Gosh, learning a new skill is about so much more than the skill itself. It’s about showing up for yourself, being gentle with your fears, cheering yourself through vulnerability, and trying it all again the next day. Also it’s terribly embarrassing until you change your mind about shame.⁣
⁣
I’m learning how to swim. Like really swim. My first day, I literally fled the pool in self-imposed embarrassment but I went back today and, with the help of a kick board, did some (dare I say) swimming. ⁣
⁣
All of this to say, I’m out here on this HARD TRY. You too? Also, can you use a kick board in a triathlon? Asking for very myself.
