Let It Be Sunday, 197!

Hello sweet friends. I’m glad it’s Sunday. I’m glad you’re here.  Today I’m teaching a Sweet Potato Pie workshop at The Bakehouse.  It’s my favorite time of my year and my favorite kind of pie so it’s going to be a pretty sweet day.  I hope it feels that way for you too.

This weekend I’ve also learned the wonders of the Falafel Waffle, a recipe in the book Food Wine.  Andrea and Dana stopped by The Bakehouse yesterday to make brunch for a bunch of us.  Overall – it’s a full weekend of gathering and connection.

Gathering and connection are the spirit of this time of year.  Let’s remember. Let’s be intentional.  Let’s make the time and take the time.

The offering this week is here for you. I hope you find something that you can connect with.

  1. Hi Joy! I had to lead a 10 minute discussion at a work meeting today and I chose the Nano Influence article, which I saw posted on your page. Your “shares” are alway interesting and very diverse. Thank you for what you do, and for sharing this one! –Michelle

  2. Is there a specific reason that your Let It Be Sunday is only showing up a week after it’s published?
The dates on the replies are from last weekend, not today. My calendar says today is 11-25-18. The replies on this post are from 11-18 & 11-19.
Am I blocked from seeing this for a week? I surely hope not, thanks Laurie

  3. Speaking of waffles and thanksgiving leftovers: last year my man made thanksgiving stuffing waffles topped with a little maple syrup. Haven’t stopped thinking about them since.

  4. Just wondering if your Bakehouse is in your home, and I believe you said you have cats. I am allergic but traveling to New Orleans in the Spring was looking forward to taking a class but needed to know if I can go. Can you let me know and thanks.

  5. The link to the story of the 93 year old woman saved by the garbage truck driver made me cry, but happy tears. Can’t forget there are a lot of good people doing amazing things everyday. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Iโ€™m a long time follower and have really come to appreciate your Sunday morning mix of joyful food and thoughtfully curated pieces. While I very much appreciate the well-researched Vox article about period tracking apps, I wanted to share that in all of its useful critique it misses that not all women menstrate, and that many people who donโ€™t identify as women do; that this assumption about our genders and our bodies is as dangerous as the many sexist motivations and uses for current apps that it calls out; and that this isnโ€™t just a concern for โ€˜ladies,โ€™ but for all people who may find these apps useful.
