Have you taken a look at the Meet Joy section of the site?
You can, it’s been spiffed up… but don’t feel obligated. ย It’s just more about me and why I’m so ridiculous…. and why I have such a sweet tooth… and what my favorite color is. ย Just the basics.
I happen to love getting all up in peoples’ business and when a site’s about page is skimpy, my nosey brain can’t get workin.
If you’re a nosey brain like me… feel free to also stalk me on Twitter and the Facebook. ย Indulge the nosey brain. ย Just do it.

I’ve just discovered your blog, it is brilliant! Looking forward to your book, when does it come out? You must include the cinammon pull apart bread and matcha marble cake……….
Love, love this site. Keep up the good work your parents named you well!!!!!
I have a question. How do you make some of your pictures grouped in grids? Some of them are even, some of them are different. I love how you do that.
I love your website and enjoyed reading your FAQ’s. You definitely inspire me to bake more. Thanks for sharing your recipes.
youre totally skinny. i hate you.
Joy! I’ve just been introduced to you by Jodi of mmmmm….that’s good. You are amazing. I’m not the greatest baker, but sister, I am trying your stuff.
And I would kill to have that dress you’re wearing in the photo for a wedding I have to go to. Did you get it anywhere in the state of California? If so, please do tell.
Can’t wait for all the future recipes and to peruse all the ones you’ve done already. And thanks for sharing your camera tips. I’m a natural light girl, too, but I still need to step up to a better camera than my SLR.
this dress is from Anthropologie. it’s a size six… you can borrow if it you want.
ah…if ONLY that were my size!
After years of reading, here is my first comment.
You’re great. Among other things, I love your food, your outlook, and your tattoos.
You are my celebrity crush, habibti!

Doubtless this has been asked before, but WHERE do you buy your clothes? I love your style!

Love your site, and the photography is just beautiful. Could you share what type of camera you use?
Just wanted to drop a note to say I love the new design and your recipe for cream cheese cinnamon rolls!
I love your Meet Joy page! PS Love that pretty necklace!
Joy,
I have been coming to your blog for a few months now and love it.
I love the pictures you take, the recipes you make and your humourous writing.
Even when I don’t feel like cooking or baking, I enjoy coming here JUST to read what you have to say because I know it’ll give me a laugh and will ALWAYS brighten my day.
So thanks. Thanks for being such a great baker. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos with us. And thanks for being so damn witty, honest and fun. I love it.

PS – love the new ‘About Joy’ section, MUCH more informative and satisfies all my nosy cravings ;)
I like the updated Meet Joy…I can’t WAIT until your cookbook comes out!
Love your dress! And love your About Me. You’ve inspired me to be more open.
That dress and necklace make you look like a sassy porcelain doll!
Also, I can’t wait for your cookbook!
Reading the updated ‘Meet Joy’ section of your website has really inspired me and has caused a few questions to surface in this crazy head of mine. I’ve been visiting your sight for about a year now and love your recipes, photographs, and writing style. I can’t help thinking that I’m in a similar place to where you’ve been before and could use a spot of advice. I’m 22 years old, originally from Iowa, and graduated a year ago with a bachelor’s degree in Biology…I’m currently living in England with my English husband and taking a hiatus from my chosen career path. I’ve discovered over the past year or so that I have a natural affinity for baking and love to be in the kitchen preparing things that taste delicious and make the people around me happy. Similar to you getting a degree in English then veering in a completely different direction to become a baker, I don’t know where to go from here. I can spend hours in the kitchen and it only seems like minutes. I feel as if I want to pursue a career in baking instead of biology, but I have no idea how to go about it. I don’t really have any experience or qualifications, other than my own love of baking and self-taught/family-taught skills. How do I get employers to see my passion for baking? Should I take baking classes? I’m stuck. Any advice from a seasoned baker such as yourself would be extremely appreciated. Signed… Half-Baked in Biology.
i think you should do what makes you happy… and that might mean taking baking classes. why not go for it!
Hey Sarah,
It’s seems kind of bizarre but I’m a biologist who loves baking too!! I love birds and bugs and plants but I really love baking and it’s definitely my passion and something I would love to ‘work at’ some day. Thanks for the advice, Joy—I’ve often wondered about making the leap but I’m not really sure where to start either.
Where did you get that dress?? It’s lovely!
Your dress is really pretty. As is your kitten. And your onion rings. ;)
You are so pretty Joy! It was great getting to know you better. Your blog was one of the first I started watching and I still love it.
I also love Stevens!
You are inspiring and totally awesome. Also, you look hot in that dress but not in an I’m-trying-to-be-hot kind of way. More in an “oh, this old thing? I just threw it on” kind of way. Effortless. Perfect. Can’t wait for your book!
You look so pretty in that photo, Joy!
You are a total babe.
That is all.
Dear Joy,
You are so pretty! And very funny. I’m envious of your cat. But most of all, you are a kitchen inspiration! Every recipe I have ever made from your site (and tis quite a few) has turned out D-E-licious.
Thanks!

it was on sale. score.
oh, yes, anthro sales rock my world! weirdly, i find the discounts are even better in london (and i just don’t do the exchange rate calculation!), although the SF shop will always be my nostalgic fave.
I already knew the section but I love it because you’re so true and honest with us! I’m very impatient to learn more about your book! Thank you for your good mood, your good food and for illuminating our days with your blog articles!

Very informative for the curious mind, indeed! You look so lovely in that dress. I’m rather jealous of your small waist. (Wait, was that stalker-ish? Didn’t mean it to be.) Thank you for sharing all your awesome ideas and hearty congratulations on the book!
I love that dress!
And I can’t wait to buy your cookbook – so exciting!
Don’t worry, I have already stalked the crap out of you. You are such a free spirit and an inspiration! Cute dress by the way. ;)

Congratulations on the cookbook! I look forward to reading it in 2012!
Gosh you are adorable! Was that a ‘lil creepy…..sorry.

Hi Joy,
This is my second visit here and I already fell in love with your ways…. of life…of bloging… Can’t stop reading and watching those photos… Me and my polish culinary blogging friends run weekend’s bakery and I’ll be hosting one soon so that means that I have to offer a great (not so difficult) recipe for a bread. I was wondering if you could recommend one of your recipes for a bread or bake rolls – I’m sure it will be a great fun to do bake it… :)
Have a lovely day, Joy!
D&J
Such a pretty picture of you!
hi joy,
your blog rules-but how is it that your moms is now a purple-hot-dog-casserole-makin’ woman instead of the cake-decoratin’ lady she was in your earlier “meet joy”?
Gosh, your kitten is cute.
I always love learning more about you!
I love a good “about me” section – one of the first places I look whenever I discover a new blog. Having said that I should update my own!
Thanks for entertaining our nosey curious nature. You look fab in that dress, very Mad Men-ish old school glam (with tattoos!) ;-)
And in case you ever get tired of your cat (I know, I know never gonna happen) I’m willing to adopt him that very instant.
I agree the dress is so pretty.
I read the previous version of Meet Joy. I like it is something what is changing.
And I have something to tell you. Under some post I posted a comment that I would love to move to other country and guess what? I’m going to Ireland at the end of February.
So I think your blog have some dream come true power.
Good luck with your book
I love your dress! And the necklace. You are elegant and fancy.
I just need to say how much I like your dress! Pretty! And the random facts about you at the end cracked me up, and since its now a little past midnight and I have literally been studying for three days straight and the big test is tomorrow…. I needed a little bit of laughter before bedtime! Thanks for always brightening my day (or night… or whatever it is anymore!) with your fantastic baking and blogging skillz.
I love a good about section, thanks for the infos! It’s always so hard to describe yourself, especially to an audience that could be anyone.
