Happy New Year, my friends!
Are you feeling rested and fresh? Ready to dive into this next year with both feet? I vote we go in cannonball style this year.
I have more I want to share with you about saying goodbye to 2015 and hello to 2016, but I’m still gathering those thoughts into coherent sentences. In the meantime:
Some of this. Some of that:
• Because real love, once blossomed, never disappears. When Cupid Is a Prying Journalist.
• This 20 minutes of comedy has some special moments. Our president has a nice smile. Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee with President Barack Obama
• We’re adults who get to choose what we do and I appreciate this take on modern love. On Tinder, Off Sex
• How to adopt a 5-hour workday. No lunch and waaaaaaay less Facebook.
• We aren’t promised a thing, but if we can be comfortable eating dinner at the bar alone, and strive to look AMAZING in our muumuus, we’re gold: How to Grow Old With Yourself.
• New Year Drinking Resolutions from PUNCH.
• A few weeks ago I posted a recipe for Activated Charcoal Lemonade. Some of you were excited by the prospect of drinking activated charcoal, some of you wanted to shake your fists in fury. I’ve been occasionally drinking this recipe and so far I’m not dead and still have incessant cravings for brownies. Choose your own adventure.
• Why, with the charcoal lemonade, when we could just Shrimp and Grits and a Cocktail?
• Did I mention that it’s almost Mardi Gras. Time to get in the swing with King Cake.
• New Chrome App helps women stop saying ‘just’ and ‘sorry’ in emails. Apologizing for the frequency of our apologies.
• Filed under, Food I Made That I Didn’t Take Pictures Of: Pepperoni Pizza with Sourdough Pizza Crust from my sourdough starter. Also, I ate it on New Years Eve with a bottle of wine and a mud face mask and a bath so I’m doing a lot of things right.
• Greenbee supergood honey. I like the thought of this from Thrive Market
• 2016 is the year that these shoes make sense, right?
Let’s jump in!

Those shoes though! They are the mullet of shoes – business in the front, party in the back.
Of all of the episodes of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, this one is the top favorite.
Also, thank you for these Sunday posts. I adore them.
I love these Sunday posts. (I also love that snazzy new photo of you on the bottom of your site!)
I’m the queen of dining alone. I love love love it. It’s more than just being alone and taking time (no phone or book in hand!). You also have to get a good waiter/waitress that doesn’t try to rush you through the meal because they feel sorry for you being alone and think you want to hurry up.
Happy New Year, friend! xo
Glad you put the lemonade post back up! It’s not my bag, but I don’t think you should cave to other people’s haterade.
Also loved the Comedians in Cars with Obama- funniest president for sure.
ughhh..mookie…
Love your Sunday ramblings. Happy New Year!
I love your Sunday posts, Joy! You always introduce me to interesting goings-ons on the internets. Thank you!
Nobody was furious about the charcoal. People were asking about the scientific and medicinal benefits you were claiming charcoal provides. Glad to see you’ve walked that back.
Long live activated charcoal!
would it be a sin to put raisins in the King Cake ??
Love Comedians in Cars! Thanks for sharing!

Why???? (That means yes)
I hope your having a great sunday!
Thanks for linking to the Seinfeld/Obama interview. I had watched it before and loved it. A great comedian along with a great President. President Obama is just a nice person. Too bad he is made to look like something else than what he is.
Thanks also for reminding me about your King Cake. I made it last year and my family loved it!
I’m guessing that this site has some fantastic recipes. Some of them sound like heaven. It’s too bad that the site is so cluttered up with scripts that I can’t access any of the recipes or even get off of the recipe index page. You might want to consider foregoing some of the slick effects in favor of functionality that allows everyone to use your site. Color me disappointed that I couldn’t access anything that I wanted to see. :(
Thanks for the link to the lemonade recipe! I’m a subscriber, so got the link in my email, the day you posted it, but, I was never able to successfully see that post. I doubt that I’ll ever make or drink it, (but, who knows?!) but, I really wanted to read about that! :) As ever, Joy, it was a pleasure reading your thoughts, this late morning!
Ha, that’s sort of what I expected from your lemonade post. But your response is perfect: why in the world should I not try it? It will not cure world hunger, but it’s cool and black. Whatever. In the very least, I have solved your halloween punch problems without resorting to black vodka. :)
Thanks for the list – it got me through a Sunday work day without wanting to poke my eyes out!
Enjoyed this post made some interesting reading on a Sunday morning.Thank you, for sharing :)
The shoes rock!
Nice post!:-)
