Watch Out November!

No-Bake Peanut Butter Tart

I’m terrible with surprises.  All that dang waiting… it just seems so silly.

I have a surprise for all y’all.

This November… just some days from this day today… there’s going to be a giveaway everyday of the month here at J the B.

Everyday!  Something lovely for you to win!

Tell your friends.  Call your Mom.  Write your Congressman.  I’m going to wait in line at the post office.  It’s going to be fun.

I just thought I’d let you know… in case you were thinking of blog breaking up with me between now and next month.

  5. Are you kidding? Break up with you? Where would I get all my favorite recipes? I don’t care if you never give anything away, I ain’t leavin’…that chocolate chocolate chip banana bread is legend around here and those peanut butter sandwich cookies have elevated me up to goddess! 8. The last & perhaps only time I commented on your blog was when you were seeking ideas on buying a couch (what did you end up deciding?)
This time I am writing to rave … you’ve got a super track record with me. I have found some TOTALLY perfect recipes that I and my people absolutely LOVE: Your Chocolate-PB Ice cream, that fabulously moist All-Purpose Holiday Bundt Cake & in the last week that (Vegan) Pumpkin Walnut Bread. As a picky eater, I can’t get enough of any of these! Thanks so much.
Keep up the great work with your inspiring & personal recipes & stories.

  13. Yeah! Get ready for your comments to explode exponentially! I hadn’t checked out Bakerella in awhile, and there you were too. Two of my fave foodie bloggers in the same place. Wish I had been there too for the fun. Now, I have to figure out a time to make those onion rings. My husband will send you a Thank you email when I do. (cute kitten!)

How is it almost novemeber already? This year has gone waaaay too fast!

  16. Hey, I love surprises! I can’t believe that you don’t like them. Maybe you haven’t had a good surprise yet.
I hope someone close to you reads your blog and gets inspired to give you a HUGE surprise, and you end up loving it. Then for the rest of your life you will surely love surprises, just as much as I do.

  17. Hmm. Now I feel a little dirty, like I’m a blog gold-digger. You know we can make this relationship beneficial for *both* of us, right? ;)

  18. Please girl…you forgetting who stuck up for you with the Obama cookies?? LMAO…my muse, you just TRY getting rid of me!!!

I could not go on with my week without Buttermilk Pie, or Brownbutter blueberry mufffins!

    Daily prizes?! Fantastic!

  22. OH JOY! ( litterally) Joy I love your blog and your sparkling personality. The post office comment made my day. Thank you thank you!

  23. Another month?!!! Was ready to be done with you. Oh well guess another 30 days with all the good recipes and ‘chatter’ with giveaways thrown in will be ok. Thanks!

  24. Wouldn’t dream of breaking up with you; look at all I would miss out on. Good food, good reads and a lot of laughter. I will be right here trying to win something and enjoying cookies or bread with you and all the other readers that hang on. Thank you and have a fantastic Holiday Season.

  25. Really??!! That’s awesome…especially because november is my birth month… And I would love to win something!!! Love your blog!!

  26. We only just met and I think you’re swell and your recipes ROCK and now you might give me a prize?! I ain’t leavin’.

  27. I don’t know what I enjoy more about following your blog, the hilarious commentary or the super recipes. Either way…I am all excited for November now.

  28. I love a giveaway! I have come to terms with the fact that I am genetically destined to never win any contest I enter. But I figure this means when I enter someone else who rarely wins will have better odds, so bring it on, Joy!

  29. Break up with you? And have no drool-worthy photos to start my day?

I’m making a haunted gingerbread house with my kids- mixing the dough today, baking the house pieces tomorrow and building the house who-knows-when-we’ll-have-time. You inspire me to bake more often and my family loves it. They wouldn’t want me to break up with you either!

  30. ohhh, how exciting! I have been a reader for a while but normally just lurk in the shadows. A month of contests has brought me out haha. Are you shipping to Canada though? Otherwise I will just go back to fading into the shadows ;)

  31. Keeping the other part interested and it toes. You sure know how to keep a bloglationship on the right track. Looking forward to seeing your november surprises :)

  32. Oh wow…..I LOVE LOVE LOVE surprises….especially when someone tells me ahead of time what it is!! You are the BEST!

  33. Thanks for doing YOUR part to make November sooooooooooo tastefully special. You need to know that my name is rarely.. and I am not whining about it.. but it is true.. RARELY has ever gotten drawn. Ahh for a new try!!
Love your enthusiasm for all things food!
    Amy

  34. Very exciting giveaway news. Can’t wait! And who would want to blog break up …you’d lose access to all of the phenomenal food.

  35. No blog breaking up here…I love your postings.
Thanks in advance for the surprises oh, and more kitty pics please!

  36. I’ve been with you more than a year. I could never blog-break you… Looking forward to more adventures and maybe a prize :-)

  37. Yay! What FUN! (Not the post office part) I knew there was a reason I am up so late (early?) Ok.. Stumbling off to bed before I get slap happy, Oooh! THAT is giving me ideas… but that would just be cruel as hubby is sleeping like a baby :D
    *love*

  38. Great news, I so love this kind of surprises! But please, how could you think I could stop reading your blog… it’s the first thing I read every morning, aways so funny and joyful, besides I am so looking forward to your new Xmas recipes.

  39. If you dont ship to the UK…we’ll have to blog break up.

    I kid, I kid!
Cant wait to see what kinda things you’re giving away! :)

  40. Oooh, I like the thought of giveaways and fun surprises…even if I wholeheartedly believe that you can’t blog break up with somebody who inspires you to make lots of pancakes and embrace all forms of sugary decadence.

  41. You are soo sweet! And how did you know that November is my birthday month? Albeit… a bigger birthday… (aren’t they all?) I guess we don’t go backwards do we? You’ve got me excited…. oh, and I shared your pumpkin pop tart with my daughter…. she loves pumpkin pie! Matter of fact her DH doesn’t like pumpkin pie…. so we make her one all for her lonesome each year! LoL…
November…. presents…. the whole month! What’s not to like! My SIL’s (two of them) birthdays are the 10th and the 16th!
Keep up the good work girl. I really enjoy reading your blog…. ‘cept you make me soooo hungry each time I read! Oh, and your video’s are really great! You two do a great job!

  42. YIPPEE! If you have a professional pastry bag, put my name on it, would ya? lol I need a new one:) But, seriously, the one I’ve been using is tearing right where the edge of the tips lies inside the bag. And, I have looked and looked and looked for a large replacement bag, and cannot find one. This is a rather large one (I hate the little ones:)) and would like to find one that is similar.

Any suggestions where to shop, Joy? The one I have now seems to be a combination of cloth on the exterior and plastic-y on the inside, but anything professional grade, even if it is a bit different, would make me happy. HELP!!!!

    1. Patty,
You can get one just like that (cloth on outside, plastic inside) in sizes 12-48 inches at Cash and Cary or Restaurant Depot. I don’t know what state you live in but you can look up the store locations online to see if you have one near you.
      I hope this helps.
