Hello dear friend!
This week’s Sunday post comes to you from Mexico City where I’ve consumed my weight in tacos, tequila, city beauty, and wedding love. I’m here for Ellen (our favorite apron lady) and Casey’s wedding and WOW, naturally it’s epic.
This week has been a jumble of deadlines and travel prep and consciously putting aside BUT WHAT DO I WEAR anxieties because IT DOESN’T MATTER is the actual answer almost always.
I hope this week finds you feeling strong and happy and if not… I hope this Sunday is your moment to recharge and locate those feelings.
Here is the offering this week:
• Major American Problem: Perpetrators of hate crimes see themselves as saviors. (MSN) I’m also reading this in hopes of understanding what’s going on with us now: The Neuroscience of Hate Speech. (New York Times)
• Perspective, also don’t play and VOTE! 12 Young People on Why They Probably Won’t Vote. (NYMAg)
• For Ntozake Shange, Who Conjured the Rainbow: through bravery and pain, she wrote with fierce love for young black women. (The Nation)
• Please read: “Sorry” a poem by Ntozake Shange. (Girl Power Academy)
• Would you? I took “Adulting” Classes For Millennials. (CityLab)
• “Los Angeles doesn’t even know you’re there” so why not try it’s weirdest trends to try and cope? My Life Cleanse: One Month Inside LA’s Cult of Betterness. (GQ)
• Relevant content and deeply necessary laughs: DIY Fall Centerpieces To Own The Patriarchy. (McSweeneys)
• An Aging Marathoner Tries To Run Faster After 40. (Wired)
• See also: people trying to keep up with a world record marathon pace (they fail… we all would). (Digg)
• Why Do Guys Wear Beanies on the Top of Their Heads Now? The answer is probably Instagram. (GQ)
• Welcome to the Petty Hall of Fame. I’m here for it. (Topic)
• DO GOOD news: Buy the doughnuts and save the whale. (OC register and SF Gate)
• Vanderpump Rules is coming back and it’s not that we want it, it’s that we need it. (You Tube)
Enjoy the day! I’m so glad you’re here.
Love to you.

I live in Mexico City and Xochimilco is one of mi faves places to get a fun day!
Those poems are everything
I’ve been to Xocimilco! It was one of my favorite parts of my summer trip to Mexico City! And you might be interested in a new book called This is Mexico City by Abby Clawson Low. Her photos are amazing!
My eyes have been threatening to burst with tears over how many people are showing up to the polls. Even in the rain. I am hopeful.
It so happens that telling people to drink more water is my nagging adult thing. Tuh!
