  1. Hi there! I recently browsed this site and found a recipe for carrot cake pancakes. I bookmarked it and now I’m getting a “Page Not Found” error! Can anyone help me re-locate it, or maybe e-mail me a copy?

    Aloha,
    Grace

  2. We spruce up pancakes on a weekly basis around here. And I think our current favorite is a traditional base batter but I add banana and about 3/4 cup vanilla yogurt, also substitute coconut milk for a bit of the regular milk, and then while they’re griddling, I sprinkle coconut onto the cake and then flip. I love all your ideas – can’t wait to try some!

  3. I have always been in love with pancakes and thanks for more mucho yummy recipes! The only hard part is deciding which one to make first!

  4. It is Tuesday morning, I am on hold waiting for a conference call to start (my least favorite work thing). The sneaking thing is that I am working from home. So I am eating your Dad’s Buttermilk Pancakes in my pajamas while my cat sits on my lap and yes the phone is on mute. It is heaven. What made my morning over the top…your Dad’s pancakes.

  5. i completely understand your pancake love. it what i had at my prom dinner last year and despite my mother being a health nut and hating my pancake habit, i eat them as often as i can. my friends know that the morning after they spend the night is always panclock (from 50 first dates when he fakes illiteracy) time. these will certainly become a regular at my house now! thanks!

  6. Pancakes, waffles, french toast….breakfast is the best! PS just over a week ago I made your bacon waffles for a brunch with the in laws (maybe I already commented this, I don’t remember) but they were soooooo awesome. Sooooo awesome I have to comment (again?) to make sure it’s been done:)

  7. Wow, I’ve been away for a while. Love the new design, although it feels less blog-gy and more professional-ly… but still very sweet as always…

  8. Ahh…. I want pancakes. I just moved into my dorm though, so there won’t be much pancake action around here any time soon, unfortunately.

  15. Yes, pancakes. Love them. Getting my girls hooked too. We usually make some pretty basic whole wheat ones, but I’m hoping to woo my family with some of these recipes on cold fall and winter mornings this year.

  16. Joy,

Tomorrow will be week two of “Dad’s Saturday Morning Pancakes.” The kickoff went over so well that it was requested that I continue. Before your inspiration, I have never been able to make them correctly and now it feels so good to have early requests piling up from members of the house.
My wife is requesting whole wheat w/blue berries. So this will be in addition to good old buttermilk pancakes. My oldest son doesn’t prefer cakes at all, but is eager to participate and has requested bacon; crispy. And my daughter, who’s 5, is my biggest fan! She keeps asking me different ways to make them. We are going to try chocolate chips, yummy!

    Thank you for outstanding inspiration!

  17. I love pancakes too….reading this list makes me wish I lived closer and could be the creepy but cute friend who came over for pancakes! I’ll console myself with asking my fiance to make some with me for lunch. Thanks for the amazing list of pancakes :)

  19. Joy,
Yes – I started reading your blog a little before you shared your father’s buttermilk pancakes with us (and I do keep thinking, “wow, this woman LOVES her pancakes”). :)
As a fellow fanatic, may I suggest my preferred pancake topping of choice – peanut butter! I think it started as a joke my mother and Godmother were playing on me but I’ve always preferred plain pancakes with PB (Jif, not skippy) and syrup. It’s great!!

    1. I’m with you, Rachel! Every time I request peanut butter for my pancakes, I get strange looks. I absolutely must have it. I’ve been eating them this way for three decades.

  20. Ah, I too am swooned by pancakes. They are one of the most delicious things on this planet. And a food that I could eat for three squares for the rest of my days. Thanks for the post and all of the great ideas!

Oh, and the whole wheat banana pancakes… TO DIE FOR.

  23. Yes, I completely believe you. Your pancake obsession has been very obvious, after following your blog for a year. Haha! I feel the same way about cheese…just can’t get enough of it. I’ve been know to eat plain cheddar cheese for breakfast. Yum!

  24. The kids and I are big fans of the oatmeal cookie pancakes! I’m hoping you come up with some fall inspired pancake recipes – something with apple or pumpkin. Thanks joy – you rock!

  25. It’s Friday and your post helps that feeling sink in even more. I have to have pancakes for breakfast tomorrow and I know it’s gonna be a great weekend – I’m leaning towards the gingerbread ones right now but oh, it’s hard to choose. I love your new site too.

  26. As much as the thought of chair spiced pancakes intrigues me, I assume you mean ‘chai’…

    ;)

Just yankin’ your chain. I LOVE pancakes and I love you for making this post – pancakes for breakfast tomorrow! Or possibly supper tonight!
