Don’t look at me with those sad-clown eyes (wait… is that a thing?). ย It can’t be all Peach Cobbler Cinnamon Rollsย around here. ย That’s unrealistic (though delicious) and downright daunting (though delicious).
When the day’s diet turns a bit too indulgent, I reach for a blender and try to coax whatever fresh ingredients I have into a healthy smoothie. ย It’s not rocket science… it’s mostly just fruit and almond milk. ย You know the old song and dance.
If you take away any little gem of inspiration from this smoothie concoction, please let it be the Green Tea Ice Cubes. ย Though so so simple, these little blocks kinda thrill me. ย All the antioxidants and good vibes of green tea, frozen into a smoothie friendly cube and ready for blending. ย It’s a clever way to add more nutrients to our smoothie meal! ย I’m into it.
My favorite smoothie boosters include:
โข ย Chia seeds for their omega powers
โข ย Maca powder for energy
โข ย Aloha Green Juice Powder for a major boost of green and minerals
โข ย Raw Meal Protein Powderย for a vegan, gluten, and dairy free protein bang
โข ย Big handfuls of kale, cucumber chunks, and not bacon. ย Whatever you do, don’t add bacon.
Into the blender we go with raspberries (fresh or frozen), almond milk, pomegranate juice (bitterness to balance the sweet), green tea ice cubes, and chia seeds.
The results are sweet pink simplicity. ย It’s refreshing. ย It’s summer. ย I know… it’s not cinnamon rolls. ย Let’s be reasonable people who eat reasonable things from time to time.
Note: ย For the Green Tea Ice Cubes I brewed a Yerba Mate Green Tea Blend and froze them into cubes.

sounds like the perfect summer smoothie!
Genius!
Can you substitute strawberries for raspberries? Or what other fruit would you recommend?
You can totally swap out the raspberries for strawberries! Blueberries would also work nicely!
Love the idea of green tea ice cubes. This is making me want to whip up a smoothie right now!
I love when I have all of the ingredients on hand for one of your recipes! Just made this smoothie and it is yum!
Juice, milk, AND tea? That seems a little questionable but I’m game to try anything… Though I guess it wouldn’t seem so questionable if the juice were whole pomegranate kernels. Hm…
