought I could leap to the moon I had so much energy. I keep saying I should do it again…
Patty Cake
Craziness! I was talking to a co-worker this morning about doing a cleanse! I too have had waaaaaay to much sugar lately and really need to get myself back on track. This would be a massive help!
elina fishman
love this blog!
Robin (noteverstill)
I’ve always wanted to try a juice cleanse…
Zahra Duffy
I am commenting for a chance to win the BP Cleanse as I sit here at my desk at work devouring Taco Bell fine dining food. Fitting? I think so.
julie
i’d try it!
Melissa
Congrats on sticking to it for three days!
Katie R
This sounds terrifying. I’d love to try it! A good ol’ cleanse would do me good, methinks…
april
I love reading your posts! You made me laugh, cringe and shake my head in disbelief…THANKS :)
Amanda
Perfect!
I was just looking into doing a cleanse yesterday! It’s the tight budget that keeps me looking around. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Kristy
Juice? Yes. Colonic? No.
Regina
Hmmmmmmmmm, gotta try this one!
amy
this i totally need. thanks for showing me that it is possible to not freak without food. :)
Katy
These things scare me, but I’m desperately in need of a reset button! Juice away!
Ann
Thanks for such an honest review of the juice cleanse! I think sugar cravings are the hardest things to quell, because all the food we eat is filled with hidden or not so hidden sugar. Also, I will dip ice cream in thin mints. I am very intrigued by this cleanse, would love to try it for a day! Will probably skip the colonic, though…
lindsey g
sounds interesting…and a good way to start getting ready for spring :)
Lisa
this sounds really interesting and i’d love to give it a try!
Emily
I’m totally scared, but if I win this then-sigh- I’ll know it’s meant to be. (And I TOTALLY have the sugar craving issue. Bad.)
Mai
I think I need this ;-)
Rose R
This would be a great way for me to get back into eating habits after I visit family and gain 10 lbs eating deep fried southern goodness. Worth the try if I won it :)
Amanda C.
Sounds great!
Emma
i could use a little resetting of my sugar cravings!
Sara Tea
I have always wanted to try a cleanse!!
chloe
I would love to try this! I’ve been eating icky college cafeteria food for months and desperately need a cleanse!
April
Sounds really interesting!! I plan to do some more reading about this and see what it is all about!
Cori L.
After your kale, pear, banana, almond milk post I’ve been trying to substitute at least one meal with juice, but this cleanse looks awesome! I would love to try it!
Jocelyn
Sounds interesting, a little hippie-dippy, but something worth trying. I’m in!

Katy
It’s always a good idea to try new things! :) And it’s a well-known fact that a girl can’t subsist on cookies alone….
Deena
I giggled out loud during your mental dialogue with the ancient colonic lady. :) You’re awesome, Joy!
PS. Love it when awesome people don’t own scales! I don’t either!
Ramona
I’ve been on a spree of healthy eating and exercising for a long time…and I felt great! but for some reason I gave up few weeks ago:( and I can’t find enough motivation to get back to it. As I read your article I was thinking blue print could help me so Sign me in too:)
carrie
i love a good cleanse! THANK YOU!
kristy c
i have been wondering about the cleanse so it’s great to hear about it from someone real.
erin
would love to try this!
Neva
Yes I need to do a cleanse, a jucie one would be nice to try.
vanessa
“it’s the fruit, that makes it fruity. it’s the juice, that makes it juicy. it’s the funk, that makes it funky, and it’s the junk that makes the junky”
listen to the song here https://hypem.com/item/13s7d
i wanna cleanse too!
vanessa
Cathy
I would love to try it. Thanks!
Morgan Cox
Always wanted to try a cleanse.. Maybe this is the one I should give a go at!
Margaret S
Sounds “interesting.” Will have to try…
Jeanette
I am so down for Cleansetown, it’s not even funny. Pick me!
Kimberly Marney
I love how you looked at this as a “reset”. I think the one day cleanse could be a perfect tool as a reminder just to nudge you off from a terrible downward spiral. I think I could use that about now!
caleychristine
I like the the fact that you wouldn’t normally do this. It makes me want to try it even more!!
Emily
Wow what a great story! Can’t wait to try it for myself!
Kellee
I have been contemplating a cleanse for at least a year but the cost is intimidating as well as fear of the kind of hunger where I may start to look at my boyfriend as dinner. On that note, count me in!
Cyndel
I will totally try anything once. Especially if I feel half as good as you just described!
Audrey
Oh! I’ve been eyeing these for some time now! Yes please!
Heather
Geesh. The colonic thing sounded like an awesome way to spend the afternoon. . . . NOT!!! I’d love to try the cleanse though. Getting rid of my sugar cravings would be AWESOME!!
And way excited for your cook book!!
BeckySharp
I also never thought of myself as a person to do a juice/cleanse reset, but — the idea of a fresh start is invigorating! Esp. as my new year’s resolution didn’t last terribly long… (altho. that delicious kale/pear/banana smoothie recipe helped for a while!)
Kristen
I could definitely use a re-set of my cravings :) Thanks!
Heather
Yeah, I’m game. Sign me up for the one-day option!
Tricia
This is the most pleasant cleanse experience I’ve ever heard documented in cyber space, including the colonic. I’m in.
Stephanie
This sounds interesting. I’ll give it a whirl.
Brittany
I’ve been reading about BPCleanse for months now..would love to give it a try!
Jenni
I’m actually trying to lose weight to increase my fertility, but have not been able to afford any of the cleanses and am to sissy to try the master cleanse again!
emily k
i have always wondered about cleanses. not sure i could do a colonic. i would probably have the same inner monologue you shared with us.
lara
Sign me up, never tried a purely juice cleanse!
ps.- can’t wait for your book!!!
margaret
would love to give it a try. Thanks for the chance.
Carly
I am totally down for the juice cleanse – no colonic – and I am trying to kick out sugar this week anyway… Sign me up!
Jodie
This is such a great time of the year for this…Spring! A rebirth of nature and a smaller midsection after a long winter! :)
Katie
I LOVE juice! It is the only thing that I craved with both of my pregnancies. This kind of cleanse is right up my alley.
Sara
Hmm, I’ve never done a juice cleanse before, but it sounds interesting!
Kelsey
This does sound intriguing…and seeing as how Spring is just around the corner (I hope!), a little cleanse might be just right!
Georgia Marie
It’s really nice to hear a real person talk about one of these cleanses. I have maintained my 8lbs gain from Christmas, and have had a really hard time getting off the sugar. I make a your chewy chocolate chip molasses cookies and devour them all in the same day. It’s just not ok. Delicious, but not ok. I try, God knows, I try. I bring cookies to share and then eat them before anyone else has a chance to even look at them. This sounds like the miracle thing that I’m looking for. When is the give-away for the life coach who is going to help me with my self control?
Molly
I’ve always wanted to try BP cleanse! The only thing that has held me back is the cost. I think they’ve really got it figured out. It seems like a safe, not-too-extreme way to cleanse your body!
vesta
I’ve been wanting to do a cleanse for a while and this would be the perfect thing!
Kelly
What is in the deliciously fresh looking salad that is next to the banana photo? It looks inviting and flavorful and refreshing, I could go for some right about now!
Cheryl Janowsky
Perfect timing! I need to mend my cookie diet ways…at least for a week or so. :)
Maca
I want!
Vicki B
Their juices sound quite good. I had a look around the web site and was impressed. Kudos to you for going through this. Can’t wait for the cookbook!
Melinda
I took some pills for a cleanse last year, and it worked at first until the second round of the pills – scary side effects with those! This looks like a MUCH better alternative. I hear you with needing to curb your sugar cravings!
stewie
I’d love to give it a whirl! Mainly to reset sugar cravings!
jess
would love to try this cleanse i have always just been too cheap :(
Tina
This cleanse sounds perfect! (As in, doesn’t involve weeks and weeks of lemonade and cayenne pepper.)
Kathleen
Can’t wait for your cookbook! I’m intrigued by the Cleanse…ah, not the colonic tho…lol
Carly
You make this sound so less scary then I thought it would be! (other then the colonic. yikes.) I’ve been wondering about trying a cleanse, thanks for the giveaway!
Season
I need this!!!
staceyk
Sounds like something good to try!
Joyce
sounds scary! but ive been dying to try it!
Kristina
I have been wanting to try a cleanse and have heard so many great things about Blue Print. Gotta get some more info on the book too!
Rebecca W
So maybe this will help my peanut butter cup obsession? Juices are good, they sound good!
Kelly
I love BPC! I would do it all the time if I could afford it!
Krissa
I’ve been wanting to do this one for a long time…just can’t afford to right now. But I would love the jeans not so tight at the waist thing and a little jump start to a healthier me! :)
anastasia
I love BPC! I just wish I could keep it up… after the first thing i CRAVE is chocolate… milk chocolate.
caitlingavaghan
I have always wanted to try this but the price has always stopped me. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Sabrina Clementine
Sounds intense, but I’d totally try it out if I won!
Amanda
I have wanted to try the Bluprint cleanse, but as you said, it is pricey. However, your review may make my save up for it more quickly.
alanna
i would love to try this cleanse!! you give me inspiration Joy!
Elizabeth
I have heard such great things about this cleanse. I would love to try it for myself! :)
Merage
3-days don’t sound sooooo bad. At least it’s not like the master cleanse (at least 10 days on bad tasting lemonade and laxative teassss!). This one looks like it’s worth a try :)
Alla
Hey Joy, first off where can I buy your cookbook? And second I guess I will try the cleanse also (but only the cleanse and that’s final, no colonic for me, I don’t think I can live through it. lol). Maybe among other things it will help unclog my head too. lol
Natalie
I want to try blueprint–i can’t think of a better time of year to cleanse..
CakeStory
Thank you for sharing this experience …blow by blow. :)
Justina
I’d like to try!
Rachel
I am so curious about cleanses. Sign me up for the giveaway please!
Melissa Swagerty
A cleanse sounds good right about now….
Molly C.
Cleanse me with juice, please!
naomi
yes please!! i am a crazy sugar fiend and it’s gotta stop!
Christi Clawson
I’ve always been a little curious as to what a colonic is like, I’m not sure if I still am. I would love to try the juice though! :)
Erin
Man, I’m feeling the need to get my craving back in check too. I’d love to win!
jean
i’ve always thought about trying a cleanse but they all seemed too scary. this one seems like this one isn’t so bad!
Laura
congrats on finishing! I love BPC!!
Donna G
I have fasted, but have never done a cleanse like this. It sounds do-able (except for the colonic part, thankyouverymuch).
Kay
If I get the package I’ll look at it as adding antioxidants rather than detoxing sugar, because that sounds a little too traumatic to say during Girl Scout cookie season.
Morgan
I like to do a 1-3 day juice cleanse to reset my sugar cravings after a rough month of PMS-induced cookie dough rampages. You’re not kidding about the energy; it goes through the roof! Can’t wait for your cookbook!
Tanya
You are funny! That and our obvious deep connections with sugar and flour are why I read you….Thanks!
Karissa Ferguson
That colonic thing sounds awful! I just don’t think I could voluntarily do that ha. I would love to win this! I’ve started running recently and exploring more in whole eating so this could not come at a better time for me! How do you get the free one day juice blend? Thanks so much for doing this giveaway and telling us all about your cleanse! Congrats on the book :)
Tara
I am so excited about this opportunity! I have been wanting to get the Blueprint cleanse for a LONG time!!!
Linda
i’ve been wanting to give this a shot for years!
Katie
I’ve done cleanses before, but never tried this one before… very curious!
bethany
okay totally intrigued. sign me up! er, for the giveaway. one-day sounds like a good test…
Jen
I’ve been thinking about trying a cleanse for a while now, but it seriously freaks me out. No food? NO FOOD?!
Autumn
Very interested in this!
Ella @ The Single Girl's Kitchen
i was definitely in the “i’ll never do a cleanse” camp before i read this post…but you’ve convinced me to try it. the only thing i’d worry about is i get migraines when i don’t eat, so i’m not sure how i’d do on just juice.
Shauna from Piece of Cake
I’ve been mulling a Blue Print Cleanse for a while now. I’d say a free one is a good way to push me over the edge. Thanks for sharing the details and withholding the particularly dirty ones!
Kate B
I am intrigued. My husband is into viewing Lent as a time to challenge himself and this year he’s going to give up processed stuff and basically eat a macrobiotic diet for 40 days (plus Sundays) and while this doesn’t mean that I will not get to eat ANYTHING carby and fantastic, it means I’m going to be eating much the same stuff as he will. (Luckily, both of us are vegetarian to begin with, and actually like things like quinoa salads and stuff. But I am a girl who gets hash browns from Dunkin Donuts every morning, regardless of how filling I found my plain yogurt and granola that morning. Because I’m there, picking up a chocolate creme donut for my afternoon snack anyway.) A juice cleanse wouldn’t be a bad way to kick that off, so I could actually be a bit more disciplined about the food that will be in our house and also not keep wishing we were going out to dinner where they have the delicious sweet potato fries.
Jessica
Just like everything else you write about, id love to try this cleanse!
Christine Custodio
Been wanting to try Blue Print!
Amy
I’d be willing to try it…minus the poop tube part. :)
Allyson
I love this: “My brain felt unclogged and I didn’t even know it was stopped up.” I am also wary of cleanses, but this one sounds like it is worth trying.
Jen G
Now… I’m not totally convinced a cleanse is such a good thing for your body, but this one does seem a much better option than some of the stuff I’ve seen – it has juice and veg. I’m always willing to try something new though!
SarahB
Hmmm…I think I may need to try this. I never used to be a sugar craver, but something has happened in the last few years and I find myself doing things like eating half a jar of nutella with a spoon. I hope I win!
Joni Hosokawa
Was thinking of doing the Master Cleanse, but Blue Print Cleanse sounds better. Sign me up.
Janice
I’d love to try this. I need something to curb the sweet cravings too.
jess
cleanse yay!
Jen Pack
Mmmm….juice….I like juice. I think I’d like to try this cleanse in a few months (I’m currently pregnant). Thanks for the giveaway and I love reading about the yummy things you make!
Ems
Interesting…might be worth a try..
Abbe
Thanks to your amaaaaazing array of pancake recipes I need to cleanse.
Allyson
This post really inspired me. I had a baby 8 weeks ago and am feeling all together very worn out – and generally unattractive with this extra baby weight. I also don’t own a scale but am really looking forward to the day I can say goodbye to my maternity clothing and start to fit back into my old (and might I add, very cute) clothes. Getting calories through organic, whole fruits and vegetables sounds amazing. Thanks for being honest about your experience, I think I might just have to give it a go!
Dannie
I would love to win the cleanse! I went on the website after you mentioned it on Facebook and it looks neat!
christina.eats
I’d definitely do this. If I made it through a month of vegan eating I can do anything.
Gwen
I’m torn on my thoughts on BPC, but that only applies to the hefty price tag. I’d love a chance to try! :)
katie
wow, that took some serious willpower! you go girl :)
Veronica
I think it’s so great that you did a liquid cleanse…This summer I was home alone and since I was so bored I started to bake every day and naturally eat everything I ate…I became really addicted to the sugars and HAD to have cookies/cakes/sweets multiple times a day. it got really bad because i would crash a couple hours every time after i ate something devilishly sweet (which was..everything in my house…). I wanted so badly to go on a liquid cleanse but i didnt know where to start! I need to get my sugar cravings down because normally I crave healthy, whole foods! (I’m a vegetarian also)
Lauren
Just like you, I love me some food! I’ve been looking for something like this to maybe feel better and to calm down my intense butter cravings. I’m adamant that cooking good food doesn’t always need to equal bigger pant sizes but as of yet, I’m not practicing what I preach. Thanks for the info on this stuff! I’m going to look into it.
caitlin
i’ve always wanted to try blueprint. but… i don’t want to try the colonic. can’t wait until your cookbook comes out!
Errin
I once did the lemonade cleanse…this sounds way better. i actually felt pretty good on the lemonade cleanse…but I was hungry and there was no variety in flavor. That was the worst part. I am excited to try this though. I have often thought of doing a juice detox, but never get it together to shop or prganize one.
tina
oh i love me a good cleanse! I think I’ll pass on the colonic tho :/
Claudia
The idea of a cleanse kind of scares me (I like food too), but your description of how you felt after is very intriguing…
amelia
I think I had a similar flow of butter and sugar flowing through my veins the past 3 months or more… I’d love to win!
Michelle
I’m impressed! I’ve read about the Blue Print Cleanse, but never had the guts to actually do it. Maybe this is the time…
betsy
Ohhh BluePrintCleanse, where have you been all my life? I wish I was a millionaire so I could live off your glorious juices because I’ve NEVER felt as good as I did when I was cleansing. I’ve finished the first level, and am now saving up to step up to level 2.
Suzy
I enjoyed your take on a juice cleanse. You are a brave girl for going for that colonic! I’ve cannot imagine!!
Mary
I literally just walked in the door from my yearly physical (where it was confirmed I’ve porked up a bit) perhaps a cleanse would be the way back to comfortable pants!
jsweets
Oh please pick me!! I am dying to feel healthier. I have been baking up a storm and need a cleansing like no other. Can’t wait for your cookbook.
Ali S.
I would love to win this for my husband. I think it would really help his cookie obsession!
Eunice
Hmmm, this sounds really interesting.
That mental clarity must have felt surreal!
Sonia
First off, where do I get your cookbook? Anything to support Joy.
Second…ugh – fine. I will cleanse too.
Linda J-H
Sign me up!
Mallory
This is such a great idea!
ashley
Would like to try the cleanse, not the other part. (Good for you though!) A detox now and then would be a good thing.
Love your blog. : )
Katie
I’ve always wanted to try Blueprint!!
Paulina J!
Get out of my mind woman! I will be starting a cleanse in March and have been doing research of what to do, eat, avoid etc. This would be an awesome addition!
Colleen
I’ve been wanting to try a cleanse for awhile, but didn’t know where to start. Thanks so much for writing this post! I’d love to give this a try.
jessica
Great job on making it through the cleanse, it can be hard, but worth it! And I find it keeps my sugar monster at bay too.
kara
usually the very concept of juice cleanses scare me (where is the cheese?) but this one looks pretty natural. sans the colonic, it actually sounds downright pleasant. sign me up!
Susan K.
Hi! Yes, periodic cleansing came make you stay on track! I just wanted to let you know that if you find someone good who does colonics, they are not bad. I was blessed to find someone in my area that made me feel totally comfortable, and I feel the colonics really helped with my detox/cleanse (I have had more than one.) Looking forward to keeping up with you on FB, and maybe winning something from BPC!! :O)
Nicki S.
I’ve never tried a cleanse before. But with those kind of effects to look forward to, it sounds totally worth it!
jess
I’ve always been curious to try something like this
Laura Z
I’ve ALWAYS wanted to try BPC and am a little obsessed, but I haven’t been able to justify the price just yet. I’m definitely going to check out their book! Thanks for sharing your experience, Joy!
Kelly
I would love to try it, even if jsut for one day :)
Thanks,
Kelly
Lindsay
I’d love to try it!
Anna
I’m in total need of a cleanse!
kirsten
why, yes, I have been in china eating rice for the past two months. why, yes, i would love to be welcomed stateside by a wonderful bounty of juices.
Erin
Love this post :) Juice cleanse sounds intriguing… colonic, notsomuch.
Joe
Your food photos are gorgeous! I’m trying to start cooking more and better, so I’m hunting around for places to take some cooking classes, and trying to incorporate some raw/vegan meals into my life.
I was actually just planning to do a one-day BPC so winning one would be even better!
I’m glad you had such a great experience and did a great job of putting the cleanse in perspective of living a healthy lifestyle. Keep on keepin on.
Glenda
It still sounds scary but would love to be free of my cravings. And if I win I will definately give it a try. Thanks!
Carrie C
Oh awesome! I’ve wanted to give this a try.
Chloe
I’m game! Sounds awesome actually.
Kristie
I’ve recently been drinking tons of that superfood grass powder and it feels awesome! It’d be cool to try an actual juice cleanse though…
Jen
I’ve been wanting to do this forever!! Count me in!
liz
i would like to cleanse pork from my body.
melissa
I just finished a much less intense cleanse and I’d love to try a juice one in the future. It’s my goal to do them 2-4 times a year – they always recalibrate my life.
Beth Wade
Thanks for sharing this story with us- I so rarely hear of a successful cleanse of any type, it’s good to know they’re out there. :)
Lily
Thanks for the great post! Will-power is an amazing thing – something I need more of when it comes to sugar!!! I’d love to try a cleanse!
Jenn B
Im quite impressed you succeeded and now super curious!
Page
This sounds interesting and I’d like to try it!
ed
Let’s cleanse the day away.
June g.
Juicy cleanse, yes….colonic, Nooooooo thank you:)
Helen
Hmm. I could do with a cleanse after my birthday. Turns out turning 23 isn’t enough to stop me eating allll the cake.
arielle benedek
ooo colonic. scary scary word! but the juice sounds fantastic!
Holly H.
I’ve been wanting to try the BluePrint Cleanse! I’m glad to get to see how it actually works. Thank you for the post! Sorry to hear about the um…colonic…not fun.
Alisha
Cool! I always wanted to try this brand!
Caitlin
Thanks for sharing! I’m addicted to sugar :-/
Jennifer
I need a cleanse, stat.
Liz
Sounds interesting enough – I’m game!
Iris
Good for you! I always thought a juice cleanse would be pretty hard, but apparently it’s not too bad of a way to “reset” things.
Patti
This cleanse may be something worth considering … minus the colonic of course. I’m in!
Ashley
This sounds much safer and more stable than most cleanses!
Beth
This sounds great. I would love to try it!
kitty
i like your style, Joy.
Mar
I’ve always wanted to try a cleanse, and you make it sound much more doable than I would have ever thought! Thanks Joy for the feedback!
Kristen
I wanna try :)) I’ve thought of doing it before but never got to.
gabriela
Entering this giveaway on the first day I got my booty out of bed to do some yoga! I hope I can add a cleanse to my health kick!
Meghan B.
I did my first BPC in January and absolutely loved it! I plan on scheduling my next cleanse very soon!
Melinda
The juice cleanse sounds great….the colonic, not so much. :)
Jey
Wow cool! Would definitely love to try that out.
Kristen
Thank you so much for posting about this. I have been wanting to try a cleanse for ages but I don’t have a juicer (my brother allegedly got me one for Christmas but I think he forgot to send it!). I’m glad to hear you benefited from it. I would love love to win this one!
Rachel
I’ve always been curious about these cleanses. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Kaitlyn
i’ve been searching for a healthy cleanse so i can start fresh and feel good about myself. Thanks for sharing and for having a healthy and realistic attitude about it!
sara
oh i can relate to this post.
i had a chocolate day the other day. seriously all day- all chocolate. it was fantastic. except i thought i was going to go into a sugar coma. not cool. but still delicious! anywho… i should probably do a cleanse too, or at least eat a vegetable, or two, or three.
Paula
I would love to try this cleanse. I want to quiet my sugar cravings!
Elizabeth
I have done several rounds of the BluePrintCleanse and I am a HUGE fan! The first 3-day cleanse was difficult, but totally worth it. From there I have done a 1-day cleanse to get myself back on track and a 2-day cleanse to refocus after the holidays. I highly recommend it to anyone who is trying to cut the addictive sugar out of their life or lower their dependence on caffeine.
We all fall off the wagon from time to time but BPC makes it easy to get back to a happy and healthy lifestyle.
Heather
Totally worth it. Thanks Joy!
Rebecca A E
Smiling lots :) Going to school to be a Registered Dietician. Holla atcha girl.
sarah maizland
I am super duper impressed. Seriously. From one sugar lover to another, way to go. Reading this made me want to do the bpc, oh but not the weird lady with the tube. Ummmmm no thanks to that.
Devon M.
This would be such an appreciated opportunity. I could really use this right now!
Stephanie M
Cleansssse! I’ve done a veggie and green tea cleanse for only one day, though.
Andrea F
I’ve always wanted to try a cleanse and you made it sound better than I thought it would be.
Libby
I would so love to try this. A few years ago I had the desire to try the lemon juice, maple syrup & cayenee cleanse, where your first day you drink so much salt water that you no longer NEED a professional colon cleanse. I quit right then & there…never continued. So, your approach to the cleanse sounds like a much kinder way to go! :)
Kate
Anything that would help with the sugar cravings- I’d try!
Rebecca@A Dusting of Sugar
I totally need to detox from sugar….and this sounds kind of awesome. Except I’m in college, so I feel like this would be kind of hard to do? But maybe not…also, I am NOT getting a colonic.
Erin
I would love to give it a try. Need to reset my food choices too!
stephanieee
me me meeee! this sounds way cool.
Amy S
I’ve never tried a cleanse before, but I think it’s about time I do!
Amy @DYKTMP?
OH goodness. I’ve been thinking about doing this. My friend and her boyfriend did a 10 day cleanse. She made it through, though I don’t know if she really felt much better. I guess I must try for myself. The 3 day kind though. Not 10 days. Eww.
Lori
Hi Joy!
You totally cracked me up with this post. I was literally in tears while reading about your colonic experience. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have been laughing at it, but man, I just couldn’t help it. I could just picture the 80 yr. old colonic lady playing solitaire on her iPad while your lying there with the hose you know where. OMG, too funny!
Which cleanse did you choose? I notice there a 3 different ones to choose from.. I would definitely like to try it, especially if it gave me a much needed energy boost, and de-fogging of the brain.
Thanks for the laugh Joy!
Lori
LB
welp, if you say the juices taste great, why the heck not.
Jenny You
oohh me me me meeee! been wanting to try this cleanse for a while but my pocketbook does not agree.
whitney
as an event planner at a catering company (who’s had, oh, 7 wedding tastings in the past 5 days; yes, that’s more than 1 a day)….i would love to try it!
Julie P
I want to win a day of the cleanse!! Ive been doing an excessive amount of baking too… Need to get rid of all the oreo filling lining my belly…
Liz Johnson
Congratulations Joy! I can only imagine the amount of self control you exercised as you described the cheeseburger craving!
Mindie
I can’t believe you weren’t hungry! You’ve definitely made me want to try this!
Alysia Chavez
I googled colonic, I knew what it meant, but I still tortured myself, by wanting to learn more about it?
Better you, than me.
Jennifer
I love Blueprint!!! Just finished a three day cleanse, and I know how tempting it is to cheat (avocados help). I don’t know how you made the soup and didn’t eat all of it. Looks delicious!
Alexandra
any chance they have a cupcake cleanse? Juice sound lovely…but a nice cupcake sure sounds nice too. Great post, Joy!
Jennifer
I would love to cleanse. I have been thinking about it as of late, but haven’t made the move. Just the jump start I could use!
Kristen
I have done a one day cleanse and loved it!! Really looking forward to attempting a three day soon!!
Marta
I would like to try. I’m in.
Vanessa
I’d give it a try (except the creepy lady with the hose, to that I say “No thank you”).
Bridget
Ooh, ooh, pick me, please! Seriously though, I have difficulties with my stomach (suffer from IBS and constipation) and I’m always on the internet prowling for natural solutions. I would love to try the BPC juice cleanse package.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Dafna
Wow, what an unusual post for you. But I enjoyed reading every bit of it! And I definitely understand the “wanting to reset” – I’ve been there so many times.
jen @ the baked life
Colonic – I would react the same about someone sticking a you-know-what in my you-know-where. AND why the heck was she playing on her ipad while she’s flushing your insides!!!???!!! Is angry birds really that important at that very moment? If it was Gourmet live, different story.
Juice diet – I don’t know about drinking juice for 3 days. I’m sure they tasted delicious, but I’ve tried them before and I love food too much. I think by going on the celiac diet or the allergy diet would provide the same results. I did it for 2 weeks and felt great. I didn’t crave sugar for a whole month.
Now, different story. I won’t turn down a spoonful of cream cheese icing.
Grad School Sarah
The stress of grad school, and this week of midterms, pushes me to crave cookies, candy, ice cream, cupcakes, and chocolate covered anything. I feel the least healthy I’ve ever been even though I strive to eat in moderation and make exercise a part of everyday. I hope to win the cleanse so that I can beat the sugar addiction and have true energy.
Hannah at FleurDeLicious
i tried a food-based cleanse at the beginning of this year, and i’m not a crazy cleanse girl either! i’m a little afraid of all liquid cleanses…but you make it sound like so much fun joy!
Brisha
I’ve heard of the bpc and would love to give it a try! Plus, I NEVER win anything so it would be extra cool to win something from you Joy!:)
Cait
Joy, kudos! And, I’m moving towards becoming a vegetarian. I don’t eat a lot of red meat any way, but I do eat fish and chicken. I work in an enviro NPO, and the more I hear about how bad conventionally-produced produce and meat are for humans and the environment, the less I want to eat them.
eva
Hi, I have a juicer at home and I am wondering if you know some recipes for home-made juice that are appropriate for a cleanse. Also I am happy that you achieved your goal and still maintained positive thoughts.
Alycia
Sign me up and clean me out! :)
Melania
I did the Blue Print Cleanse twice and LOVE it. It’s one of the things I miss most about moving to Zürich from NYC. My first 5 day cleanse launched a healthier eating regime which helped me lose a lot of extra weight. I don’t see it as a diet plan, I see Blue Print Cleanse as a treat. As for getting a colonic, I’m glad you confirmed what I assumed – some things are better left as mother nature intended them to be. Also, congrats on your cookbook!
Cassie, mamamakesitbest.com
I’ve been contemplating a cleanse, not to lose weight, but to really “cleanse” my system. What an idea ;) I would love to try this.
Julie
Having previously tried to cleanse my system by upping my intake of cookies, I’m game for anything!
Briana
Can’t hurt to try it, especially because no hot sauce is involved :)
Maralis
This was a great post!! The colonic story was classic! Thank you for sharing your juice experience.
Emily
I’d cleanse, but stay away from the colonic. blech! Unique giveaway!
Carly L
I could really use a sugar reset myself!
Libby
My roommate got a juicer for Christmas, and we’ve been experimenting with it, but I haven’t had the chance to do a total cleanse yet. Would love to see the results!
Kelly
Wow you are right. Those prices are quite luxurious. It would be really interesting to try.
maria d
i haven’t done this before, so maybe now i can try!
Shelley B.
sounds really interesting, I have been curious to try this but haven’t had the nerve to spend the money without having anyone I know try it first. If I win, I can convince others :)
Lanette
I’ve never done a cleanse before. I wouldn’t mind giving it a try.
Angela
Your so brave!
Amanda
I’ve actually been really curious about trying the BPC! Thanks for the laughs!
Coby
I think this would be really great for me since I was just diagnosed as a borderline diabetic with sleep apnea. Lame! (And scary) So the doc threatened me with death if I don’t lose weight within 3 months, when I’ll be tested again. I have been eating loads of fish and salads and blending veggies for about a week now. I want to try a colonic, even though it sounds horrible, I want to be squeaky clean! Urg, I guess there is a job out there for everyone….
*love*
Susanne
This sounds like a very refreshing and invigorating experience! Thanks for the insight…I would love to give this a try especially since I’m someone that likes to eat but can’t control my sugar cravings very well either :)
Stephanie
I am DYING to do the BP cleanse…funds have been a bit tight lately so that’s what’s been preventing me from trying it. I did the master cleanse last May for 10 days and it was so hard…I wouldn’t do that again…BP seems much more healthy and I would love to try all the juices!!!
Ang (Mind Over Batter)
You are my hero, Joy… My brain cannot fully grasp the concept “no solid food”. Everytime I try, my it shuts down. I have to press the reset button, hand it a Teddy bear and say its gonna be alright – Momma will never let you starve… Or put you through a colonic.
megan
love the vivid description and eagerly awaiting the book, Joy!
Brittany
I’ve never done a cleanse before, but this one sounds pretty great. All the juices sound amazing.
amanda d.
I never thought I’d say this about a cleanse but i’m intrigued…sign me up!
Whitney L.
I’ve heard of the Blue Print Cleanse before and have wanted to try it for a while now! I’ve never done a cleanse before but am curious…
courtney h.
i would really like to win this
Parsley Sage
This post is fascinating! I’ve always thought about doing a cleansing because I’ve heard they work wonders for joint pain. The fear! The panic! No food!? No way!
However, after reading this I think maybe I can give it a go.
Minus the colonic. Obviously :)
Erika
Hi Joy,
Could you give us any insight into the taste of these???
Heather
I’ll try anything, once.
Catie
Would LOVE to try this. I’ve decided to take 2011 to focus on my health, and a one-day cleanse would be such a lovely booster!
Kathryn
I tried BPC once and loved it! I did a very poor job of keeping with the principles after the 3 days were over… maybe next time I’ll fare better!
Christina
I love BPC!! Great cleanse. I’m glad it was such a great experience for you!
Amy Reynolds
Yay for Juice Cleanse!!! I’m in!
Molly
This is the first juice cleanse I’ve seen that I’ve actually wanted to do!
Meredith
I love that you had so much energy! I also am so glad your friend knew exactly what to say to get you back on track. I’m planning on doing a cleanse and I would rather not do the Master Cleanse because that just sounds monotonous..
Jenny
I enjoyed the raw honesty of your cleanse:) I’m a bit scared of them and have never completed one, but this was a smart reason to do it! Thanks for sharing:)
Laura
Hi! I’d love to try this out. I’m in a similar situation as you were — not looking for any sort of weight loss crash diet-type thing, just want a little help in getting my cravings in order since I let them get away from me over the last couple weeks. No good!
Thanks a lot :)
CheekyChic
Hm…cleanse….maybe? Colonic, definitely no! Clarity…ok, sure why not. The waist line of my jeans not leaving that icky red mark on my belly because they’re too tight….YES!
Kristin
cleanses are great! this one sounds yummy (as opposed to the nasty “master cleanse” lemonaide). Way to go, Joy!
Amy
This sounds interesting!
share
I so need this!
Teresa
Wow – good for you! I’d love to try the cleanse!
Jamie
I need to get my sugar cravings in check too. A cleanse sounds perfect!
Lesley
Congratulations on doing it! Not sure it’s something I want to do, lol, especially the colonic thingy. I am new to your blog and have enjoyed your posts. Today I’m making one of your recipes. I look forward to seeing your next adventure.
beth
Love your blog! I just found it today through BPC’s FB page. Your colonic experience is EXACTLY what I feared most about it, so thanks for solidifying my big N-O answer to doing one. :)
Sam E.
I think you may have convinced me to try something I have previously thought of as completely wackadoo. We’ll see if the universe agrees.
Katie
Ok, I confess… as soon as I read this I clicked over and read their entire site. I’ve convinced myself this is a must-do for the week of my wedding(30 days from today) for energy and convenience. Healthy eating isn’t easy amongst all the planning and last minute details…so this sounds like a perfect solution :)
Brooke
i’d like to try it, minus the colonic please :)
Aubrey
That sounds absolutely amazing! Cleanses have always seemed so daunting, but I really want to try one now!
Heejin
I need a good cleanse myself! I’d luv to try the juice cleanse.
hilary
I am so glad you posted this. I have been contemplating a cleanse but I was worried I would be low energy and light headed (I have a toddler and a full time job). Not time to slow down. Sounds like I would get MORE energy. Thanks!
Megan Gordon
Yes, please! I’d love to try these…my liver actually would feel the same way. Can’t wait for the book, Joy!
Carla
Great job! I want to see if I could stick to it like you did?
Hilary
I have always wanted to do a cleanse. That sounds absolutely great!
Michelle
Hmm…this doesn’t sound as scary as some of the other cleanses I’ve heard of. I’m game. :)
Bianca @ Confessions of a Chocoholic
I’ve been reading a lot about the Blue Print Cleanse and would totally want to try it too!
sabrina
Would love to try it! Would never do colonics, simply too dangerous!
Janet Brookman
woohoo!!! Go Joy! way to tackle that cleanse! thanks for sharing your adventurous experience with us. brave lady…I tip my hat to you.
Ann walker
I would love to try a cleanse. I admire your self-discipline!!
Ashley
I’ve been wanting to try a cleanse for a while, this seems perfect.
Mia Dube'
I have to tell you, you had me rolling on the floor wth your description of your colonic……I could never do one…….after having 6 kids in my lifetime, I think I have been poked and prodded enouh. I think your brave! Thank you for the good laugh this morning……now that made me feel energized!
Natalie
Sounds intriguing, although I’ve never tried a cleanse I think maybe it’s time! Clarity, yes! Colonic, no!
Kalyn
I’ve always thought doing something like this would be awesome!
Amy
I think doing a juice cleanse is just what I need to do to put my body back in check and reduce my sugar cravings, since sugar is playing havoc on my teeth. :(
Jacqui
I absolutely love the BPC! I did it twice last year (much to the dismay of my wallet) and both times it made me feel incredible! So many people look down on cleansing, it’s nice to get more positive testimonials out there from normal people that really enjoy food. I’ve been following your blog on google reader for a while now (p.s. CANNOT wait to make that vegan cream of mushroom soup!). I’d love to win this!
Lindsey D.
I was thinking of trying a cleanse before I start pastry school in July. After reading your post, however, dumping juice into my body before learning to make sweet things professionally might not be a great idea…?! But I should give it a shot.
Doxie
I’ve been indulging in too many sweets and terrific food since the New Year. A cleanse is in order for me!
Rocky Mountain Woman
Well, ok. but no colonics for this old mountain woman…
Nicolle
I totally want to regulate my sugar cravings and feel awesome on the inside!
amber
Wow! A perfect way to lift the winter right out of you!
Camila Lopez
I’ve been wanting to try a cleanse but never heard of one that worked so well! Please unite me with this awesomeness!
K
Ooh I’ve been wanting to try a cleanse! Congrats on finishing!
Jerilyn
I’m totally game for a cleanse – you sold it, Joy.
Rachel
I would love to try this! Thanks so much for the review!
Marie Baars
Neat! I have always wanted to try a cleanse!
jasmine
ooh. my mother tried something like this once, and i wouldn’t mind giving it a go!
Holly S
Sounds like you had a great experience – thanks for the cool giveaway!
christine
i did my 1st BPC (sans colonic) in january (3-day foundation), and your description is spot-on: you’re never hungry and you feel amazing energy & mental clarity. i went spinning at flywheel every morning too. i love food tremendously, and i recommend the BPC to everyone; sometimes your body just needs a break. thanks for the reminder of how awesome it is and for the soup recipe! looking fwd to starting another 3-day on sunday!
Sonia
I’ve checked out the BPC website more times than I’d care to admit, but haven’t taken the plunge. Would love to give it a try!
Michelle
I have been wanting to try a cleanse but was turned off by the lemonade diet! This sounds soo much better!
Madison
Congrats on the cleanse Joy! Sounds amazing!
Roxana
ooh I’ve always wanted to try a juice cleanse!
Janna
I hope I win!
Susan (Oliepants)
I have always wanted to try a juice cleanse! It sounds totally worth it! Even taking into account the colonic! :)
Sara
Good for you!! Way to go!
Carly
I would love to try a cleanse!
Jordan
PICK ME!!!
Shannon Matheson
Woohooo! A Cleanse! I have been seriously contemplating starting a juice cleanse this past month, and now quite frankly, I feel very inspired by your success Joy!
So a cleanse it will be.
Carole
I ate too many cookies and other assorted baked goods this month. Can you please help me with some cleansing???
Lynna
It sounds like you had a really good experience with the cleanse and I like the way you approached it. Sometimes I feel like my body needs a reset as well and these juices really do sound delicious!
Sonya
Wow. Congrats. After all of the horrible things I’ve read about people on cleanse diets, I’ve been scared to try it. You have restored my faith and peaked my interest. Would love to try it out!
Emma
Checked out their website and the way the program is offered, just juices or something called “Juice Til Dinner”. They send the foods if you want to do it that way. Pretty stuff, vegan, gluten-free, 95% raw…and they look totally delish. Would love to see this come out to Los Angeles.
Danica
I’ve always wanted to try a cleanse! And after my recent incident downing a whole bag of doritos and definitely noticing it in my face the next day- puffy, blotchy, yucky- I want the healthy glow!
Liz H.
I’m intrigued!
LaLa
I’d love to win!
Kathy
1 year ago I was a cheeseburger/fry girl, today I’m a go to the gym at an unholy hour, have a yummy green smoothie after and cheeseburger/fry for dinner :-)
Seems only fitting that my next step be a cleanse!
Thank you Joy!
Megan H
I have wanted to do a cleanse for a while now but never knew which one to try…this one sounds great!!
Johanna
A cleanse sounds nice, like internal spring cleaning. You’re brave on the colonic front, I can’t do it. However, bike rides and quiet time…check and check.
Nicole C
I have been throwing around the idea of a cleanse for a while now, but have never tried one. Sounds interesting. I would love if I could curb my sugar cravings…they’re crazy!
margaret
I’ve been reading so many reviews regarding the blue print cleanse to see if I can get a better idea about what it’s like because I wanted to try it. The reviews were either “it’s horrible. juices? I just kept craving food and I felt faint” or “it’s great”. That was pretty much it but your detailed day to day experience definitely helped a ton! Now I get a better idea.
I think the cleanse would be great! As for the colonic? Not so much…
Sara
I would LOVE to try the cleanse! Sounds like a good plan during these blah grey months in Seattle.
Shani P.
I’ve actually tried a cleanse before and felt extremely good after (minus the colonic). This one might be tough though no food at all!? Ugh! At least I got to eat lots of fruits, veggies and fish before :o/
Ashlyn
Hey!
I’ve wanted to try the cleanse for some time now, but the price is too steep for me. With the one free day, I’d definitely splurge for the other two.
Loved your recap of you BPC experience. I definitely want to give it a try now!
Ashlyn
sarah
I want to cleanse. My skin wants me to cleanse. The universe wants me to cleanse!!!!
Kylee
Sounds intriguing. I’d totally give it a go.
Melissa
I’m happy you felt so great! I hope I win!
kelly
Your experience sounds a bit like mine would be. To be without the things I love- it would be sad but probably good for me.
Julie
I’ve been trying to eat more and more raw fruit & veg lately, plus I just got a juicer for Valentine’s Day. I’d love to try this cleanse, especially since you made it seem so bearable!
Claudia
This post totally cracked me up. My chiropractor has been trying to get me to do a cleanse for ages and I just can’t make myself give up chocolate, wine and pasta. Hmmmm…perhaps this wouldn’t be such a bad idea afterall.
Claudia
me again…that salad looks amazing!
Sarah Puett
Girlfriend– it was my first colonic too!!! And mine was a guy!! Ahhhh I feel your pain, cleansing sister! Congrats on getting through the cleanse though :)
lia
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this specific cleanse, but it’s soooo expensive! Thanks for giving us a chance to win a day’s worth of juice, and that book sounds really interesting – I shall definitely look it up!
Meg
I would love to try this cleanse! Keeping my fingers crossed. :).
Becky
That coffee/cake off limits picture is so sad. :( Still, I think I need something like this in my life too.
Cookie
Boo colonic! But I have always wanted to try the cleanse…
Heidi T
I think I’d like to give it a whirl!!
Allie
I´ve never tried a cleanse before, but I think it would be great to expand my horizons and give it a try! The following week I promise to going back to trying all of your baked goodies.
Karin
I’m in. Willing to try. Sans colonic.
Mary Margeson
I’d be so happy to take a cleanse off your hands, J the B! (Colonic…? Ummm…no thank you.)
Amyella
Yes! I want to try a cleanse. But I’ll pass on the colonic! :)
Verelle
I think I am also still recovering from the Holidays… I’m know my body would love a cleanse!
On a separate note, a book!?! Awesome! I can’t wait to read it!
Caryn
This actually sounds like a cleanse I would do.
Allison Gleditsch
I have always wanted to try this cleanse!! It looks so refreshing :)
Becca
I left a comment in the wrong place. I tried this by blending the veggies and fruits since I don’t have juicer. I only lasted two days.
Erika
What an informative post! I know you tell it like it is, so it’s good to hear your experience – the good and the bad. My boyfriend actually fasts twice a week, but I just don’t think I could do that. Perhaps I’ll try a cleanse to “reset” my body – I know it needs it.
Kate Russell
I am not a cleanse person, but I am totally willing to try this. My sugar cravings have also gotten a bit out of hand.
Ben
Why not!
Courtney
This sounds like a great way to start fresh…and to peel off the talons sugar seems to have embedded in my brain right now. No colonic though. Just the thought makes me want to weep.
Heather Leiby
I’m game!
minx
this sounds so much better than the master cleanse…
When Pigs Fly
I keep meaning to try a cleanse but I can’t seem to bring myself to do it. Maybe if I got a package in the mail with all the directions, I’d get myself in gear. Kudos to you for sticking it out.
Leslie Wallace
I am reading Suzanne Sommers Sexy Forever Book. Thinking about doing a cleanse. I have a colonoscopy scheduled in March – That should take care of that part!
Lynell
Your description of the colonic experience nearly made coffee come out my nose. I’ve never tried a cleanse, but I have to admit, I am fascinated and very well may consider. Thanks for your always enlightening and smile educing posts. :)
Kocinera
I’m really intrigued by this cleanse! Usually this sort of system makes me a little skeptical, but the fact that it tastes delicious is definitely winning me over. Also, I tend to absentmindedly munch a lot–especially while watching trashy reality television like Real Housewives–so it would be pretty cool to break some bad habits.
Kocinera
…but I ain’t getting no colonic! :D
Diana Kinnett
I’d love to try this…
Marcia
I think I could be brave enough to try the whole colonic adventure. A cleanse is always good for your body, as long as it is done correctly. Have you read Kris Carr’s new book, “Crazy, Sexy Diet”? Great book, she’s funny and very inspirational. I’m really looking forward to your book release!
Brittany T
I love how honest and open you are with your blog! I would to to try the cleanse I am so curious!
melissa
I would never consider doing a cleanse, but the mental clarity and peace you expressed is most appealing. And I’m totally not a hippie dippy type either; so that says something. I’d be interested to experience it.
Rachel
I’ve never done a juice cleanse, but after reading about yours, I would be curious to try for a day if I won. Glad you had such great results!
Libby
I could use a good start on changing my diet…
Patty Hicks
You are a funny one! I have thought about doing a cleanse for a long time but have shied away because…well…I like food a little too much maybe and hate being hungry. After reading your post I am thinking I might actually be able to succeed in doing one. I figure that if I go for it…or should I say when, I’ll just come back and re-read your blog post to keep me inspired. Thanks for the good laugh and the inspiration!
Erin
I read about this cleanse a few months back and really wanted to try it out. It is just so expensive and my husband convinced me it was a ‘scam’ as he calls it, so I forgot about it. However-after reading your post this morning, i’m back on the cleanse train. I think i’m going to just suck it up and fork out the two hundie, regardless if I get picked for the giveaway (which by the way would be extra lovely).
Thx!
Emily
Cleanse me! I was just thinking yesterday that I really should fast a day or two this week, but… juice is tastier than air. So. Help a sister out, huh?
A Smallwood
Reminds me of the movie with mathew brodrick…what was it called???
Kendra
Oh Joy,
if you can do this im confident i can too.
Orrr, maybe ill just try the juice cleanse :)
Amie
I’ve done cleanses before but at home ones. Hmm, colonic…
Kitwana
I am getting ready to start my own cleanse in a couple of weeks! The task seems daunting now, but just like you, I think once I get going, I’ll really enjoy it. Congrats on making your own health a priority in your life (and still being able to eat what you like after it!)
Lindsay
I know what you mean with the out of control sugar cravings! With Girl Scout cookie season and my constant baking habits, a cleanse would be magical!
Caroline
I’ve always wanted to do one of these! It sounds amazing!
Emily
I once tried the Master Cleanse and lasted for not even a day. I think the deadline was too daunting, but if this is only three days, it seems doable, and your story made it sound easy! :) Except for the colonic…
Emily Z.
I confess I’m intrigued: I have been tired All of the time lately, and having the most frustrating sugar cravings. It certainly sounds like something to try!
Jenna
Wow, the only cleanses I have heard of make people want to hurl a bicycle out the window!
Kristen N.
I’ve always wanted to try a cleanse… minus the colonic!
Danielle J
Thanks for the giveaway!
sarah
i love juice! i would love the one day cleanse, but yowza! the price! i could actually buy a juicer and the goodies to go into it and juice for a week!
Holly Norton
This sounds very interesting. I would have to say no to the colonic, though.
Jess
I wanna get tasty juices!
Kristen
I will be happy and smile a lot if I win. Yes, that is a bribe.
:) <— but it is okay because of this
Emily
This sounds pretty fascinating and I’d be interested to see how a cleanse of any length would affect me and my energy levels. I always have very low energy, so I’m not sure if it would get better or worse. :)
Jessica
while I need to lose weight, I need to start by getting my food choices in check. Sugar is ruling over everything else and I need to quit those urges! This would be a great way to start! Um, not sure about the colonics though! ;-)
julie kostina
i’ve always wanted to try one of these juice cleanses… sounds like you enjoyed it.
Lala
I’ve heard horror stories about cleanses before. This is the first account that actually made me want to try one! :)
Emalee
After my massive eating weekend I decided I definitely needed to cleanse, too! I ate lots of fruit and tea (because luckily I work at a tea store). But I still ate chocolate. Maybe a little too much, since I also work next to Godiva. I’d love to try Blue Print Cleanse! And still having energy is a necessity for me, since I’m also a belly dancer!
Jen
I need to get these sugar cravings in check!
Please pick me!
Lauren
This sounds like fun actually! I have been meaning to do something about my out of control junk food cravings and wine consumption.
As horrible as the colonic sounds… do you think it was benifical in the long haul?
Kristina Wright
If this juice can make me stop eating cookies, then I’m in. Because I love cookies. All cookies. Unconditional cookie lover.
Heather
Yeah…I could do the juice, but NOT the colonic. And I NEED the cleanse, because I’m totally addicted to your buttermilk dark chocolate orange scones. Yum…and waaayyy too easy :-).
Kelsey May
My husband and I were talking just two days ago about trying this out, and wondering if we could pull together the money to do it! Your review totally makes me want to do it even more!
Eliza
Sounds interesting. Maybe I’ll give it a try…
Steff
Would love to try the cleanse! Just…not the colonic.
Laura
I LOVE you and your site — just made the red velvet cupcakes for Valentine’s day. So delicious and festive! I would be so thrilled to try the cleanse!
Thanks Joy, keep being delicious!
Ashli
Thanks for describing your cleanse experience – I’ve been wanting to try one!
Brittany Ukulele
Neat-o! I’ve embarked on cleanses because I wanted to see if I would really poop out all that weird junk you see pictures of. But I didn’t…and normally I eat healthy but hey, we all have our flaws. This sounds reasonable and doable!
Katie
I’ve been putting off my yearly mild cleanse, but with a free day I’d be ready to start ASAP!
Jennifer
I always thought juice cleanses were totally scary and you’d be STARVING the entire time. The way you describe it sounds totally manageable! I’d love to try it for a day and see how it turns out – maybe I can kick the “chocolate at 3pm” craving one day at a time.. :)
katie
my minnesota winter could really use a break. a juice cleanse almost sounds like a tropical vacation at this point!
Pam
What a funny post. Whoever thought the words ‘baking’ and ‘colonic’ could be featured in the same blog!
Jessica
I’m curious! I’d like to try.
Julia
So, I’m doing a diet program that really involves watching portions and eating a lot of fruits and veggies. One problem – I work it out that I can have chips or cookies or donuts or cake or chocolate or wine – every day! I would like to break the dependence that my mind seems to have on these processed items. As my friend told me last week, if they knew way back what they do now about sugar – it would have been outlawed like cocaine.
Trevor
hmmm a cleanse? Well, I’ll give it a try if I win!
Erin
not really a new years resolution but I would love to try it!
Tabitha W
WOW! i have not done a this in years. It would be great to do one again.
thatshowiroll
Congratulations on your cookbook!
Interesting to read your point of view on this cleanse. I also agree that the colonic is not a good idea at all, plus I don’t think would be necessary, no no! That Blue brand thing seems a lot expensive for a few juices… curious to see what is so special about it. Do the bottles have all the ingredients on it? Maybe we could try to make our own at home lol.
Can’t wait to see your next recipes with your mind so clear now! ;)
Amanda
Oh how badly I need a restart on the sugar cravings. I’ve always been curious if I have the willpower to make it through a cleanse.
Sarah
This would be great for me since I’m 1) a bit skeptical, 2) seemingly addicted to sugar, 3) really used to eating “just because it’s time” every day whether I’m hungry or not. Bring it on!
lcwhitty
A one-day “test” would be a great place to start!
Jessica McManus
What a coincidence, I’ve been reading all about juice cleanses lately and itching to try one!
Camara
I’ve always wanted to try a cleanse, but neverthought i could actually complete one. The fact that you did one makes me feel more confident in myself.
Wynn
I’ve been thinking lately about trying a cleanse. Don’t think I can handle the colonic, though.
christine yoo
i like juice and i’ve never cleansed before, hope i win.
Davis Ann
I’m interested… I like juice. And feeling healthy.
Rebecca H
Congrats on the bakebook, and the cleanse!
You always manage to describe life in the most ridiculous yet relatable ways – my favorite characteristics – love.
Rachel
I have always wanted to try one of these, but have been a little nervous, if you had enough energy to go to spin class I can do this!
Maria
YAY!!! SO happy for you. I do cleanses a few times a year (usually after I’ve overdone dairy, sugar, etc).
I have a friend who told me about the Blue Print Cleanse…would LOVE To try it!
I’ve tried Master Cleanse (not for me) and, most recently, the FABULOUS Kris Carr’s 21 day cleanse from “Crazy, Sexy, Diet”.
Peace & love,
M
Pamela
I generally fast/clenase at least once a year for three days. I stick to clear juices and broths but would love to try out their juices.
Holly
Coincidence! I have been thinking about trying a juice cleanse. You make it seem do-able.
Stephanie
Cleanses in general make me skeptical. I mean, don’t our bodies need a certain number of calories to operate functionally? I guess I need this book you speak of. Or some juice to try ;)
CQ
sounds great. did the lemonade/master cleanse a few years ago, was great jumpstart. thanks for being open about the experience…people thought i was crazy for doing it but it really helped.
Cheryl
I have been very curious about cleansing and detoxing my system and reading how yours went helped. I think I could do it! I am such a wimp and have no willpower but your day-by-day account has encouraged me. Thanks!
The Clothed Cook
Nice to read a review of this product from a normal-sounding person with a normal-sounding appetite! I’m sick of hearing about cleanses from all these food haters. Sounds like a good experience.
Jennifer C.
I know how it feels to crave sugary foods! My body could really use a nice juice cleanse: ) Thanks for sharing your experience — makes it not seem so out there: )
Amanda
A cleanse would be perfect to restart my new year’s resolution!
Faith
I’ve been wanting to do a juice cleanse for a while now!
Mo
I would love to try this….my sugar consumption is pretty bad. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Mary S
I’d love to try this. Can’t wait to see your cookbook!
Stephanie
Hi Joy! Awesome to hear that the cleanse went to well for you! Thanks for sharing :)
Ashley M.
I like YOUR version of a cleanse! A friend of mine used to go on a week long cleanse where she had to drink like nasty gross smelling concoctions and was starving the whole time. Plus she got real cranky :-). Thanks Joy!
Julie
Thank you for the info and sharing your experience. I want to give it a try. I need a pick-me-up and something to stop my sweet cravings!
Samantha
joy. i’m a girl after your own heart. i love butter and sugar, and lately my sugar cravings have been crazy! so if you says this is legit, then i believe you.
Kristy
Good work not only on sticking to the cleanse but for finishing a cookbook, can’t wait to check it out!
Sydney
sounds like it works…..I’d be willing to give it a shot
gretch
i love cheeseburgers, french fries, & cookies. this is a long-time problem. i also love brown rice & kale, but finding the balance in my eating is a constant struggle. maybe juice cleanse will help? i do love juice. i make a lot of kale smoothies- yum!
Deanna
My niece just finished a cleanse and has never felt better. She lost some weight she’s been wanting to and really changed her eating habits, forever, it seems.
Pete
I’ll try anything once
brownrabbit
Hope I win!! This sounds much more, uh, humane than that Master Cleanse… which I’ve done and is a total persistence task replete with altogether too much gastrointestinal machismo for my taste. I’m just not that badass.
vanillasugarblog
HUGE fan of the Blue Print Cleanse. Haven’t done it yet because of money :-( But would love to start with anything from them. They are the masters at whole body cleansing.
Anne B
Wow, what a story. It’s reassuring to hear you had so much energy and mental clarity! That alone would be worth it, I’d think.
Anne
Thanks for sharing your experience! I did a juice fast a couple years ago and would like to do it again. This service sounds like a good way to do it!
Melissa McAllister
I am in serious need of a cleanse. looking forward to your cookbook! :)
Emma
This sounds amazing! I would love to try this. And I can’t wait for your book :)
Amanda N
I have been be-bopping around the Blue Print Cleanse website for a while now, but haven’t quite been able to commit. The juices sound so yummy, but I like to chew! You’ve made a believer out of me and I hope I’m the lucky duck who gets to try a day for free! And thanks for taking one for the team and not only getting a colonic, but reporting back about it. I think I’ll stick with tea and lemon water to keep things moving :)
Teffany
I need a cleanse to help start my quest against junk food. It all think about lately. The cleanse sounds great.
Emma
That does sound totally rad. ; ) Good luck Joy!
Lauren
You are so brave doing the colonic!! I want to cleanse too!
LisaMarie
My mother is a huge fan of getting a cleanse. She’s talked all three of my sisters into it. I have such terrible sugar cravings/habits and don’t like myself for it. Maybe I should just go for it.
Rachel
I would love to try something like this! I think it’s good to “re-set” when you know you need it.
Laura
Mmmmm colons. mmmmm juices…..mmmm not eating for three days only to dream about large bowls of cereal with pieces of bacon sprinkled in (is that just me?).. hmm
Lauren
I’ve been skeptical of cleanses, but your approach seems truly healthy and reasonable. Thanks, Joy – and congrats on your book!
Katie
Cleanses are always something I’ve wondered about, but stayed away from… But since I would do one for the same reasons you did, you have me convinced!!
Courtney
Thanks for sharing Joy. Cleanses have always fascinated me, as well as freak me out. I feel more informed and no longer afraid of this thing we call a “cleanse”.
Tammie
I have done cleanses in the past to reset my system and have always had great results. Thanks for further ensuring my thoughts on colonics…never been interested. Eww! Great post!
Rebecca
I could use a little cleansing, what with the hibernation that has been happening… Thanks for the chance to win!
Jenny
If this past weekend’s celebrations were any indication, I think I definitely need to cleanse my system and restore some order to my life/being. Great giveaway!
Lindsay
This would be great! My sugar cravings are out of control!
Melissa
I’ve gone back and forth on wanting to do a cleanse for a long time. This would be the perfect incentive! Thanks for breaking it down and making it seem so much less daunting. Way to go!
Erin
Have always been skeptical about cleanses but, if it arrives as a giveaway on my little doorstep, willing to give it a try!
Kristi
Sounds like it was very successful!! Would be fun to try. :)
Julia
I’ve always been intrigued by cleanses, but never had the courage to try one… Maybe this would give me the motivation!
DessertForTwo
I would love to try the BP cleanse!
I’m a fan of the lemonade, cayenne pepper and maple syrup cleanse, so much that I frequently drink the lemonade concoction even when I’m not fasting!
cck
Curious — and not trying to enter again or anything — but, which cleanse did you use? Was this the entry-level version, “Renovation,” or did you go to the “Excavate” level?
Jen
I’ve always been curious about doing a cleanse. It sounds totally horrifying, but also really great at the same time.
Thea
Good for you getting cleansed! I am just getting off a week long birthday celebration binge, so a cleanse sounds perfect.
Amber
Doubt I will win, but heck, figured I would give it a try. Wouldnt mind getting this for my hubby actually, he needs to get his sugar consumption in check. Maybe this would help. Thanks for the recommendation. Cant wait to see your book!
Cassidy
I have my own juicer and whip up some green juices at home. Unfortunately, I travel all the time for work and its a tough thing to take on the road. A little blueprint cleanse would be the perfect thing for an upcoming Houston business trip!
Amanda
I am intrigued and intimidated by a cleanse. But having a pre-set system seems like it would make it a whole lot easier! My upcoming wedding is a good motivator, too.
cck
Congrats! Sticking to a cleanse is impressive… which is also why I would heart trying one out!
Nicole faust
your hilarious. And I love all your recipies. And the cleanse thing realty worked withr sugar cravings you had? Cause I have crazy ones too and can not for the life of me ignore then. Maybe a good cleansing is what I need. Keep up the good work!
Molly Hall
Would love to try this 3-day cleanse! I need it after this Boston winter.
Jennifer
JUICE for three days…it better be some dang good juice!
Amy W
I love your willpower. I just started a new “diet”.. it’s not really a diet it’s a “I eat too much sugar and started training again for my next fight so I need to change how I eat.” It’s awful. I can’t eat any carbs. No fruit. No bread/rice/pasta/cereal/etc. for 6 days out of the week and then the 7th day they say you can eat whatever the heck you want. I don’t want sugar on my off day, I want fruit. Lots and lots of fruit. And horchata.
Deese
I would love to try this. I tried a three day raw food only thing and it totally didn’t work. I was constantly hungry! I wonder now if I didn’t have enough juice/water. I think this would be much more successful, because that is a lot more juice than I have ever tried to consume in one day!
Thanks for posting about you experience. :)
Emily
I have always been curious about doing a cleanse….maybe I’ll try one soon…You’ve inspired me :)
Corinna
I’ve been in a sugar crave faze lately and could sure use this cleanse for that particular reason! Sounds like it worked great for you!!
Megan
I’ve always been curious about cleanses. I think I could do it, minus the colonic that is…
Erin
Sounds fun enough! :)
Larissa
Congratulations! Those diets are hard…you did great! I’d love to try the cleanse.
Kristin
That sounds neat. Exactly what I need this time of year!
Liz
Yesterday was my birthday, meaning I had brownies for dinner and ice cream for lunch…a cleanse would be great!
Susan
I’ve always wanted to try a cleanse… minus the colonic! Great giveaway!
Brande
I been hearing alot about cleanses and would love to try one. I’m intrigued! About once a month I swear I’ll give up refined carbs and then I get stressed and stop. This would be a great jump start!
Amarie
I had great results with the last cleanse I did.
lol. Pick me! ;)
Janice
I’ve been curious about cleansing – have read about different ones. Pretty sure I can make it through day one…. I’m surprised you took on physical activities — biking etc. The one’s I’ve read about suggest that you take it easy – rest etc. during the 3-day cleanse. Do you think the results would still be good if I skip the colonic?
B. in the Know
I really want to try the juice cleanse. I have read about it and heard about it from others but never tried it for myself – but this would be the perfect oppurtunity! Hope you are having a great week!
Much love,
B
Kim
I need to reset my sugar cravings fast! It’s a no go on the colonic though, how scary….
Allisa
Your colonic story is great. Similar to what I felt my first time. I will NEVER do it again!
Stephanie
This sounds just exactly like what I need right now. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Lisha
I go to sleep planning my dinner the next day. I also count every step I take to be -1 calorie so I can eat more. Cleanse me please.
Kara
Always been intrigued to try a cleanse. . .never had enough willpower. Would probably last 1 day!
Meredith
I recently got married, moved, and am looking for a job. The combo of cooking for my husband and baking because I’m bored has made for one unhappy waistline.
ErinW
This sounds interesting. I don’t really know anything about cleanses, but my generally healthy diet still has not quite recovered from the holidays, so I may have to check this out. :)
Rachelle
I’m willing to give it a try! I could use some energy and clarity.
Elizabeth
I’m never one for all the hippy-dippy cleanse nonsense, and I think Gwyneth Paltrow just has too much time on her hands, but I’ve done Blueprint Cleanse twice now, and both times I felt fantastic afterward! I’ve been considering doing a cleanse again anyway, and I would love to win this to jumpstart my process of getting back into good health.
Alex
I have always wondered about cleanses… whether or not I had the willpower to actually get through it and if they were even healthy for your body. I love reading about how your felt while on the cleanse though, very interesting!
Julia
A cleanse sounds so great now that Spring is around the corner. My sugar cravings and eating habits have been out of control! I’m always up to try new things…hellooo cleanse
Marc
I had totally looked into this but just hadn’t gone through with it yet, because your right about it being a total luxury and not an obviously awesome luxury like a trip to Vegas. So thanks for detailing the experience and if I win I will totally pony up the dough for the 3 day experience, colonic included….well maybe not the colonic : P
Liz @ Tip Top Shape
Oh! And also-I made your dark chocolate orange scones for my dorm bake sale tomorrow! I had one of my friends taste test (I’d had them before) and she absolutely loved them!! Can’t wait to spread Joy The Baker love around my dorm tomorrow morning :D
Kendra
I’ve been looking for a way to help me ‘detoxify’ my body as I start training for my first 5K. I am NO runner, so I need all the help I can get. I’m determined to do this run as it is for a great cause, and this seems like a great boost to help me get started in the right direction.
Brenda
Now the cleanse sounds amazing. I think everyone at some point needs to find mental clarity….the colonic however….no thanks!
Jen
I’m all for cleansing the system – especially this time of year, when all you want to do is burrow in your apartment and eat mashed potatoes. It’s not a bad idea to clean things out a bit. I’m glad you had a pleasant experience, I hope to try it as well!
Nicki Woo
I could totally use a cleanse, and a my mother would say a colonic. I’ll pass on number two.
Your post was very informative and FUN-KNEE!
Thanks for that!
Liz @ Tip Top Shape
This was interesting! A normal person on a cleanse!! I would be awful on one-constantly thinking about food. Wouldn’t mind giving one day a go if I won, though!
Melissa
I have really been wanting to try this so it would be rad to win!!
Christina Burrell
I love your blog, your baking, and I would love to win!
Sara
Hmm… very interesting, but the juice flavors sound delicious.
Jen-
I have a friend that just did a cleanse for FIVE DAYS! I’m more the 1-3 day speed I think. Although you never know. Would love to try it!
Jem
I considered doing this cleanse a few months ago after I heard someone else talk about it. They are located in New York right?
Kelci Smith
I’ve been wanting to do a cleanse for like, forever. AND I don’t generally like doing things to my body that a reliable source hasn’t tried yet. SO, this is perfect since I count you as a very reliable source. :)
Meg R
I have tried a few cleanses in my day, some good some bad. I think it’s always a good idea to rid the body from on overload of sugar toxins. Us bakers need that.
Chelsea
i’ve been sooo wanting to do a cleanse lately…i bake too, (sorta a lotz), and um…yeah..i think one of these is needed. it would be a fun challenge, i think!
Evelyn
Are there any more natural ways to “cleanse”? The 3-day costs $255. That’s more than I spend on groceries for an entire month (sort of).
Michelle
I am a rather healthy little chica with a serious baking addiction who lives in the heart of Washington’s wine country. Sometimes it gets a little out of control. I totally enjoy a little self check in from time to time.
I thought I was doing something good as well when I went to have a colonic. HORRID! I couldn’t get out of there fast enough! She said I needed to continue to come for three more months! The thought still sends shivers where they shouldn’t be and makes me want to drink more wine in spite.
Christina
I was thinking about doing a cleanse through the CLEAN program but was scared about how long they suggest you do it for. I would love to try it for three days! Minus the colonic :)
Lauren
Thank you for sharing your experience- I’ve been wanting to try their 3 day cleanse and it’s nice to hear a real report!
Yvonne
This sounds great! I actually love to drink juices (I’m always craving juice and smoothies for some reason…) so this sounds like a dream come true :D
Andrea
I recently got engaged to my wonderful boyfriend and we’ve started to go for 2 mile walks together on this DVD his mom gave us. Let me tell you, it’s KILLER. After the first mile I just wanted to curl into a ball and gasp for air! Definitely not as in shape as I thought I was.
Last fall I started to cut things out of my diet including sugars and breads…I know…CRAZY. But I felt like if I could take control of those things and eliminate them when I wanted to, losing weight would be easier without all those cravings. I haven’t lost any weight yet but I feel better.
A cleanse would be the perfect thing for me to jump start my metabolism and finally get on track to becoming a healthier bride! Our wedding is next January so now I just have to fight through all the holidays…haha
Thanks, Joy! Your blog is great!
Tashi
A cleanse would be a way to kick me off the plateau I’ve hit in my quest to be good this year!
Avalein
Unfortunately, I completely feel your pain (somewhat literally) when it comes to the colonic experience. However, my ‘practitioner’ (let’s say) wasn’t quite as ancient and didn’t have an iPad. I think if she did I would have been lying there miffed that she is obviously being paid way too much just to make people poop. Anyways, it’s February in the midwest and we’re just getting our first bits of sunshine in what feels like forever and I just got out of a pretty negative relationship so it might be the perfect time for a cleanse!
A Tablespoon of Liz
wow, this looks like so much fun! (Is fun the right word? haha)
sarahannerw
alright, you have my attention. Now off to read up on BPC.
Lauren
I was just contemplating the idea of a cleanse. I think this is a sign! And three days is manageable, right?
Alex B.
I hope I win, I’ve been wanting to try the BPC for a long time! And after reading this, it doesn’t sound too bad.
Melissa
I’ve recently been thinking that a cleanse might be a good thing for me, and I like that this one is based on juices (and only 3 days). But I don’t know that I could do the colonic though!
Jessica
That cleanse sounds really interesting, and, from what I’ve seen on the website, quite tasty, also! It must work, if you feel so healthy and radiant!
Lauren
I’ve always been rather curious about these cleanses but haven’t had the guts (or the money) to actually commit.
Ann
I’ve been thinking of doing a cleanse recently and your experience has convinced me to do it! Next weekend!
Shannon
I really like your perspective on this cleanse! It certainly has me feeling motivated for another one for myself.
Ashley
Really interested.. always wanted to try this and you have convinced me! Kudos to you for finishing!
vanessa
we all need someone to keep us in check when we’re on a healthy eating streak! my best friend has a habit of sending a text promptly at 6:30pm that says “no wine for you”. sometimes i want to punch her through the phone, but i’m glad she does it because it’s always worth it!
Emily
Congrats on completing the cleanse!! I’m so so impressed.
mwooching
I love your blog. You are a great writer and I laugh daily reading it. This cleanse looks really interesting. I have never done one but have always wanted to. Thanks so much for your great work.
Maggie
Joy,
Thank you for this post! I have been pretty skeptical of cleanses/detoxes, but this post has changed my mind. Lately, maybe it’s the winter blahs, but I have felt the need to curb my sugar and wine intake and I am very intrigued with BPC. Thanks again for the head’s up!
Natasha @ Saved by the Egg Timer
I have done many a cleanse and have heard good things about this one. Kombucha is a great way to cleanse and regulate sugar craving after the holidays too if you like that kind of tea. Give your digestion a slight knudge. Sounds like it did the right thing with getting your reset button on food too :) Trust me, been there, done that! Our bodies are so forgiving. Can’t wait for your cookbook!
Andrea
I’ve always been interested in juice cleanses, but since I love food so much I figured I would hate them. If you can do it Joy, then I know I can!
Lori
This sounds like a healthy way to get back on track. I have friends from Russia who do juice cleanses a few times a year. If they can be healthy in the wilds of Russia doing a few days of cleansing a year, it can’t hurt this overindulged American gal one bit!
Casey
This would be an interesting experiment and one I”ve been thinking of for a while. Sign me up!
gracie
Cleanse…always been contemplating one….would like to know how to make my own juices. Glad that we all fantasize about food and cheeseburgers and the like!
Amy
I’ve been wanting to do the Blueprint cleanse forever (and instead have just done raw/vegan cleanses) but have always been stopped by the cash flow cost. Thanks for this possible opportunity! You rule!! And, I love your blog and have for quite some time. –Addicted to green smoothies because of you!
Katrina
I’ve recently found that grapefruit juice gives me a lot of energy and it’s great!
andrea
Dear Joy,
Hope you are doing fine.
I want to ask you something, I made this cake and I think I bake it much time:
https://www.joythebaker.com/blog/2008/04/old-school-fudge-brownies-with-walnuts/
my question is , how I know it is done?, it is moist as I can see in the picture, so the knife doesn’t have to be dry when I inserte it?
Thank you and best regards.
Andrea from Bolivia
Mary J
I’ve always wondered about cleanses. I’d love to give it a go, because lately all I can think about is sitting on my living room floor, shoving my mug into a huge bowl of rice pudding.
Stephanie
i’ve been toying with the idea of a cleanse lately. its the end of february and my sugar cravings are still out of control from the holidays.
i blame girl scouts for extending cookie season…yes, i’m blaming children. and am sadly ok with that.
Peggy
I’ve flirted with trying a cleanse. I’d like to think of it as a reset button for my digestion. I’ve been on a bad food spiral for a long long time now and maybe this would help.
I think I’d be willing to give it a try.
sign me up … Peggy
kristy.lynn
i’m sure i won’t win.. but maybe if i do it’s a sign from the cosmic forces. (’cause i’m in a rut in my actual weight loss & i have cookies screaming at me from the kitchen) :)
Danielle smith
This is what I need. I just had a baby earlier this month and going from eating whatever I craved to having to now stop and watch what I eat hard. I need to rid my body of the craving junk mode I’ve been in for the last 9 months!!!
Rachel
I would love to win the cleanse ~ my sugar cravings have been out of control lately. (Hellooo ice cream at midnight)
Shannon
Admittedly, I’m a little leery of cleanses, but it could be interesting.
Chia
Dear Joy, I really enjoy your blog. I especially love that vegan recipes are included! Your yummy recipes and cheeky sense of humor have totally made it part of my daily reads :-)
Like you, I adore sweets. Perhaps a bit too much. Thus, I would love to try this cleanse that you recommended… ^_^
Julia
Hmmm….sounds interesting. I’ve always wanted to try something like this.
JoAnn
Challange accepted!
Dawn
Wow, a 3 day cleanse while writing a food blog is very brave! I’m feeling braver about trying a cleanse, since you said you weren’t hungry. I’m not doing the colonic, though!
Stephanie
I totally follow you on Twitter, and checked them out after you first tweeted about it. I would LOVE to win! I’ve always wanted to do a cleanse, and they look superb! :)
Emily
I tried a detox this year. It involved only eating vegetables, vegetables, some fruit, some fish and vegetables. I put on 200g :-( But it did improve my water intake and reduce my sugar and fat cravings.
A friend of friend went to a detox program in Thailand where each morning they performed DIY colonics. Bizarre.
Foley
This sounds amazing!
amanda
good for you sticking out the cleanse! sounds fabulous.
Lily
A couple of coworkers and I did a one-day BPC regimen a few weeks ago. I’m not convinced of any direct health benefits, but the day-before preparation and one day without solid food really does reset your mental food button and curb cravings for junk. Plus the PAM juice and cashew milk are so delicious. But it IS really expensive for just juices. :(
Grace
Hi Joy… just wondering 1) if you’ve done cleanses previous to this one, and 2) why you chose to do this one, among all the other ones.
The reason why I’m asking is that I’m looking to do a cleanse too, but it seems like they’re so expensive. I want something that’s short (I can’t do more than 10 days), relatively cheap, but effective, and I can’t decide on which one!
Thanks!
Laurie
Always wanted to try a cleanse…scared to though, you might have convinced me to try…especially if I get one for free. :)
Hazel
Sounds great!
Natalie
Hm… Sounds worth it. Great job!
Jacquie
While I hate the word “cleanse” and the thoughts they conjure, I’ve had some of the BPC juices before and they are so good. I feel like if you go into it has a way to add something to your life (to give your system a break for a day.. or three) with an end point, there’s no harm since these juices are very good for you. However, it’s not something that can be used forever.
Destiny
Woo Hooo!!!! I LOVE!!!! I have never done a cleanse and I am actually in dire need of one.
Tania
I also have a serious addiction to sugar…how nice it would be to kick the habit..or at least slow it down a little bit.
Heather S
I’d certainly try the cleanse…but nope on the colonic. You must be the bravest person on earth. I cried inside just reading about it. ;)
Noelle
Joy,
I love your blog! You’ve inspired me to try the cleanse…so I am putting my name out there…
Also, thanks for being awesome!
victoria
hmm…i have juice fasted before, on my own…i would love to try a fancy cleanse…off to find you on facebook!
Kelsi
I have always wanted to try a cleanse and I have heard such good things about the blp cleanse system. Congratulations on finishing the cookbook!
Natalie
Wow, thanks for sharing your experience… it sounds intriguing and I would be willing to give it a try…
Amanda
I’ve always been curious about a cleanse!
Rebecca
I don’t think you have to be hippy-dippy to say things like “mental clarity.” I think you have to be self-aware, and that is nothing to be ashamed of!
Callan
Juuuuuuuuiiiiiiiccccccceeeeee! Good job, by the way. This is something I’d like to try.
star
Interesting. The colonic I would definitely do without! I like the idea of resetting my food cravings. Seems like going without solid food for 3 days is a big challenge.
Leslie
Interesting…. I know when I am careful about what I eat, those nasty sugar cravings go away. But they come back when I start to indulge again. Let us know if they resurface.
I’m guessing the cleanse could jump start a spring cleaning of the insides! No way to colonics though – too many things could go awry there!
Hillary
I’ve always wanted to try a three-day cleanse to reset it all – and this one sounds pretty amazing! Congrats on making it through!
alanna rodgers
hi.
yes.
i need to do this, because i too feel like i’ve absorbed butter and sugar through my pores… and oh to feel great in those jeans again!
Dar
I tried drinking just water for one day, it was going good until the evening, then I got horrible munchies. But I plowed through and in the morning I felt great and full of energy! But juice sounds better. I like free juice.
Nan
Anything to help me reduce my sugar cravings is worth a shot!
Emily
I’m glad to hear a review from someone that I respect their opinion, especially when it comes to placing food down the hatch! Concider me entered and excited! Thanks Joy!
Laurel Harrison
Good job sticking by the cleanse, Joy! My cravings for food hit me pretty hard and I always feel like I have to eat every 4 hours or I get super cranky. Maybe a cleanse would be a good way to “reset” myself. Thanks for offering this giveaway!
Rebecca R.
I loved reading every bit of your post. I’ve always wanted to do a cleanse but I’m a wimp….a sugar loving wimp. A lady at work is selling Girl Scout cookies and the Samoas are kicking my butt.
Erin
Wow! You’re a champ-spin class in the middle of a cleanse??? Amazing!!!! I’d love to try it :)
charley
I tried an all fruit cleanse for three days and it was TORTURE, but I did have lots of energy and slept really well. Afterwards I treated myself to bean burritos and lots of queso!!!
Donna
I have always wondered how I would feel after such a cleanse. What happens if you only do it 1 day? Do you still feel those wonderful effects like you did? I think I would skip the colonic. My doctor says I’m overdue for a colonoscopy, maybe I could try the cleanse the day before. LOL
Fariba Kerendi
You just might have talked me into it Joy!
sherri lynn
no food for 3 days sounds sooo challenging, but i am really interested in trying it!
louise
GOD, I could really do with a cleanse, I have sugary cravings all the time! When I wake up, when I’m eating, when I go to sleep…
Lina
Congrats on going through that cleanse thingy- It must have been really hard for you. I suspect that you did lose a bit of weight; your calories were probably reduced during the cleanse. Also, diets high in potassium, fluids, and low in sodium help banish water retention- an easy few pounds.
Maggie
Throwing my hat in the ring for the BPC giveaway. Sugar and wine are food groups to me.
Melissa B
I’ve heard lots of good things about BPC, would love to try it!
Lori S
I think I could live without food…but coffee? ugh!
Kate
I have been thinking about trying this since the beginning of the year! Perfect chance to check it out! Thanks Joy!
Kim
I ate peanut butter cookie sandwiches filled w foie gras mousse filling. Yes I need a corner. I need two clenses.
nina
Now that spring is close… it sounds like a good idea to reanimate my body and brain :)
Laura L
So it really works? I always thought it was a myth!
AmyEDA
My 3 kids have been sick for the last month. Of course I finally fell to it last week and have been very sick. This has required me to alternate Motrin and Tylenol every 4 hours for the last 4 days as well as having to take a 10 day course of antibiotics that make me nauseous 24/7. At the end of this, I could REALLY use a detox! My liver has to be screaming from the inside out! Pick me:) Then I’ll make some of your yummy recipes once I feel like food again:) Love your site Joy and you have the best photos!!
Jane George
Hi Joy, congratulations on making it through the cleanse. Always wanted to try one the juice cleanses, not so much on the colonic!
alice
Way to go, finishing the book and the cleanse!
m
this seems interesting – if it’s only for a day, couldn’t hurt, right?
taylor
sign me up! i’m ready to give it a try. it sounds totally invigorating!
Jessica Stowe
This sounds really cool. id love to try.
Thanks.
corinne
Hah, I’m sure that old lady had some excessively expensive treatment to offer for each ailment she could make up for you, too!
Bodine
OH boy!, I once bought a whole package of colonics(10) when it was getting popular in the 90’s, and was told as well that so much toxins and crap,no pun intended was in my body and it would make me sick…..I was 24!anyway after a series of 10 colonics in 6 weeks, I became very thin, and very ill! Horible11 I have no idea how I managed to go 10x, !!!!Crazy kids!:)))love your post:)
Patty
I’ve always been curious w/ the Blue Print Cleanse. Did you ever feel like you need to go during inconvenient times? I think you’re great for doing it. THanks for sharing your experience.
Kathleen
I would love to start reducing my waistline!
Molly
Joy you are too precious!!! You were the last blogger I’d expect to try a cleanse but thank you for your honest opinion – it seems way less terrible that I thought and good for you you must feel FABULOUS.
Teresa
Sounds super interesting! I’d love to try it!
Colleen
Wow! I’ve always been so scared to try a cleanse but if you can do it so can I!!
Jessica VZ
I would love to try this! I’m all for trying new things and this definitely sounds good to me.
Daniele C
I don’t even want to THINK about what that colonic lady would have said to me! After almost 2 years of bootcamp-like nursing school, my body doesn’t even know which end is which! And I haven’t even driven past the gym since September! If I want someone to stick something up that particular one-way street, I’ll wait until I’m due for a colonoscopy, thank you! At least then, I’ll get screened for cancer as a result!
Amy
I admit it….
1) I am fascinated by juice cleanses
2) I’ve never had the cojones to pull one off
3) both 1&2 are related to my full on sugar junkie status.
Maybe I’ll give it a go (sans creepy colonic lady)
Shoshanna
Hmmm intrigued, I thought they were silly but sounds like a cleanse at least can make you a little zen. Although the colonic…no way, that was just confirmed, ha.
Grace
As I was squeezing myself into my pants this morning, I thought about how I need to cleanse my body of these cravings….glad to know I’m not the only one!!
Sue
I’ve always wanted to try the cleanse but I lack the hutzpah. Now might be the time . . .
jyoung33
cleanse away!
Michelle
I love your blog. Your recipes always look amazing and I made your chocolate chip buttermilk pancakes last weekend (soooo good). This was an interesting post though; I hadn’t heard of the Blue Print Cleanse before. Enjoy your real food!
Katie
I’d always thought that cleanse things were a little too new age-y hippy dippy to me, but your experience lends me some confidence. Maybe I’ll have to try it!
Caitlin
I have been on a going out to eat binge and my pants are a little too tight. I wish sweatpants were acceptable in every public setting…perhaps this cleanse would help with the tight pants and extreme over eating of late.
la-la-lisa
Oh hellz to the no girl. I remember reading an article in LA Weekly about colonics and how uneccesary they are. I think the stock phrases they mentioned were things like, “I see you need to chew your food more” and “we’re getting rid of toxins.” I mean, WTF are these toxins these people talk about anyway? Are you eating Comet?? (OMG did you see that “My Strange Addiction” show where the lady eats Comet every day??) And I love how they call it hydrotherapy – makes it sound so relaxing. Not.
Becky
Wow, what an experience. Sounds like I may need to try, well except for the colonic :)
Melissa Grubbs
Hey Joy….lol well I will say that is the most interesting blog I have read….funny the things some people will try to convince you of huh? Well if chosen to win I will give a whirl….lol….so here is my post…I also wanted to let you know..I do cake decorating on the side wedding, bday, baby shower etc…I have found you to be my new recipe guru, I am always looking for new stuff to try and I must thank you for your recipes….and of course I give credit to you on the ones I borrow…Keep them coming and again thank you!!~Melissa
Sarah
The thought of a cleanse always appeals to me- but than I tried one once and i had a migraine within 12 hours of doing it. Like a huge I have to lay down type migraine. And I decided that my body does in fact need legit food. Perhaps not as much sugar as my brain likes, but def. food. Glad you had positive results- but not for me.
lonnapea
i’ve read about this before and was excited to see your review!
carrie
hey joy, i am new to your site and just LOVE it. i made the capp cookies the other day and gave to friends at a birthday party as the party favor and everyone is still talking about them. i wrapped them in cool cellophane bags and tied them with rafia and pink ribbon and they looked and tasted amazzzzzing.
i have always wanted to do this cleanse but its sooooo expensive! i would love to win the prize and most importantly the guide so i can juice on my own!! good luck to me!
molly
I think she was reading your recipes on her ipad. That colonic sounds horrifying. I would like to drink the juices though. Pick me!
Jessie Heninger
I love food and I LOVE sweets. Something to help “un-addict” my body get over those cravings sounds worth a try to me.
Monica
Joy,
What a great way to welcome spring! I’ve been a vegetarian for about 6 years now but even this winter I feel I haven’t eaten as healthy as I should. I’ve been thinking about a juice cleanse lately. I’d love to be your winner!
Shannon
oh, this cleanse would be a totally great way for me to prepare for finally going back to work full-time after spending 16 years being the stay at home mommy :)
Katie
My body will love me more if I win this cleanse!
Lauren
I have to admit I’ve been skeptical about cleanses in the past, but I trust your review of the Blue Print Cleanse, and am now rather intrigued! Pretty sure I won’t be getting a colonic, though. Like ever.
Kim Moir
Dear Joy
I love your baking, I really do. You’re an inspiration and I’ve made a ton of your recipes. However, I’m disappointed to see you advocating cleanses. There isn’t any scientific evidence to support that they help you lose anything in the long term other than money in your wallet.
Your colon doesn’t need to be cleansed either, and colonics can be dangerous, resulting in perforations.
https://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/?p=88
Eat a balanced diet and exercise and your body will take care of itself :-)
sincerely,
Kim
Beth
I have never heard of this juice but I would love to try it! It sounds like it works wonders. Do you plan on using it again? When is your cookbook expected to come out? I can’t wait!
ella
okay, i have to admit, i’m a little curious about this whole cleanse thing. i keep hearing they’re bad news bears, but still — curious!
mimi brown
I think a cleanse would do me good! I think it’s amazing that you did this cleanse and a spin class! You’re my hero :)
Rita
I wonder if I could actually go that long without real solid food in my face….worth a shot I guess, especially if it will help my jeans fit better.
coffeeaddict
Major problems in your body?! WTF?! Me thinks the fumes from colonic muddled her brain.
Would love to participate in the giveaway but I’m from EU so no go (sob…)
Ashleigh
I could definitely use a cleanse at this time of year!
Rachel
Well- my sister is on her 3rd-yes 3rd!! clense and I have been almost inspired by her every time. But now a free one- that is inspiration enough. Bring it on – OH! and did I mention-I am going to the Bahamas on a free work trip soon? Seriously- I would LOVE fo give it a shot!!
Rachel
oops- Very tired at 5am. It’s cleanse (not clense) and to give it a shot (not fo give it a shot). My bad!
Court
I want to try it!
Robin
Very curious!
Lauren at Keep It Sweet
I really am usually against cleanses, but I must say, I am curious!
Lexi
I wanna see how it goes
tasty
I could use a cleanse. I’m vegetarian with vegan tendencies and eat pretty healthy, but I have a MAJOR sweet tooth. I would eat boston creme donuts and chocolate almonds for breakfast everyday if I could (um, sometimes I do). Yours is probably bigger than mine, so if you can do 3 days, I can do 1.
ilana
i would love to try it….
Happy When Not Hungry
I’ve never done the Blue Print cleanse before but would definitely love to try! Thanks for sharing Joy!
Jillian
I’ve always thought that cleanses sounded crazy, but you make it sound like something I could do, and for the right reasons!
Jasmine
it look so nicely baked! (: (: looking forward to your cookbook (:
Jennifer Jo
You actually managed to make a cleanse sound appealing!
Erin
Hi Joy! After record snow accumulation for months and many batches of your cookies, I could use an inside-out cleansing…uh, maybe without the vacuum :) Thanks for everything – can’t wait for the cookbook!
Maria
Mental clarity? Yes, please!!!
Heather ziegler
I would lobe to try this. I have a bit of a sugar problem would be curious if this would help. Thanks loved the post
Alice
I think the fact that i ate a handful of mini-chocolate bars for breakfast may indicated that a cleanse would be a glorious thing for me right now!
annabel
I don’t know how you managed to make that mushroom soup without eating a big creamy, steaming bowl of it! I am dutifully impressed by your tenacity!
Emma
Oh, exciting. I wanna try!
Nancy
I just completed the Cooler Cleanse 3 day and did a 5 day with them as well. I love the break from food. Would love to win this!!! Thanks for the chance.
Jen
I could sure use a cleanse!
Hils
I know you probably don’t deliver to the UK, but I’m so impressed with your perseverance (and good lord, a colonic. A Colonic!) that I’m commenting anyway! I really need to do something about my sugar cravings too. Making your chocolate chip cookies today is probably not that thing. But, tomorrow, tomorrow…
Rachel Bird
I can’t decide whether the bit about the colonic has made me more or less curious about them. The 80-year old on solitaire… eeesh.
Liya
BRILLIANT!
i need this instantly.
Claire
Would this mean that I would have to remove the jar of Hershey Kisses from my desk? :) Actually, I’ve been meaning to do that for awhile because as the jar goes down, my chair gets smaller. Been looking for SOMETHING to reduce my sugar cravings (probably removing the jar would be a good start) but I loved hearing that Blue Print Cleanse realigned your eating. This is something I would love to try!
Seanna Lea
If a cleanse can help stop the sugar addiction, then I completely need to try it! I’ve been on a super sugar kick since I ended a super restrictive diet last April (I’ve only had one or two periods where I felt like I was under control at all)!
Danielle
I hope I win!!!! I need a cleanse
Trish
I’ve heard that colonic’s are good. I, like you experienced, could never figure out how they could be awesome. Sounds like my mother telling my going thru labor felt like cramps! What a big f-ing liar she is. Glad to hear your version.
Katrina
I need a serious detox. Pick me!
Silvia
Now I’m really frightened… why a cleanse when one can just enjoy a couple of weeks of stomach problems and of not being able to eat anything at all? I’m starting only now to feel better and to bake again, how I missed it! And à propos baking: your book, this is just great! Yesterday a sent a link to your blog to my sister, who is a wedding planner, and who wanted to know how to bake a wedding cake, so your book is sorely needed…
Nicole
I was just asked to be the maid of honor at a wedding that’s happening in 4 months. I’m still holiday pudgy, my skin is looking meh, I feel totally sluggish. Yeah, I think I might need a cleanse…
Deanna
I’ve always been curious about a body cleanse. The one day program sounds perfect for me – without the colonic of course!
Dana
The Blueprint Cleanse is supposed to be great- would love to try it!
Melissa M
I am in a major need for a cleanse. Too much junk food in the last few weeks >_<
elle linn
Sounds like exactly what I need!
Wiosanna
Wow. I’m so proud of you :)
Anna
So, let me start of my saying that I’m proud of you-is that weird that I’ve never met you and I’m proud of you? Whatever. You make so many yummy things in your kitchen, and you have immense self-control. Juice cleanses are awesome, and I would love to do one! I’m still feeling the effects of winter snacks all over my body-not cool. I’m glad this system worked for you! It’s amazing how what we put into our body affects our mental state. Glad to hear you god your brain unclogged and got some face time with God in prayer. Kinda great, eh? :)
Now I’m going to sit and wait by the front door for the delivery man to deliver these juices.
Thanks. :)
April
Joy–
Love your blog…I’ve been on the road for the past 7 weeks…I need to cleanse in a big bad way.
Andrea M
No way! I have stumbled upon the Blue Print website twice in the past few weeks and have been so so interested. It is neat to hear someone who tried the cleanse firsthand. I’m dying to try it!! :) …pluse very cool about the mental clarity and lack of ‘neeeeeeeding’ sugar ->I do that also.
Grace & Peace, Andrea M
Gen
Well, what’s great about this is that you just listen to your body and what it needs. You don’t own a scale? I thought you were unique, now I’m convinced about it! That’s how we should all behave, take the better part of life and its good things!
Debbie Forbes
Pick me! My sugar cravings are CRAZY right now.
Adeline
Yes please to the book! I don’t like diets and cleanses, but despite trying to eat well this winter my teeth hurt and my skin looks awful. Probably because I ate well but still had chips and fries and cake because, you know, that’s a lot more fun than not!
Allison Day
I’ve never done a cleanse before, but this sounds like something that would be very good for me right now. I’m intrigued!
Joy in Amsterdam
After you tweeted about it I looked into it. I always wanted to do a cleanse and had the chance when I worked for a Chiropractor to get it on a bit of a discount but my similar love for Cheetos and Hoummous took over and I missed my opportunity.
So neat to hear about your mental clarity and extra God-time. :)
Hope I win!
nileta
i do two days of detoxing a week. but not with juices. once i do it with low fat yogurt and fruit and once with fruit and vegetables. it really helps my cravings as well…. but (horror of horrors) i am staying away from sugar for a month now, since i decided i cannot stop myself from eating delicious cakes… and now i have to go through the torture of baking things and watching other people eat them! ouch!
good job though! really funny detox story!
Stef
I feel like I need to wear a helmet if I get to try out this cleanse business… but you sure did make it sound nifty!
Emily
This program sounds like an awesome, health approach to doing a cleanse. Nice work, Joy!
Niksoap
Ugh. Time to reset!
Cara
Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, being home at my parents, visiting my grandmother, Valentine’s and my birthday, my body could certainly use a cleanse after all the eating I have done the past few months!
Lisa Williford
Now THAT sounds like a cleanse I can get behind (so to speak)!
Or at least hopefully get to help reduce my behind after Mardi Gras is over here in New Orleans . . . ain’t NO way I’m doing a cleanse during Mardi Gras, baby.
;^D
grete
Sounds like my kind of cleanse! I’d love to find a cleanse that gives me energy and clarity. Great post, thank you!
LimeCake
I do a one day detox diet from time to time, when I’ve overeaten ridiculously for days on end. Christmas comes to mind.
Ledina
3 day cleanse and still exercising!!! Spinning none the less. That is brilliant!
megan
wowow! i’m inspired! :)
Jenny
When does the cookbook come out? I’m excited for it! I didn’t know you were working on a cookbook.
Jenny
I’ve never tried a cleanse before but I would totally do it if I could get so much energy from it. Maybe I could start with one day of liquids.
Joanna
I would love to try this!
Congratulations for getting through it. I have to say, that salad looks AMAZING. You see, there lies my problem. Foodie. Think this would do me good.
x
Diana
I have always wanted to do one! :)
c
count me in! i don’t think i would have even considered this before, but i’m intrigued after your post..
Sophy
Thanks for the post. Like you said the juices helped you reset your choices. I want to try it too!
AnnaLyon
Interesting… I’d be curious to try!
Allison
Yes. Yes. Yes. Please. And congratulations for not cheating!
Nico
This looks great, and tasty! I love juice. Also I think you’re awesome. :)
Andrea Lodevico
Cleanse away!!!!
amanda
congrats! makes me want to do a cleanse too… i need a juicer :(
Connie
Ooo, I think I could really use a cleanse. I’ve been traveling around lots for graduate school interviews and have been eating a whole mess of random foods. Your post makes me think I might be able to handle a cleanse and actually enjoy it … although I don’t know if I’d go for the colonic, you’re intense :)!
Charlie K
i too want my pants to fit dreamily!
Chihiro
Cleanses are so big in Japan (the country of agar-agar diet), but I want to try!
Not because I’ve written a cookbook (can’t wait for yours!) but because I’ve recently been eating (only) a bag of “Smart Cheddar Puffs” (or w/e) from the vending machine for lunch. I need to not crave cheese puffs.
marylou
now this sounds like a cleanse worth doing!
Catherine
Thanks for the detailed description of your 3 day juice fest :) I too would like to feel healthier and shrink my sweet tooth. The zen-like morning on day 2 wouldn’t hurt either …
Melissa
I have always wanted to do one! :)
Sandra
Very cool you tried it & liked it.
Melody
I’ve always wanted to try a juice cleanse but have never been able to afford it (being on a student budget and all…) this would be a really cool way to see what it’s all about!
Shannon R
I don’t really trust myself to do a cleanse on my own, with just the book and my own willpower. But I think a day or two of trying the real deal will help me a lot, and I really like the idea of calming down sugar cravings…
Izzie
I don’t know if I could ever go for three days without solid food! But I;m willing to try :)
Holly
I’ve been meaning to do a BPC for awhile, but it’s quite pricey. I’ve tried their individual green juice and loved it. I would love to try a full day cleanse though!
annie
Hard to believe I’m writing this after all the chocolate I ate this week, but… I’m game! A few days of juice and healthiness sounds pretty cool. :)
Abigail @ Good to Think and Eat
Damn girl you are brave. And inspiring!
Ethan
I tried a cleanse when I lived in Vancouver. It was soup-based and I felt none of this energy you felt! Then again, I don’t think I did it correctly. I’m glad yours was a success and I hope you eat fries for breakfast with jam, lunch with ketchup and dinner with wine this week!
Corey Michael
I could go for a cleanse!
