The Last Long Weekend

Last Long Weekend

Ok maybe I’m being a tad bit dramatic. It’s not the laaaaast long weekend.  It’s just the last good long weekend, especially according to our Mom-cut jean shorts, according to our flower crowns, and according to our glasses of Summer Water.  They’re all feeling the pressure of time.  It’s their last long weekend.

If Drake taught us anything… and really, what hasn’t he taught us (ok, a lot)… It’s Summer 16.  We’re playin’ dirty not clean.

EATIN’:  Chili Cheese Dogs and Beer Battered Onion Rings

DRINKIN’: Summer Water and Watermelon Strawberry Sangria

READIN’: You’ll Grow Out of It by Jessi Klein

LISTENIN’: The new album from Joseph. Here’s a song to put on blast: SOS

DAYDREAMIN’: Sweater Dresses and my favorite dress flat.

Let’s smash that Summer Bucket List!  Have a great weekend, y’all!

  1. Joseph! I just this morning discovered them and fell madly in aural love – how funny to see this on your site! Three cheers!

  2. Technically we still have 2-3 more months of heat here in socal…but I’m planning to head to Shakespeare in the Park at Griffith (they’re doing The Tempest!), do some reading at my favorite coffee shop (Romancing the Bean!), make my weekly batch of Moroccan mint sun tea, and clean out my closet!

  3. Hi, this is the first time for me to comment on your blog, and I also feel sad for summer 2016 to go and never come back again…
It looks like you have given it a very decent farewell, as it very well deserved so!

  4. Beer-battered onion rings? You’re killing me. The French (thanks to the Belgians) have good fries, but they do not know the wonder of onion rings. And now that you’ve brought them up, I will be dreaming about them (tell me I’m not the only person who dreams about food) until I get some. And the only way to get some is to make some. Thanks for the recipe!

  5. I always feel like it’s the LAST one too! Then you feel like you are supposed to be doing something responsible or something. :). And then I do miss my favorite, yummy, only-in-the-summer-seafood-shack onion rings. Put the book on my To Read list!
